    Excellent video. Thanks for the tutorial on the caliper tool that winds the caliper in. Another thank you from Massachusetts

    Thanks for taking the time to post this great video. It probably saved me $500 easy. I like to think I did a good job with the details thanks to your post. I own a power bleeder so I bled the two back brake lines while I was under there. Thanks from Massachusetts.

    I'm about to attempt this on all 4 corners on my 2015. I read somewhere that you should open the brake fluid reservoir before twisting in the pistons. Is this necessary?

      There's no need to open the brake fluid reservoir, just make sure the reservoir isn't too full before pushing the Pistons back so it doesn't apply too much pressure on the reservoir cap seal and over flow . This way you shouldn't have to bleed the brakes.

    I’m attempting this on my 2016 Buick regal in the morning is it the same process??

    • @TheAutoTeacher
      @TheAutoTeacher  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Should be exactly the same unless your vehicle is equipped with electronic parking brakes.

    I have the exact same 2011 model and color Regal but I have vented rotors. I just replaced with same. Car was made in Germany. Thougths?

      It's weird they are vented, I wonder if you gave the Vin number to your GM dealer what they would give you that was recommended or equivalent to for your vehicle. It's always recommended to use what is specified by the manufacturer.

    Hello. Recently had an all around brake service on my 2011. The L, R began to leak from the seal. The mechanic stated that the wrong rotors were used because the pads extended about 1/4in beyond the rotor and may have caused the failure of the caliper. Is this possible?

    • @TheAutoTeacher
      @TheAutoTeacher  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That should have no affect on the seal.

      All OEM buick regals around that year eventually leak. I just replaced the fourth caliper because that same problem always happens. GM messed up by exposing rubber I believe but aftermarket calipers only have steel exposed and it totally fixes the problem. If you don't do your own mechanic work it's gonna cost you though.

    Can you use an ordinary c clamp instead?

    • @TheAutoTeacher
      @TheAutoTeacher  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure you could use a C clamp and make it work as long as it's big enough.

    By any chance, did you have to disengage the electronic parking brake beforehand?

    • @TheAutoTeacher
      @TheAutoTeacher  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This model wasn't equipped with the electronic parking brake .

    How do you know which size rotor to use? Do you just have to line it up after. Got a 2011

    • @TheAutoTeacher
      @TheAutoTeacher  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you give the auto parts store your year, make, and model specifications they should be able to get you the proper size for your vehicle. Hopefully there won't be too many variations, you can also measure/line them up to double check the size.

    How do I bleed the brakes on a 2010 Buick LaCrosse

    • @TheAutoTeacher
      @TheAutoTeacher  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Start with the back passenger wheel, then back drivers wheel, then front passenger, last will be the front drivers wheel, there should be a bleeder valve on each caliper, probably a 3/8 or 5/16 open end wrench. Have someone pump the brakes up and then hold pedal pressure, loosen the bleeder valve until the pedal goes to the floor and retighten before they let the pedal go or it will allow air back in. Continue doing this until you get a solid stream of fluid, from each caliper. No bubbles should be in the fluid and don’t forget to keep adding a little bit of brake fluid every so often during bleeding process.
