Imagine, there was a point in time where this truck sat on a dealership lot around the year 2000 or 2001. It had a new truck smell, no scratches, no dings, when you started the engine, it was extremely quiet. It was all stock and sat at a normal height for an F-250. Everything actually worked in it and it could seat probably five people. One day back in that period of time, that truck made someone very happy when they drove it home from the dealership. I’ve seen a few of these trucks local to me. You never pointed it out but I loved the sway bar links about 2ft long and as skinny as my pinky finger.

As a Brit it amazes me that you don't seem to have an annual safety check (ours is called an MOT) for older cars so you don't get death traps like this on your roads. If you don't have your car MOT in the UK your not insured. So if they catch you on the number plate recognition they can arrest you ban you from driving, maybe jail you and crush your car.
@@daveassanowicz186inspections are not required for vehicles of a certain age. We do need to check emissions in most states every 2-4 years... I guess air quality is more important than road worthiness
In like 98% of the towns and cities in the states you are condemned to a slow agonizing financial death if you can't drive. Europe has alright public transportation, ours isn't even good enough to be called a joke in most places. If you are starting off with nothing you can't afford to have a new car and you can't afford a flawless old car, your options are all going to have some kind of quirk or issue that would get it flagged at an inspection despite being safe for the most part. Now you have another homeless person contributing nothing to society or a larger suicide statistic. My brother had to take a bus to get somewhere while he was looking for a used car and it turned a 15 minute commute into a 2 hour commute. That was like 30 minutes from downtown Chicago in the suburbs, in rural areas you're probably better off tying yourself to a bunch of balloons and hoping the wind eventually blows you to your destination.
If someone has the time and just really liked that truck, it could be saved. The fact that the frame isn't rusted in half is a huge plus, and something you don't find up here in Michigan, so there's that.
Did this person bring their vehicle to you for diagnostics? I mean I realize that people have individual taste that might not align with yours. The truck is poorly maintained but if a customer brings you their vehicle and you put it on social media and make fun of it and them that doesn't sound like a great image for your buisness.
You had me laughing my ass off when you told him “get your car off the truck before it gets infected, it’s gonna give it an STD”!!! That is funny right there!!! Thanks Ray!!
v10 Triton 2v doesn't have phasers, doesn't have the same tensioners, and it is not as problematic as the 5.4l 3v. Valve cover is different, and you can see that there is not vct solenoids on the cover, so no cam phasers. love the work you do
There's these machines that can makes something valuable out of that truck. You put the truck in the machine, it does some magic, and you get a 1m cube out that weighs as much as a truck and is worth about $100 in scrap metal.
I have a 05 Ford v10, after replacing the timing chains, rebuilding trans and new clutch, then a bunch of electrical problems with starting and fuel system, I have a great work truck. Starts every time now. Final issue was the ignition switch was not turning on the fuel system every time. And the fuse box was bad, sent it to be rebuilt.
Sad to see what was once a nice truck transformed into a rolling junkyard. I can't believe someone would even bring this to Ray's shop. He's a mechanic, not a miracle worker. You'd need divine intervention to get this disaster safe to drive again.
Some poor dad, just trying to salvage anything from his years of hard work, and wasted $... This thing is a rolling condom commercial!!! $100 says some moron out there is still making monthly payments on this POS...
...mechanically it can brought back easily enough and the stickers can be removed...budget wise it's not worth it though as you could buy another one cheaper.
So what did he want done with that POS? Was there a specific ailment that finally sent it to the shop? Looks like a nice parts unit with no rust in the body. Beyond that - I wouldn't touch it based on the fact you'd never get paid.
ya, im watching cringing at it all but man id take it off his hands and fix all the dumb stuff. up here as long as its rust free anything is worth fixing. lol
As long as the body's straight, yep. Enough parts around to probably make a decent truck, as long as nothing of the original besides the frame remains LOL
I'm from Michigan and the truck is probably not rotted!!! If the owner wouldn't have destroyed it that truk is a keeper up here but gees to many issues!!!!!
My ex worked at a Ford call center. If you knew the various safety and mechanical problems that management were telling reps to cover up, you’d rethink being a Ford guy. Not to mention the production/quality issues surrounding replacement parts. Ford has gone down the gutter from the days of ole.
I have a feeling people who do this to their vehicle have small D issues. There's no way they're not compensating for something with these ridiculous unsafe modifications.
Another Ford owner here. The only items I consider usable for parts are the CB radio, the speakers, the seat covers, and the stereo system with the microphone. Oh, and the bumper guard, too, but it won't fit on my 1997 F350.
I haven't seen it in a while, but there's another twin up here in Washington state. It might've been the truck in this video, but who knows, maybe the guy REALLY got around!
@RainmanRaysRepairs I really like your personality and videos but I feel that this time I must correct you. The SKAR AUDIO or any decal on your vehicle advertising your electronics within is an ADVERTISEMENT to all criminals to steal it and the brand they will be getting. So if you want your stuff stolen, advertise on the outside what is inside.
Trust me thats a shop's name And if they did that work i would not advertise. Once someone looked in he would be looking for something with a Karco in it. Don't know what Karco is ask someone that is in there 60s.

thoroughly and without shame ...😂😂😂😂
Those rear springs and lift blocks looks like its one good pothole away from becoming a squatted truck 😂
The most worrying thing about this is that this thing was on the road previously.
It’s really hard to believe when you look at it now.

@@UhBuddy1976 LOL,,, I often wonder about the cars I've owned in the past. The only brand new car I've ever owned was a 97 cavalier with a stick shift.
I wonder if it's out somewhere rusting in a junkyard. It makes me sad LOL
@@erich6860 who knows? I’ve seen some Cavaliers go well over 200,000 miles (surprisingly) though that were manual transmissions. So it is hard to say I’ve only owned one brand new vehicle and it was a 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage manual transmission and I 99% guarantee you it’s still not on the road. You see very, very, very few of those cars still around
@UhBuddy1976 yep. Makes me sad. I would have kept it stock and literally just get tints on it😂. Done. Great truck if it's STOCK
That truck has been rode hard and put up wet many times. It's actually a miracle it still runs.
I had a nightmare that I owned this truck. I woke up screaming and sweaty, shaking like leaf. Then I realized it was just a terrible dream and I was happy and relieved!😂😮😅😊🤪
Screaming, sweaty, and shaking like a leaf describes how it handles, too.
As an f250 owner, I am embarassed by that poor thing. Mine is stock and will never be abused ( in all manner ) like that, because I have a sense of pride.
I mean, if it's lifted and done like that (visually) but it's done correctly than it's fine. Usually isn't done correctly though lol

This is the perfect example of what NOT to do to your truck.
I’ve seen a few of these trucks local to me. The bed is usually held on by hopes and prayers and you’ll see them in the ditch either missing a wheel because the spacer let go or the axle is behind the bumper being held on by a brake line because the 1ft long ubolts finally rusted out. You never pointed it out but I loved the sway bar links about 2ft long and as skinny as my pinky finger.
I’m unable to imaging bringing this thing to a mechanic and NOT feeling huge embarrassment.
IDK, I've seen enough Whistling Diesel to know that some people are both shameless, AND idiots!

We do require inspections in most states. The US South is inbred though
@@daveassanowicz186inspections are not required for vehicles of a certain age. We do need to check emissions in most states every 2-4 years... I guess air quality is more important than road worthiness
Too many "small government" states.

My thoughts exactly. Send it North.
I love the 99-04s tough trucks. Lots of good drivetrains up here in rusted out bodies.
Did this person bring their vehicle to you for diagnostics? I mean I realize that people have individual taste that might not align with yours. The truck is poorly maintained but if a customer brings you their vehicle and you put it on social media and make fun of it and them that doesn't sound like a great image for your buisness.

Sad to see what was once a nice truck transformed into a rolling junkyard. I can't believe someone would even bring this to Ray's shop. He's a mechanic, not a miracle worker. You'd need divine intervention to get this disaster safe to drive again.
That and a Butt load of money.

I think someone brought it in to prank Ray.
So what did he want done with that POS? Was there a specific ailment that finally sent it to the shop? Looks like a nice parts unit with no rust in the body. Beyond that - I wouldn't touch it based on the fact you'd never get paid.
