Yep! Cata might be the first "classic" I try. I only played the end of Cata back in 2010 or so, this and MoP is the only revisits I'll consider as a retail PvPer :)

@@krisumusic Playing sod rn and classic pvp just doesn't hit the same. World pvp is 9/10 times unbalanced one shots and unfair fights and with the new incursions added it seems the devs just want to get players into the phase endgame so they can beta test the new raids.
Very excited for cata pvp, the class design as well as mop were just absolute peak for pvp. So much fun abilities added that made arena feel way more fresh and decisive compared to wrath.

i reckon blizz should go back to snapshotting in retail it would make large scale pvp alot less of a lag fest and its a great form of skill expression

Everything will be re-done but might possibly include old guides if they are still relevant.

Do you think you can get an elite set items in 2s rating in a cata classic? In the past, I heard it could only be obtained through 3s and 5s and rated battleground. Will Blizzard patch this? I only play 2s so I'm worried I won't get the elite set items.
On retail cata it was obtainable in 2s.
ret paladins are probably the best off-healer with their word of glory crits healing 75% of someones health
feral dream team supreme though. cant forget pyro/ignite/living bomb combustion spread on an entire enemy team. or frost dk Simulacrum getting wings, iceblock, seal of truth/light.
cataclysm and pandaria are the best pvp expansions and make it easy for people like us with busy careers to get home and pvp at full potential with minimum grind
Did you get conquest for winning a game rather than each week? I also hope you can catch up on alts later in the season

The catchup system in cata was as good as live. The only downside is you only get like 100 pts a win or something to that effect when you finally do hit 85 and need to cap 25k conquest

In terms of not spamming retail gameplay and tons of random crap on the screen cata is HUGE W for me, can't wait to have a normal pvp again

would like to know if we can currently save 75k honor to go towards honor gear in cata or is it getting erased? also, whats the first set of gear can we get with honor? blood thirsty? trying ot find out more info when cata releases what i need to farm
you can save it but it wont be enough for cap. youll need like 2k arena points and full honor cap iirc. its also like 346 badges of triumph+frost for justice points cap. you can convert those to honor as well for like a 25% loss iirc

I mean, if you don't need to be the best of the best, any class/spec will get the job done.
I love 2h Frost for PVP. Unholy is overall better, but why mess around with pet managment when Obliterate go brrrrr.
BM still has some applications, even though I'd say the are more underrated for PVE dungeons since you bring Bloodlust if there are no shaman or mages in the group. Spirit beasts will give you some healing in BG's and if you want to focus on healers you always have devilsaurs.

I don't understand this title at all. It is somehow implying that PvP in Cataclysm was BAD but not as BAD as people think it was. PvP in Cataclysm was arguably the best it's ever been, and any negative critisicm that the expansion had received in the past had nothing to do with PvP.
I started in cata. I only pvp'd. They did something right or I wouldn't have kept playing
I would disagree and most of the people playing at that time would have disagreed as well. Some of it may have been rose tinted glasses for bc/wrath I’m sure, but there was 100% a genuine feeling from the pvp player base at the time, that pvp in Cata was worse than the previous expansions. If you were active during that time and played with people that played during bc/cata, you would hear it from them. Cata and WoD pvp were generally not looked at favorably at the time, or looking back. People did generally love PvP gearing in WoD though.
It was the best, only people complaining were the classic zombie andys that wanna press 2 buttons

@@wladynoszhighlights5989 even just farming PvP gear takes forever though in wrath/TBC. Arena 5 set takes 2 weeks for every piece if you’re a average or below average player. Then add in weapons and rating requirements, you’re looking at 2 months give or take a few weeks. It’s a grind for sure if that’s still the case

How was cata lvling compared to wotlk?
Faster, questing was a lot more linear and less spread out, made it feel smoother imo, lots more heirlooms you can equip too

I just remembered the last two seasons of Cata were pretty balanced EXCEPT the bozos allowed legendary weapons in arenas which unbalanced it all over again.
Legendary daggers sucked. PvE trinkets were what made it annoying. At least it wasn't as bad as Wrath's PvE items.

In the latter seasons you say pve gear gets stronger in PVP..... I never raid so i'm wondering how much i'll be at a loss using only pvp gear? as an affliction warlock? for 2v2 and 3v3?
not really a massive loss because in general skill will always trump gear. that being said, the legendary items for rogue and mage make them literal god tier in another league, but in the final analysis you will be fine just using pvp gear.
Not a loss at all, I only run PVP gear which I got for free from BG’s and it’s god mode. I’m consistently top 5 in every bg with just PvP gear. Never ran a single raid in my life.
I started playing in Cata I still think it’s the best!
I disagree with rdudu being worst healer...rdru might be bad in 1st season...but on late seasons when he gets haste it s incredible op

Ferals are best ? u kidding back in day only feral comp that worked was jungle maybe Sp feral but nothing is storger than Dk Ret or Rogue Lock

MoP was better. Everyone was broken, it was glorious.
MY PEAK ARENA RATE WAS IN CATA MY HIGHEST POTENTIAL I HIT 2.7 WITH 2 CLASSES IN 3's, it was INSANELY GOOD TO PVP IN CATA AND MOP WAS ALSO GOOD THOUGH , GREAT PVP EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT CLASS DESIGN SKILLS IT WAS ABOUT SETUP AND BRAIN FUNCTION , CLASSES ALSO DID DAMAGE OUTSIDE OF COOLDOWNS YOU DIDNT RELY ONLY ON YOUR BURST CD's
Only problem with MOP was the amount of instant CC that was in the game. RBGs were painful to play.

Anyone think enh sham gonna make a comeback in cata? Every guide i’ve seen puts them like being so weak…
Asking about arenas and RBGs specifically. You can play w/e you want in normal battle grounds and still feel you can make and impact. I’ve been stressing out on what class to play cuz i’m a ret main but with the over population of paladins its been impossible for me to find a guild/arena team
@@antos5329 You won't get invited to much. RBG's they will want an ele shaman. Enhance is just a really bad feral druid in Cata. Feral druid brings instant clones and semi ranged interrupt with way more survivability.

Cata is the best pvp addon, i’ve started playing in tbc and even wotlk is not as good as cata, its the time when all the things you can do in the game had impact and perfect balance between grinding and getting something too easy. Same applies to arena and basically to each aspect in the game imo. So hyped for cata release
rogues having a heal, a strong one on top of that, as well as other non-hybrids is what broke the game

I liked that every spell in WotLK had impact, but thats it. Cata is what caused WoW to break with the classic-gameplay and there were some good and bad design-decisions, yet since I started in Cata, thats one of my favorite xpacs anyway - despite not being the best
IMO MoP was peak gameplay, where you could play almost every spec with new fun designs, before abilities got pruned

There truly will not be enough demand for this. Such a large chunk of good classic players have either quit after their initial nostalgia kick or have moved on to SoD. I have attempted to play WotLK the last few weeks and it's just spanish speaking players who are absolute dumpster fires when it comes to ability
Any xpac where you have to PvE for the BiS PvP gear sucks.
I guess it's fine if you're a loser that just sits home all day but some people want to log on for an hour or two, crush arenas and log off. Reasons why the PvP community across all xpacs in wow is extremely low.

Dont really understand why people all of a sudden hate cataclysm pvp while I vividly remember it being regarded as the best pvp the game ever had, even into the next few expansions (lol MOP everything broken)?.
Now its cool for the same players in the 26-2700 + bracket in cata to all of a sudden hate it. Even some streamers (hydra), will admit it was some of the best performance they ever had and experiences yet hate it?? I dont get it lol

Problem with classic PvP is that the meta is completely figured out from day one. So every game is just meta comp Vs meta comp and no creativity or variety...
No one wants to pop lay that - just look at wotlk PvP - completely dead.

Yeah, this makes me consider whether I even want to play Cata. Investing in S9 doesn't seem sensible if I have to prepare for S10 PvE to play by the rules of rng Gods to be viable on paper in PvP. I stuck through with WotLK. I'm glad I did but I won't do it again. The only saving grace if I were to change my mind is that I have 2 lvls 80s and they're both Ferail Druids.

@@donkeymule2 I can tryhard and fool around without sacrificing one for the other. And gearing up a lower Feral next to main Feral helps understand the class a bit better, too. Feeling the weakness of not having top tier gear makes you try other ways to get the kill or survive.

I save you time to understand PVP in cata. Go "Feral Druid/ Combat Rogue/ Unholy DK/ Retry Paladin/ MM Hunter/Frost Mage" or just dont play PVP at all. Theese are literally S tier and all other specs are down in B tier there's no need for "A" tier thats how overpowered theese specs are over all other in Cataclysm. :)
