I’m a fat man and I’ve never blamed a doctors office, restaurant or class room for being anti fat. My issues with my weight are my problem not anyone else’s and I don’t expect anyone to make special accommodations for my choices in life.
I'm not a very large person but I am too big. I never can find the motivation to work out but I have someone who will drag me off the couch every day to work out and I feel much better and look a little better than I did a month and a half ago. As of now I still can't find my own motivation but I am very greatful for my friend and I hope I can find my own motivation. If you have a hard time motivating yourself to get in shape, find someone who will make you!

I'm older and had we asked any questions about the sexuality of our teacher we would have been sitting outside of the principals office about 30 seconds later.
If I were in that situation I would only say 'Im married to a man, but this is a rude thing to ask anybody. If you have questions about these things, go ask your parents'. If the kid was old enough to be in a sex ed class, I'd be a little more honest, but mainly refer to the sex ed teacher or tell them to google 'what is a homosexual'.

Even then, majority of photography waivers in preschools and daycares are for marketing purposes. Not only are subway safety bars higher due to head height, but traditionally, women wouldn't have to use them. Men gave their seats to women and stood. When I grew up as a teenager in the 90s in NYC, I never once sat while a woman stood. Never ever happened
While I don’t think there’s an issue with the current height of the safety bars, I have to say that today is significantly different than the 90’s. Many people will move for you to sit if you are very elderly or have a baby but besides that men normally don’t give their seats to women anymore. I am 19, middle school was probably my best years so far. I had teachers that I looked up to. I have never once CARED at all for their sexuality. I was more curious of what they liked and their hobbies. I had so many teachers that made a great impact on me for the rest of my life. I still think about them today and hope they are doing their best.

I am also a fatty which I will take ownership of, but I do wish there were more accommodations sometimes. Went to Universal Studios and there are no cars on some of the rides that can accommodate much outside the average person. So there were a bunch of fat men standing around outside the rides while their families stood in line for hours and then enjoyed the ride. Not every car should be made bigger, but if you have an audience that paid a lot of money to get into the park, one car wouldn't be so bad, right? Or at least tell me before you take my money that I am not welcome there.

I just had to confront my 11yo’s teacher because she assigned her a book about a transgender character. My kid called it ‘bisexual’ and had no idea what either was. Absolute rubbish and now the superintendent is involved 🙄

Same here. I mean don't get me wrong, I always respected my dad but I sure didn't like him for the majority of my upbringing. He claimed to be Catholic yet supported abortion, divorce, and was just down right emotionally and physically abusive to me and my mom. He was so mean. I was confused about God for the longest time. Teachers are generally not allowed to film or take photos without parental consent. Now, if the event were a school sponsored event... That's a different story. School's typically post a livestream of those on FB where all the parents can see their kids in a Christmas parade or Halloween parade. That's how it works in the majority of school districts, I believe.

As a 67 year old fat person (woman) who has dealt with public seating access ALL of MY life, there has ALWAYS been seating available for everyone, for fat people, or any size, in the form of FREE STANDING chairs. Now, regarding comfort, public seating can be (and is) uncomfortable for any size person. Public seating is NOT available for your comfort. To just sit back and lounge around indefinitely. Public seating is simply available for brief periods of time, for 10 minutes to 2+ hours (in a theatre or maximum dining time for special occasions) to accommodate as many people/patrons in the business during service hours. And last but not least, "the needs of the many outweighs the need for the one/few" If your uncomfortable, LEAVE and go home where the rest of us go for comfortable seating, AS IT SHOULD BE!!! Quit whining and get over yourself! AND if your fat shamed or phobic in public, stay home!!, or just accept yourself/size for who you are and deal with it just as EVERYONE, EVERY single person does EVERY day, regardless of their gender, age, race, or size, etc. etc. etc. Without making it into a non-existent "big issue"!! In texas, it's state law that people have to stand up to give pregnant women a seat. There's undercover cops on the buses to police more serious offences, but they'll write tickets for this case to if they see it.

I broke a chair once. It was unfortunely not in a public place and also not because I was fat, but because it was an old chair and not so sturdy anymore. It was actually very funny. I did felt bad for breaking the chair, because it was an antique chair owned by a friend, but she was very nice about it.

I'm not a very large person but I am too big. I never can find the motivation to work out but I have someone who will drag me off the couch every day to work out and I feel much better and look a little better than I did a month and a half ago. As of now I still can't find my own motivation but I am very greatful for my friend and I hope I can find my own motivation. If you have a hard time motivating yourself to get in shape, find someone who will make you!

As a gay person I'd be highly HIGHLY uncomfortable if I were a teacher and some students just ran up to me and started asking about my sexuality.

Not only are subway safety bars higher due to head height, but traditionally, women wouldn't have to use them. Men gave their seats to women and stood. When I grew up as a teenager in the 90s in NYC, I never once sat while a woman stood. Never ever happened
While I don’t think there’s an issue with the current height of the safety bars, I have to say that today is significantly different than the 90’s. Many people will move for you to sit if you are very elderly or have a baby but besides that men normally don’t give their seats to women anymore. I am 19, middle school was probably my best years so far. I had teachers that I looked up to. I have never once CARED at all for their sexuality. I was more curious of what they liked and their hobbies. I had so many teachers that made a great impact on me for the rest of my life. I still think about them today and hope they are doing their best.

Teachers are generally not allowed to film or take photos without parental consent. Now, if the event were a school sponsored event... That's a different story. School's typically post a livestream of those on FB where all the parents can see their kids in a Christmas parade or Halloween parade. That's how it works in the majority of school districts, I believe.

As a 67 year old fat person (woman) who has dealt with public seating access ALL of MY life, there has ALWAYS been seating available for everyone, for fat people, or any size, in the form of FREE STANDING chairs. Now, regarding comfort, public seating can be (and is) uncomfortable for any size person. Public seating is NOT available for your comfort. To just sit back and lounge around indefinitely. Public seating is simply available for brief periods of time, for 10 minutes to 2+ hours (in a theatre or maximum dining time for special occasions) to accommodate as many people/patrons in the business during service hours. And last but not least, "the needs of the many outweighs the need for the one/few" If your uncomfortable, LEAVE and go home where the rest of us go for comfortable seating, AS IT SHOULD BE!!! Quit whining and get over yourself! AND if your fat shamed or phobic in public, stay home!!, or just accept yourself/size for who you are and deal with it just as EVERYONE, EVERY single person does EVERY day, regardless of their gender, age, race, or size, etc. etc. etc. Without making it into a non-existent "big issue"!! I go to the school that the shoelace lady worked at. (a small school in western Pennsylvania where everyone knows everyone) She took that video in the classroom that is now the room I take Spanish in. She was a substitute teacher not a real teacher thank God. But I can almost guarantee the story was made up. She would let kids do whatever they wanted when she would sub for a class with no discipline whatsoever. I believe she has since been terminated seeing as she no longer works there.

I broke a chair once. It was unfortunely not in a public place and also not because I was fat, but because it was an old chair and not so sturdy anymore. It was actually very funny. I did felt bad for breaking the chair, because it was an antique chair owned by a friend, but she was very nice about it.
