Meta read off the frenzied assault rune, and stated that it was for dual wielding, and pvp, when it blatantly says it’s for 2h, and would obviously therefor benefit 2h pve (this was literally added as a talent in later expansions to do just that). So my previous comment/correction is still dead accurate. Also, I don’t make the corrections to be a Dick. I've still got all the Warcraft RPG books that were cannon before wow, and all arcane magic had addiction properties that eventually would corrupt you if you failed too many checks. A "maddening poison" that creates threat would be a nice thing (I mean, creating more pain than doing actual dmg would be a way to create threat). a stackable dot like the bleed effect of druid in wotlk.
Finally, Resto Druid will have something to do when not needing to cast heals. I always wanted Resto Druid to use a wand, now we can cast Wrath with no mana cost. Im loving it!

Yet I remember when feral druid was made briefly viable at the very beginning of Burning Crusade, only to be nerfed back into heal bot only status in patch 2.0.10. Waiting to see if Blizz pulls the same shtuff in Season of Discovery before giving them anymore money.

I’d just like to add that the rogue poisons on horse side maybe not being viable because of windfury, is an irrelevant argument anyway, since, as you stated, druids are getting a windfury ability now too. So it would be just as irrelevant on ally side now too. Which leads me to believe, they’ll probably Uber buff the poisons, or change how wiffy works.
The druid ability doesnt interfere with poisons. So neither horde or alliance rogues need to worry. Shamans will probably use the threat reducing air totem instead of winfury in raids.

When you explain the rogue talent just a flesh wound you have your information wrong, you say blade flurry is remade wich is not the case, blade dance is an added spell that synergize with just a flesh wound to tank from the leg rune slot. doubled checked the datamining there is no information about remaking blade flurry and... you say frenzied assault is dual wielding when its 2 handed.

Runes are swappable any time out of combat so that will help to allow you to have multiple play styles as well. I know they did mention at the very least decreased cost of respec

Reading these tunes too quick, you misread a few of them. Slow it down, make sure you read it all and don’t say it does something incorrectly. The rogue tanking rune isn’t changing blade FLURRY into a tanking ability, but buffs the new blade DANCE ability, which is increased parry chance finisher, and adds a damage reduction to it similar to righteous fury or defense stance. Between the eyes doesn’t increase AP, it’s damage is increased by AP. Also the shaman hybrid rune, ancestral guidance you read out wrong. It doesn’t increase the healing done to nearby party members by 100% if the damaging target has flame shock, it coverts your healing done into 100% damage to your last flame shock target. Warlocks lake of fire rune doesn’t just increase pet damage to targets, but also your damage, however ONLY fire damage… there for mostly Imp and what would be Destruction abilities.
All these new abilities with their aoe and dots sound like hell if you actually need to cc some mobs, for example in raids. Everyone can be that multi-shot hunter now? But I guess the content will now be so easy that it does not matter? Would be a big downer.
I am really excited about SOD. This is the most interesting version of classic that i ever seen before. Even more than LK, and this last one is my favorite one so far.
For the first time in my life I'm actually considering playing Alliance after seeing those pally changes. Ret is going to be a menace in pvp. Fuck why does pally have to be ally only.
In my head I feel that they could make a surprise and when we connect Pali would be available on an horde class and chaman on a Alliance class. Otherwise, I see definitely paly shine in pve but in pvp against mage / hunter even rogue maybe they have 0 mobility to close the gap. I don't think they will be as op as fuck as Mages or Warlocks

@@Niterayde That won't ever happen. Buffs are group wide and there are widely different strengths and weaknesses. And thats a good thing. The ultimate concept of "bring the player not the class" means that EVERY class is copy paste but different colors. You wouldn't want that

Hello, really hype by SoD as wild pvp addict :D. Thanks for the video, Just one thing though, On warrior section Friendzied assault doesn't concern dual welding but 2H weapons. It changes quite a lot actually and give single 2H weapon an advantage in pvp in my opinion. I hope they will add runes to warrior because it's really poor for pvp. I feel that we can't win any matchup that should be normally our main targets. Warrior need some love :D Thanks for the work and see you in game !
Personally I think not giving Horde Paladins (Blood Elves) and giving Druids, shaman specific traits will create a bigger faction imbalance in favor of alliance.

rune system is a little too much and is going to make leveling and solo questing too easy. I liked how classes were good at some things and bad at others. it made them unique in vanilla and inkeeping with the roleplaying and lore. And rune system could even make some specs like prot warrior no longer viable... eg pally could be the better tanks with new changes. but its interesting and should be a fun experiment... im hoping this is the foundation to a classic plus. And is a testing ground to see what works and what doesnt.
Bro the way I see it, they are doing really many changes and when community feedback will come or after testing this they'll reduce and do something more serious with the collected data. If they want to test even more mechanics and playstyle in this seasonal server to make a classic + server with only la creme de la creme after that, well go for it boys ! :D
See Id agree with you that its too much, but after playing Project Ascension for many years, going back to classic "class" era is so boring to me. This actually makes me excited for Classic + / SOD It's definitely going to switch up the meta, which why wouldn't that be a good thing. Playing the same class for countless years and not wanting to see it switched up a bit is insane to me. It's not like they're adding completely broken spells/abilities or anything that is too far fetched. And if they turn out to be im sure they will adjust or replace. But the fact that this is a direction they're heading in is a complete W in my books. I've heard countless times from streamers that they'd love to see the meta changed and classes become more viable - they add stuff that would do that and everyone goes ape shit and everyone seems to follow suit. a little off topic but just thought it was funny - ohhh leveling is the best part of classic don't increase the exp --- "hey, can anyone help me mob tag" call them out and they say "well I've done this so many times i just want to level up faster" streamers just say stuff for the attention and views, these changes are going to be awesome for classic + especially with new content on top if it. Going to be the changes you never knew you wanted.
It would be great to know whether any of this stuff is actually increasing subscriptions or more likely just keeping existing addicts in the system? Also, it is sort of ironic that #changes in the form of Runes will now lead to Blizzard doing nerf and buff patches as players discover new OP combinations and exploits and others whine about how they are at the bottom of the DPS charts, which will make it more like the original WoW. Since they don't seem to care about gold farming and bots it would be nice if AoE dungeon farming was brought back, but that is probably too much to hope for.
Interesting about Paladin tank & ret changes. I'm interested in the holy paladin but you didn't mention it. Looks like I will be RET to level, heal in raids? OR I will go in as a Priest. Also, when it starts, will the game be listed in your "Live - Classic" games list along with the other classic versions (hardcore, WotLK)? I can find NO INFO on how to start this game?
I’m gonna be honest, some of these changes worry me. I’m all for making specs that were janky or unviable before actually work, but it seems like they are making every class be good at everything, and that feels like a betrayal of classic to me. I think different classes should have different focuses.

This is completely different, Specs are tanking and healing that never have in the history of WOW. This is way beyond retail, I think the classic wow team is experimenting and I think it could be amazing. if you dont like it being "convoluted" they arent touching the classic era servers or hardcore servers.

The biggest issue with a shadow priest in classic is going oom. I don’t see anything here that’s going to change that.
I dont think this is going to be anywhere near balanced. Its just going to completely flip the meta in a way that will make the game feel fresh.
Shadow form isn't unlockable at 25 anyways. There are likely to be future runes to update this when it becomes a viable playstyle

Just one thing though, On warrior section Friendzied assault doesn't concern dual welding but 2H weapons. It changes quite a lot actually and give single 2H weapon an advantage in pvp in my opinion.
I hope they will add runes to warrior because it's really poor for pvp. I feel that we can't win any matchup that should be normally our main targets. Warrior need some love :D

Personally I think not giving Horde Paladins (Blood Elves) and giving Druids, shaman specific traits will create a bigger faction imbalance in favor of alliance.
Clearly they should give druids paladin specific traits as well to balance things out
A lot of streamers have already said they're rolling Horde(at least for NA), so I doubt it since a ton of people just follow their favorites.
@@Shiftlinkage101 Not sure what streams you are watching that say they are going Horde but from all the big ones I watched they are are Alliance. If the streamers you are talking about have small followings then that won't matter as they have little influence.

Druids are the new WF'ers so Rogues can use Poisons, since it's an aura not an on-hit and it allows shamans to use other totems so it's a win win
This will still put Horde even further behind than Alliance in PvE. You need 8 Shamans with totems vs 1 Paladin buffing Salvation
Now my question for warriors as a warrior main is later down the road does frenzied assault account for when we unlock titans grip because that would be crazy
rune system is a little too much and is going to make leveling and solo questing too easy.
I liked how classes were good at some things and bad at others. it made them unique in vanilla and inkeeping with the roleplaying and lore.
And rune system could even make some specs like prot warrior no longer viable...
eg pally could be the better tanks with new changes.
but its interesting and should be a fun experiment...
im hoping this is the foundation to a classic plus. And is a testing ground to see what works and what doesnt.
Bro the way I see it, they are doing really many changes and when community feedback will come or after testing this they'll reduce and do something more serious with the collected data.

See Id agree with you that its too much, but after playing Project Ascension for many years, going back to classic "class" era is so boring to me. This actually makes me excited for Classic + / SOD
It's definitely going to switch up the meta, which why wouldn't that be a good thing. Playing the same class for countless years and not wanting to see it switched up a bit is insane to me. It's not like they're adding completely broken spells/abilities or anything that is too far fetched. And if they turn out to be im sure they will adjust or replace. But the fact that this is a direction they're heading in is a complete W in my books.
I've heard countless times from streamers that they'd love to see the meta changed and classes become more viable - they add stuff that would do that and everyone goes ape shit and everyone seems to follow suit.

Also, it is sort of ironic that #changes in the form of Runes will now lead to Blizzard doing nerf and buff patches as players discover new OP combinations and exploits and others whine about how they are at the bottom of the DPS charts, which will make it more like the original WoW.
Since they don't seem to care about gold farming and bots it would be nice if AoE dungeon farming was brought back, but that is probably too much to hope for.

I’m gonna be honest, some of these changes worry me. I’m all for making specs that were janky or unviable before actually work, but it seems like they are making every class be good at everything, and that feels like a betrayal of classic to me. I think different classes should have different focuses.

Is it me or does this give hard Retail vibes? :D I mean most classes will now be tanking and healing (some possibly should have been like this from the beginning...but lets say rogues tanking? o.O). The whole "selling" point of vanilla was that of it being not overly convoluted. This looks pretty convoluted to me.
This is completely different, Specs are tanking and healing that never have in the history of WOW. This is way beyond retail, I think the classic wow team is experimenting and I think it could be amazing. if you dont like it being "convoluted" they arent touching the classic era servers or hardcore servers.

People got bored of classic (naturally, besides nostalgia it is just DOA) and they want something more. It is not really "beyond" retail, it is speed running towards retail. Unless you are happy of spending your ever valuable currency which is time, on below than mediocre services/games. Personally? I would rather have something good.

You were talking about rogues getting buffed as horde because of windfury, but you forgot that druids now essentially have aura effect windfury too. So alliance rogues will be fine
