- It's been a long time since we posted any videos but it has been an extremely challenging few months. To all our loyal subscribers and channel followers we really appreciate your patience and support!
A terminal diagnosis with elderly parents, a house move, shoulder surgery and the loss of our beloved Labrador, "Bailey," all meant a very difficult time.
A massive thanks to all the staff and residents of The Hawthorns retirement village in Northampton for looking after Sue's parents so brilliantly - we can't thank you enough!
This short break was a gift for Sue's birthday and was extremely timely and desperately needed.

Life has its challenges aplenty, however whilst you both seem to have had your fair share it is so nice to see you back in the saddle and I have no doubt I speak for everyone who follows your channel in expressing our gratitude for the time taken to 'entertain' us with your travels and equally our sorrow for your recent circumstances. You’ve survived through the times that life throws at us all. Testimony that time stands still for no-one. Onwards and upwards is always the best path to choose as I’m sure you’ll agree. I had to stop the video to type this comment because it made me smile.......these videos are the Moto equivalent to Wish You Were Here! A program for which I have fond memories of whilst growing up. I remember my Father watching it but perhaps he just fancied Judith Charmers because we never did go on holiday! 😂 Welcome back both. 👍🏻👊🏻

I was only thinking this week "I wonder what Brian and Sue are doing?" and all is now revealed. Life throws you curve balls and just when you think you're done, another one comes along. Losing a pet and family illnesses are always difficult and challenging. I've been there and can empathise with what you are feeling. Just have to keep on smiling. And Happy Birthday Sue.

Sorry to hear about your mum be so unwell Sue, and of course Bailey. Nothing like a bit of downtime with great company. Mine was definitely not being on the road, but on a trail. I hiked the GR221 - The Drystone Trail, in Mallorca, 88 miles in 8 days! Total ascent 5,500 metres.... it was amazing!!

Having just moved my aged mother to an assisted-living community, I can empathize with all the complications, both logistical and emotional, that move entails. And to also deal with the loss of a four-legged family member and physical ailments shows that you’re both made of stern stuff. In any case,it’s a delight to have you back.

The weather here in Ireland isn't good currently , but that is supposed to change and the end of July is looking promising. Hopefully you'll get similar weather for this years trip and the videos are just as enjoyable, and that riding the west coast of Ireland will help some way in getting over life's challenges.

Sorry to hear about Bailey, he looked a lovely boy; devastating to loose a dog, in many ways worse than loosing a friend or family member. Lost my 13 year old Golden Retriever (Sadie) a while back and I still say “good night” to her every night even though I’ve re-homed Dave, another Golden 🦮

On another note: Six weeks ago now I had a RTC on my push bike taking a 'quiet' back road to avoid all the summer holiday traffic down here in Penwith Cornwall area, as a result my Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro (RED with silver luggage I might add:-)) will not be ridden now for a good few months (missing out on all this nice weather too!). I unwittingly gained speed on my pushbike to 28mph down hill and went round a back lane corner only to find a land rover and campervan stationary trying to pass each other, I had to ram (est. 25mph) between them. Multiple injuries including cut and black right eye (face planted the road helmet on), grazed knee, hip, sprained left elbow and wrist and finally broken right non-displaced proximal humerus and displaced distal clavicle fracture. Pain pain pain! Now still recovering after six weeks with months of physio to follow. I can't drive or ride for a few months more or lift anything. Aim of cycling was to build up my fitness having gone through a right lung pulmonary embolism last September, again didn't ride much as on blood thinners back then. 14 years ago broke five ribs on my right side smashing my right shoulder for the first time.
So, my point being, thank you for providing some excellent vids to help my mental state and get me through my issues and pain, you're back I can start watching again:-) Whilst I may not ever ride a push bike ever again on the roads at 55 years young I've stopped short of selling my Triumph and look forward to September when I 'hope' to have built my strength back up again, I'm taking a look at the "Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 Airbag vest" to stop further bad trauma to my right should\arm
ibs.
Fingers crossed my recovery will go smoothly, but only able to lift my shoulder an inch or so for now:-(

How lovely to have you back on the channel! Sorry to hear that life has been putting some major challenges in your direction. It has a habit of doing that from time to time, doesn't it. I hope your shoulder is on the mend, Brian. My 2023 biking year came to an abrupt end in May on day 2 of a 9 day tour of my adopted Scotland. I lost my footing whilst manoeuvring to park on the 'Skyfall' road at Glencoe and over we went. I landed heavily on my shoulder and pretty much separated my shoulder from my clavicle (discocated AC joint with ruptured tendons). Hopefully an op in the near future will get me back on The Strom.
Glad you enjoyed your break at Tewkesbury Park. I have stayed a few times, although a while back now. Worcestershire is my home, so I know the area well.

Hopefully the months ahead are kinder to you both.. it's great to see you back.. I understand the shoulder surgery. I had an extensive surgery on my left shoulder and it knocked me out of biking for some months.. and I think you were right to turn back.. when things start to line up against you on a bike, don't push it, just accept it's not for today, tomorrow always comes. 😊
