If anyone were to talk to my toddler about gender or genitals, I'd be fighting someone. Those topics absolutely DO NOT belong in a preschool classroom. I've worked with kids for 17 years and if anyone ever came into my classroom and brought those topics to the lesson plans, it's an immediate no from me. Body autonomy is another thing, I agree with that. Your hands and the rest of your body belong to yourself. Don't touch anyone and no one needs to touch you.

My parents are both atheist and they sent me and my sister to catholic school as a child since they supposedly teach better values and had better education for being private. None of this madness existed when I was growing up though.

There is a parental failure here too. There is no way at that young an age they didn't bring some of that indoctrination home. They are preschoolers no way in hell one of them didn't ask their parents if they were boys or girls that day or....whatever the hell she said she was. That's when you stop, look at your kid and say "excuse me? Repeat that." When they do you then ask "who taught you that? Where did you hear that?" When I was a child the main issue for parents were other parents teaching their children about biology too early and not letting them be kids and have a childhood. Now we have this.
I think to teach them about consent cant begin early enough! In a way a child can understand. Asking grandparents and aunts/uncles to ask the child "can i give you a hug?" "Can i give you a Kiss?" And respect if they cry or avoid contact (in the right situations). Of course, when the kid wants to run on to the street, there are no questions to be asked. But telling them and making them have the experience that their NO counts can also protect them from certain ideologies ect. Heard about the case where boys in school had to paint each others nails? A child who is confident that their feeling and needs count and are respected would have been much more able to say no, or tell their parents afterwards that they felt Bad about it. In this case, the parents can enforce the childs consent - as in tell the teachers: dont make my child parttake in such activities again. A child who is teached to only obey authority wont question the Bad feeling it gives them and blindly follow.

As the daughter of 2 paediatricians, babies are not "assigned" a gender at birth. Their gender is declared, after an examination. Doctors don't just pick a random.

@@jackm7571 I've had relationships with both men and women and relate to both on more than just sexual manners, but also relate to them on a deep, emotional level. There are a lot of people out there who don't think that bisexual people are being honest about why they're bisexual, but for me, I find I can have extremely deep and beautiful connections with both genders because it is so much deeper than just sex in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, sex is great haha, but I build relationships on so much more than just that as my main goal or priority. I don't have a preference of either men or women, for me, I appreciate and am attracted to men and women equally - although it can be different for other bisexual people. I will say that dating women has always been easier and smoother for me but that's probably because I'm a woman myself. Even with that said though, my longest relationships have been with men but again, I don't necessarily have a preference of one gender over the other. I appreciate you taking the time to ask me about this (versus drawing your own conclusions) and am happy to answer any more questions you may have, so long as they're respectful and not demeaning in any way. As a preschool teacher: 1. I would be amazed at a 2 year old with language skills like that, so I am doubting her story 2. You can matter of factly respond to student's comments, etc. about their body parts, but to say you have "again" been talking about the TOPIC of gender and genitals means she forces this upon them in order to brainwash the young. Gonna disagree with you on that one to an *extent*. There is a sport called Fomula 1. But to get into that, you go from Karting to F4 to F3 o F2 to F1 ig you are REALLY good. Most drivers in F1 started Karting from age 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. If you can Kart at 4, no doubt you are saying full sentences by 2. I think it was great that the parent did that. Kids don’t end up learning the barrier between gender and sex from a young age. And since gender is a social construct created to better judge and read people, it would be great if more kids were aware of it and chose their gender themselves
I don’t think what the parent was doing was awful. I’d say a good way of parenting would be to not force a child to enjoy masculine or feminine things. Encourage boys and girls to play with trucks and dolls, and encourage your kids to play with them if they pick them up themselves. Now I’m not saying to force a gender onto your kids, but isn’t that essentially what most parents who subscribe to traditional gender roles do? Think of Ross in friends, where he was so insecure about his son playing with a Barbie that he tried to force him to play with a GI Joe instead.

I am a 2 year old teacher and would never in a million confuse a poor toddler like this. If you wanna dress up like a princess for dramatic play, that's completely fine, but what we aren't going to do is say you are a girl when you are in fact a boy. I mean how does she do the ASQ's when they ask if the toddler can tell you what gender they are and they say it incorrectly. I saw something where she lost her job, but that doesn't even compare to the harm she has done to those kids. If you're there to teach toddlers, teach them things that are important to them in this moment, using gross motor and fine motor skills. Yeah, your class knows about YOUR personal sexuality, but can they hold a pencil correctly? Can they use scissors correctly? Can they draw a straight line after seeing you do it? What about a circle? Can they build at least 3 blocks up? Can they handle their emotions? Because obviously you can't honey.

I think you have the wrong message, the teacher wasn’t misleading them, only educating them (which, big surprise, is a teacher’s job) about different genders and sexuality. I’m not sure how you have a problem with this, since if you have kids, you’re probably telling them how mommy and daddy love each other, and that is talking about sexuality and gender. Except in the teachers case, they are only informing the kids about LGBT+ groups, not forcing them into being some gender they’re not. On the other hand, heterosexual parents often tell their children that they are a ‘ladies man’ or ‘princess’, which is forcing roles of gender onto them. It seems to me that you are less educated on the issue of gender and sexuality than the kids are. It is just too difficult for you to understand that people that have a different gender and sexuality than you don’t push that onto kids like you do. Maybe someone needs to go back to preschool. I remember watching an episode of "Disappeared" about a young native man, Elijah Bear Diaz, who went missing in California & who was most likely abducted & murdered for his money, because at 18 he received a huge trust fund as his share of profits from the reservation casino. If anyone were to talk to my toddler about gender or genitals, I'd be fighting someone. Those topics absolutely DO NOT belong in a preschool classroom. I've worked with kids for 17 years and if anyone ever came into my classroom and brought those topics to the lesson plans, it's an immediate no from me. Body autonomy is another thing, I agree with that. Your hands and the rest of your body belong to yourself. Don't touch anyone and no one needs to touch you.

There is a parental failure here too. There is no way at that young an age they didn't bring some of that indoctrination home. That's when you stop, look at your kid and say "excuse me? Repeat that." When they do you then ask "who taught you that? Where did you hear that?" When I was a child the main issue for parents were other parents teaching their children about biology too early and not letting them be kids and have a childhood. Now we have this.

I think to teach them about consent cant begin early enough! In a way a child can understand. Asking grandparents and aunts/uncles to ask the child "can i give you a hug?" "Can i give you a Kiss?" And respect if they cry or avoid contact (in the right situations). Of course, when the kid wants to run on to the street, there are no questions to be asked. But telling them and making them have the experience that their NO counts can also protect them from certain ideologies ect. Heard about the case where boys in school had to paint each others nails? A child who is confident that their feeling and needs count and are respected would have been much more able to say no, or tell their parents afterwards that they felt Bad about it. In this case, the parents can enforce the childs consent - as in tell the teachers: dont make my child parttake in such activities again. A child who is teached to only obey authority wont question the Bad feeling it gives them and blindly follow.

@@jackm7571 I've had relationships with both men and women and relate to both on more than just sexual manners, but also relate to them on a deep, emotional level. There are a lot of people out there who don't think that bisexual people are being honest about why they're bisexual, but for me, I find I can have extremely deep and beautiful connections with both genders because it is so much deeper than just sex in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, sex is great haha, but I build relationships on so much more than just that as my main goal or priority. I don't have a preference of either men or women, for me, I appreciate and am attracted to men and women equally - although it can be different for other bisexual people. I will say that dating women has always been easier and smoother for me but that's probably because I'm a woman myself. Even with that said though, my longest relationships have been with men but again, I don't necessarily have a preference of one gender over the other. I appreciate you taking the time to ask me about this (versus drawing your own conclusions) and am happy to answer any more questions you may have, so long as they're respectful and not demeaning in any way.

Gonna disagree with you on that one to an *extent*. There is a sport called Fomula 1. But to get into that, you go from Karting to F4 to F3 o F2 to F1 ig you are REALLY good. Most drivers in F1 started Karting from age 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. If you can Kart at 4, no doubt you are saying full sentences by 2. But tbh I dont see kids talking about that often *UNLESS* its a popular topic in the household

I don’t think what the parent was doing was awful. I’d say a good way of parenting would be to not force a child to enjoy masculine or feminine things. Encourage boys and girls to play with trucks and dolls, and encourage your kids to play with them if they pick them up themselves. Now I’m not saying to force a gender onto your kids, but isn’t that essentially what most parents who subscribe to traditional gender roles do? Think of Ross in friends, where he was so insecure about his son playing with a Barbie that he tried to force him to play with a GI Joe instead.

I am a 2 year old teacher and would never in a million confuse a poor toddler like this. If you wanna dress up like a princess for dramatic play, that's completely fine, but what we aren't going to do is say you are a girl when you are in fact a boy. I mean how does she do the ASQ's when they ask if the toddler can tell you what gender they are and they say it incorrectly. I saw something where she lost her job, but that doesn't even compare to the harm she has done to those kids. If you're there to teach toddlers, teach them things that are important to them in this moment, using gross motor and fine motor skills. Yeah, your class knows about YOUR personal sexuality, but can they hold a pencil correctly? Can they use scissors correctly? Can they draw a straight line after seeing you do it? What about a circle? Can they build at least 3 blocks up? Can they handle their emotions? Because obviously you can't honey.

I think you have the wrong message, the teacher wasn’t misleading them, only educating them (which, big surprise, is a teacher’s job) about different genders and sexuality.
I’m not sure how you have a problem with this, since if you have kids, you’re probably telling them how mommy and daddy love each other, and that is talking about sexuality and gender.
Except in the teachers case, they are only informing the kids about LGBT+ groups, not forcing them into being some gender they’re not.
On the other hand, heterosexual parents often tell their children that they are a ‘ladies man’ or ‘princess’, which is forcing roles of gender onto them.
It seems to me that you are less educated on the issue of gender and sexuality than the kids are. It is just too difficult for you to understand that people that have a different gender and sexuality than you don’t push that onto kids like you do.
Maybe someone needs to go back to preschool.
