Did I get a bargain, or was I ripped off. Just like many of you out there, I’m always bargain hunting, and I want to say I got one. But just because something is priced low, doesn’t mean you’re getting a bargain. And that can be said with just about anything like knives, or tools, just because you find something at a bargain price, it doesn’t mean it really is. I’m not a big fan of of Mossy Oak...

Can you change the bulb if it burns out and how ?
I have a Dime and use it daily for all the reasons you stated. It's small size is so perfect to keep in my pocket. But, I also have a Gerber Suspension that I use just as regularly, especially around the house. The Suspension seems like it would more adequately suite your needs and the pliers are much stronger. You obviously couldn't keep it on a key chain but its pocket clip makes it real easy to fit in the back pocket. Give one a try. For only $30, you really can't go wrong.
I used the pliers to bend a piece of steel wire and they shifted out of place and then the wire cutter was spaced too far apart as well so i lost the cutters and the pliers at the same time. Think it was 12g wire. Not too thick really. Shame.
Excellent review. I've had a Gerber Dime for two years and it looks exactly like yours! Mostly use the package opener. Agree that the pliers are for light use only - mine flex under pressure. The tweezer have come apart, an indication of less than perfect quality. I regard it as the complement of the Swiss Army Super Tinker which I keep in my other pocket - mostly use its scissors, but all its tools are useful sometimes. But the Gerber's pliers are bigger than those in the Swiss Army knives eg in the Tinker Deluxe and, importantly, it is better to have the pliers separate so that they can be used to hold a nut while using the screwdriver on the other tool. The Dime is good value, though, as well as being useful.
Yeah. I dont even see your cons as cons. I've used mine a bit more harshly than you have. Still a great little tool. Resharpened knife, package opener, etc. Still working great. To me they dont really retire, so now it lives in another location while I rotate out other options
I think the leatherman surge is the best multi tool in the world my leatherman surge comes with the leatherman bit kits and ratchet driver it's a great multi tool kit love it thanks for the video 👍
Had one for ten years or so. Its my second most used multitool because its the one i usually have in my pocket. Its not perfect but ive been happy with it
I have one I like and use it. I'm not a fan of the Keychain loop. I use the bottle opener for my Keychain. I don't have a use for a bottle opener.
That's a good idea for the bottle opener. Thanks for the tip!👍
I got the carbon shaft HP model. More efficient and more powerful brushless motor and comes with a harness and 4 amp fast charger. It’s a much better unit all round
Fantastic oil choice!
Do you mean serpentine belt? Because that has a timing chain. The serpentine belt is the one on the outside of the engine that runs the accessories like the AC compressor and power steering pump, etc. I'm not sure how not installing the serpentine belt would cause issues unless it failed to drive the water pump and then it overheated?
That's nowhere near a clunker.
I work in sporting goods at Walmart. We got 10 of those the first week of August, 10 the first week of November, and 10 the first week of December. That's it. And they were all gone in 2 days.
Very good video of to very good multi tools its a hard one both are good in different ways thanks for sharing this with us 👍
D2 can be brittle, so it isn't hard to snap off the tip. But I don't do anything that would break the tip, and for $10, it's plenty good for me.
I have the Surge along with the 2 bit kits, bit extender & ratchet driver that I EDC. Kind of makes you feel like you could fix / repair almost anything. There's a way to carry the saw blade in your Surge if you have the file installed. There's YT videos & shorts on how to do it, just do a YT search.
Got two of the new version that have the reversible clip. They are a brighter orange too. Love them!
Want a job done properly do it yourself
I still don’t quite see how so many people LOVE to carry a leatherman. If you’re doing real work, wouldn’t you just have dedicated tools with you? It’s like carrying a little steel brick around. For me, I’d go with a smaller swiss army knife because I want to take it everywhere.
Flex companion is now available internationally, definitely worth a look.
#kgrdiy1928 nice presentation. Thank you man
I appreciate the effort, but there''s no argument here. It's Leatherman unless you're just shlepping around an office or something. Decent pliers and wire cutters win the day. I buy off-brand tools now because I think thoese prices are ridiculous. But off-brand Leatherman.
That new multper surge clone looks enticing. Hard to get outside the US, though.
I prefer leatherman because they are made in the USA .
That leatherman is just way too heavy. It's a game of ounces. The wave and wave plus are way too many ounces.
And dollars. For that amount of money, just kit out a roxon flex.
I have found a med sized SAK is more useful for pocket edc. But I alway have a Leatherman in my car, bike or bag. Having 1 just doesn’t do it imo.
They're so expensive these days, though. A surge clone will set you back a third or even a quarter of the price of a real one, and even then, it's russian roulette when it comes to the QC.
I have outrider and work champ. I considered the work champ xl but I saw the swisschamp xxl. Might buy that because it makes me laugh it's so rediculous.
Gotta be reasonable when buying something like this. It’s not designed for heavy use, it’s not designed for “big projects”, it’s not designed for large tasks. It’s an emergency tool for small quick help when your more suitable tool is out of reach. You will not be happy with it if you’re expectations are too high, that goes for any multi-tool. They are emergency light use tools.
I had Victorinox Work Champ XL (31 functions tools) about 7 years and carrying its everyday.
They could slap a moth on the side and charge an extrae $90. For what it is, it's a Great Value.
Huntsman, just bought 37,99 (as gift to my son). but suddenly, several more models on my wish list :)
Handy man is on my radar for some time, do not have it yet. I agree with your thoughts.
This thing is ridiculous lol. This is a desk ornament like the Swiss Champ XL
I got one of these from a friend. I hate an orange knife. So I colored it with a black Sharpie and it came out a beautiful dark copper color!😳😁👍
177K miles on my "65 Ford F100
little tip; there are two variants of this model, one with grey plastic safety button on side of its body (like here) and one with linerlock, which i find better...there is no code distinction between those two, so be aware what you are buying via online shops;-) personally i recommend this knife; it has all importat tools and yes, it may look bulky at first, but its ergonomy in hand is actually near perfect and total weight of 227g aint gonna pull down your pants either
You can sent this tools to me bro if you bored ha-ha-ha.. In Indonesia this tools is a gem for camping
Think of pliers on this SAK as "Strong Tweezers, or tweezer like pliers", they really come in handy when you want to pull something out with more strength than some puny tweezers, they are also sensitive and precise as a tweezer. They are also useful for anything you don't want to touch, hot, cold, bugs, sharp, dirty. It's a strong manipulator for many things.
whats in and oz? i think you one ot the freedom iditots that dont undertansneverything ekse is better,,,
I bought a Work Champ online, and my initial reaction upon unboxing it was, "Holy moly, this is far too heavy for an EDC." So I started looking for a replacement that would be smaller but still cover my tool needs. I looked and looked, but nothing really convinced me. Every option was missing at least one critical feature. In the meantime, I started simply carrying the Work Champ around, and what do you know? I got used to it. It has now officially become my EDC multi-tool.
I had Victorinox Work Champ XL (31 functions tools that bigger than your Work Champ) about 7 years and carrying its everyday.
@goldensack_fieldadventuref4538 it just looks too fat to be comfortable. You don't find that to be the case? Also, when would you need a hoof cleaner and Marlin spike?
@@SpectacularSuperSoup In fact, I have many Swiss Army knives, about 10 or 12, but I carry only two every day: the Victorinox Work Champ XL and the Victorinox Equestrian. So now you know I have a horse on my farm. Actually, I use the hoof cleaner tool instead of the marlin spike to loosen tight knots because the tip of the hoof cleaner is not as sharp as the tip of the marlin spike, which could cause injuries if not used carefully. :-)
@goldensack_fieldadventuref4538 then it's like the perfect SAK for you. Very cool.
Your knife handle does look to be a Darker orange vs mine. Mine is a Bright Orange in color. Probably just a difference in the molding process they use to make the handle, or possible a different location made it. however , It is still a great knife for its price.
I've had the same Leatherman Micra since 1999. Still use it. Still love it.
All of them cannot be carried as keychain in Europe LoL 😂
In Germany all of them can be legally carried almost everywhere. None of them has a blade longer than 4cm.
Beginning a restoration on a '94 silverado, it runs and that's about all it has going for it right now, but she's solid!
Get custom scales made for a 10 dollar throw away knife??? Lmao come on now.
I have the Gerber Vise and recently got the Dime. Also have a larger Leatherman and Gerber. The pliers are more for putting something back together that has come apart, until proper tools can be available. If I knew I had to take something apart, like a battery terminal, I'd have the wrench. I have a full beard, so the scissors are for a few wild hairs. No major cutting. The pliers are fine enough to use as tweezers in many cases. The tweezers are for things I can't even see without a magnifying glass. lol If there is a cute girl needs her bottle opened, it's more sexy to pull out the Gerber, pop the top, then hand her back her drink, than it is to open a nerdy multi-tool for the job. lol I like the belly of the blade on the Dime better than the Micro. Think I could actually dress a fish or squirrel with it. The removable tweezers can be used as a roach clip without concern of someone stealing your whole knife. lol
I think this came and went so quick ... Not cus once people got the jist it was maybe a better bugout knife for a merely one $10.00... but also cus it mimic the bugout... to well and possible did things better for the price... So there might have almost been a lawsuit issue as to why it wasn't around more
Yeah I got the 5 dollar version of this... it's different enough to say it's another knife... the other Ozark trail life that mimics the bugout enough ...to say it's clone of sorts ... that black and white ... not black and orange ...
Lmao I have that same gerber on my keys
Junkyards are full of trucks, suburbans, tahoes. All pretty much the same.
I've got a 1992 Chevy C1500 and it is at 204,000 Miles and no major issues ever. They were built to last before companies decided to design them to break down at some point.
