I was there just playing games and be a mentor to his school and problems that he needed help with. Now he is an adult and we're like brothers. Even if you don't have any bad intentions I still suggest to act in a way that won't seem questionable with a minor.

As a former prosecutor, this is what grooming looks like. It doesn’t have to be sexual in nature, and Colleen has clearly groomed Jojo. Also, it doesn’t excuse Jojo’s statements, but it does show how powerful grooming can be. You can see the internal struggle when Jojo is speaking, like she’s starting to realize that there is no rational way to defend Colleen … but, then, she still reverts to her original position that Colleen is being unjustly persecuted. It depends on the evidence presented, if it's clear that they're guilty then yes it's obviously just personal. But if it's doubtful then I think that it makes sense to defend a friend. This time though yeah it's dumb.

Agreed. The people who groped, assaulted, and abused me may have never laid a hand on another woman. Still, in the current social climate I can absolutely imagine that people would come out of the woodwork to defend them.
Like, I understand that they didn't hurt everyone they came across, but they hurt me. Let's not dismiss victims just because they didn't assault you personally.
I’m 30 and I can’t imagine a world in which I was friends with a 12 year old, much less close enough that I was sharing intimate details of my life and relationships. I have absolutely nothing in common with a 12 year old. Even if Colleen wasn’t a groomer, there’s no way a close friendship between someone her age and a bunch of kids could be anything other than toxic and creepy.
