The last time I ate at Benihana was about 25 years ago in Torrance. Need to hit up the Encino location. The menu prices are very reasonable.

I'm definitely going to try benihana. It's a completely different and almost exclusive experience. You don't get to watch your meal being prepared right in front of you at all!

I went yesterday for the first time and I truly enjoyed myself the food was delicious especially the shrimp! You should go we only go around this world once enjoy it and experience the good things!

Family came to visit, I had six of my nieces and nephews. Took them all to Benihana's for the chefs show.
Blew their minds. Thank you Benihana's for giving us such a show. I forgot the chef's name but he was magnificent with the twirling and the cooking and the Magnificent show he put on for us. Thank you so much. We will definitely return. Food was great by the way LOL

Great experience. The best show that you can see at a restaurant. Were heading to the Torrance benihana on Tuesday the 23rd at 430pm with my parents and my aunt and my cousin who are visiting from El Salvador will be there. Recommend going to Japan for teppinyaki...done in an unhurried, meticulous manner ..pure perfection..and the timing of each course ...well like a Swiss watch..haha

How is the tipping done primarily?
His cooking not following proper benihana's step by step, checking order after cooking chicken, but i still enjoy his performance, and what a nice cooking chef hunter 🎉

Seems a lot of Japanese steakhouses have done away with the shrimp appetizer and stopped "butterflying" and cutting the shrimp. I used to be you also got bean sprouts with the vegetables. I'd gladly pay more for what it was like in the late 70s and early 80s when the chef's really took their time...
You have to try wabi Sabi in chino the same thing at have the price

They hardly give you any meat I've been to Benihana's before and I was like why are you giving them part of my food they chop the food up and then they prepare it but they don't put much meat

Always though food was OK very over priced for the quality, its about the show.. Small bowl of fried rice is extra and it's highly mediocre. Lobster and shrimp small.
Unfortunately $30 off is based on buying another dinner for full price so not even buy one get one free. More like buy one get 2nd for 50% off.
Do most people leave a separate tip for the chef or all in one there?

Ive always been embarrassed when they come out and sing happy birthday only on my birthday at 66 and eating out many bdays. I liked they keep it short. Whats egotistical? Steve didnt ask them too. When you present bday coupon its no longer a suprise like the discount and free dessert its part of the deal. Maybe could say allergic to singing waiters

Due to vodka usage for the volcano and consumer complaints, it's now thrown away.
And BTW , cleaning the grill while the patrons are still at table/ eating...is just pure Wrong!!!
