      Hi! Glad you love it! May I ask you a question? What were your problems with the Orthodox church that made turn protestant and kept you from returning when you realised issues with protestantism? I'm currently in the RCIA (not baptised yet, used to be an atheist) and our brothers from Orthodox church always interested me.

    • @stephenpisanojr.774
      @stephenpisanojr.774 5 ปีที่แล้ว +51

      Le fidèle I believed the Orthodox theology was a little bit off so I drifted into Protestantism and then thought about returning to the Orthodox Church since Protestantism had so many different denominations and contradictions. However, I realized that the Orthodox Church is not the true church. The Catholic Church is the true Church because the Popes are an unbroken line traced back to St. Peter when he was given primacy over the entire Church by Christ. Furthermore, the Early Church Fathers believed in the universal primacy of the Papacy, as their writings show irrefutable evidence that the Pope had been the head of the entire Early Christian Church. The Eastern Catholic Churches, for the most part, are churches that split from Rome as part of the Orthodox Church but eventually returned to full communion with the Catholic Church. It’s eastern churches reuniting with Rome, not western churches reuniting with Constantinople and Moscow, proving that the Catholic Church is the One True Church. Lastly, you should get baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit as soon as possible to cleanse you of original sin. Water baptism is necessary for salvation and for incorporation into the Catholic Church. God bless.

      I appeal to you to research your Augustine heritage with an open mind. I would not want to be in your awkward position of defending a theology founded single handedly by a man with prolonged indoctrination in three intensely pagan deterministic systems, who departed from centuries of orthodox teachings on free choice by appealing to "salvific" infant water baptism viewed from Stoic micromanaging determinism(that eternally damns newborns),who admitted he had departed from Christianity's centuries old free choice defense against pagans, rested his case on numerous Latin mistranslations (without knowing the Greek language), then followed Plotinus's defense appealing to the inscrutable counsel of the One (don.pers. 1/27,7;grat.et.lib.arb 41, 45, an.et or4.16 to explain the incomprehensible unreasonableness of his novel pagan-Christian syncrestic theology- Stoic/Neoplatonic/Manichean/Christian. In addition current Calvinistic interpretations of "deterministic" scripture passages are pagan interpretations brought into Christianity through Augustine. I invite you to you to consider the pre-Augustinian and Augustine's earlier, more firmly founded and universal perspective of a salvific free choice response, graciously offered by Christianity's sovereign God of grace.

    • @DavidAzua
      @DavidAzua 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Stephanie Gonzalez For we do not receive these as common bread and common drink; but just as Jesus Christ our Savior, having been made flesh by the word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so also we have learned that the food over which thanks has been given by the prayer of the word which comes from him, [see 1 Cor 11: 23-26; Lk 22; 19] and by which are blood and flesh are nourished through a change, is the Flesh and Blood of the same incarnate Jesus.
      I'm not going to give you the benefit of saying things that are from the outset of our Faith been established. Calm down and then yes, read your bible. And start with John 6:66. Then read all of John 6. Then humble 🥧? But I seriously doubt you will do anything but throw a fit. You do make a good protestant.

    Thanks for sharing this interesting video about the Catholic faith. You are so down to earth and a zealous person. Anyway, I myself was converted to Catholicism when I was in my late teens. Prior to that, I used to attend Protestant Churches, and unfortunately, they do not believe in celebrating the Holy Eucharist. Only unconsecrated bread and wine on a quarterly basis. The reason why I join the Catholic Church was based on my own volition because I was attending Holy Mass as an observer only. Personally, I was so inspired by the belief and firmly believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist and it is the greatest gift from God of my Catholic faith. I am very thankful. Amen!

      @paularrowsmith9980 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "The greatest treasure in my life is Jesus" - Thank you for that!
      Now THAT'S a comment worth making!
      Without the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, crucifixion to bear the punishment for my sins and His bodily resurrection in real history, I would be without forgiveness, without eternal life and without the fellowship of others who also love and belong to my precious Saviour!
      Also I would be without an overriding, God-given, eternity-focussed purpose in life.
      I'm thankful for my Roman Catholic friends with whom I have ongoing opportunities to engage in pro-life activity.
      I'm especially thankful for my well-worn copy of the Bible, which I can read and study from day to day, gaining godly wisdom, instruction, guidance, encouragement, peace, joy and the assurance of my standing in Christ before God my holy father in heaven.
      I'm so thankful that because of all Jesus accomplished at Calvary, I now stand in His righteousness, not in the defiled rags of my own failed goodness.
      I was giving out gospel leaflets some years ago in a town centre not far from my home. A guy took one, paused and then asked "What do you do"? I guess he was asking if I had a 'proper job' (which I did, before I retired from it).
      I explained though, that my purpose in life was to be a signpost, pointing others to my dear Saviour.
      And isn't that what today (Christmas 2019) is all about? (Also Easter, life, church, human relationships, and everything else)?
      Yes indeed, until the Lord Jesus returns in power and glory for all His blood-bought people!
      Thank God for the "blessed hope" of the Saviour's ever nearer return, as promised in His holy word!
      Do I hear a loud "Amen"?

It was the Church established by Jesus Christ who is true God and true man, of which we celebrate at Christmas: the Incarnation. I also would add that it is the Catholic Church that determined which books would be added to the bible. Thanks Fr. Casey for your great video. Love the monks beer too. Keep up the great catechesis.

      @@makemyday2385 Yes. Just look at the traditions of the Catholic church and research the tradition of famous paganism. Let me use Christmas and Easter as an example. Can you look into those traditions and how come the church incorporated this and many other sun worship traditions into the system?

    • @makemyday2385
      @makemyday2385 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      How bout you take an ancient salvatio n history class and you will soon discover that the liturgy of the Catholic Church is deeply rooted in the Jewish liturgical tradition. Idolatry images of the sun god have no refernce in the liturgy other than a theological context that Christ is the light of the world. Once you understand that, then you will see that it was early Christianity that was putting the traditions of the church in the face of pagan customs and culture. Recommend you read the Book of Daniel and the Books of the Gospels to gain a better understanding on who Christ is and claimed to be.

      I encourage you to continue to explore: here's something written around 150A.D. by a man who had his head cut off because of his Faith. They said he was a cannibal because he professed eating the Body of Christ through the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the centeal part of the Mass and when you're ready please find a good RCIA program.
      "For we do not receive these as common bread and common drink; but just as Jesus Christ our Savior, having been made flesh by the word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so also we have learned that the food over which thanks has been given by the prayer of the word which comes from him, [see 1 Cor 11: 23-26; Lk 22; 19] and by which are blood and flesh are nourished through a change, is the Flesh and Blood of the same incarnate Jesus."
