Great to see you guys back on the road , loved the last Series of your Wild Atlantic Way trip , always entertaining Episodes from you both ,we're looking forward to the next one , stay safe guys 👍🏻
Great to see peoples trips to Ireland, going on our 4th bike trip there in just over a week. Exploring the north anticlockwise from dublin, no plan just wing it and see where we end up👍🏻🍻
Thanks Gary - we love going to Ireland - one of our favourite places to visit! Hope you have a great trip and especially hope you have some decent weather 🤞 we had some really interesting weather this time 😬⛈️☔️☀️!
@midlifemotorcyclediaries we've been pretty lucky with the weather on our previous trip, not much of the wet stuff, 🤞 it's the same this time, but waterproofs will be packed😁
Totally agree with your comment. the road to Dinas Mawddwy but turn right at the T junction and over the top back to Bala is stunning. Did it in June this year when the weather was very dry and hot.
Great to see these videos as you are following in our footsteps now from our July excursion. It's hard to know exactly where you are as I type this, but I wanted to offer some suggestions. I'll try and keep a couple days ahead of you. When you get to Ballycastle, we'd suggest turning left on the loop road that heads north to Downpatrick Head. Well worth the walk out to the edge of the cliffs. Incredible sea stack and very few visitors in comparison to the usual tourist sites. When you get up to Donegal and head west, get off N56 and take the loop road past Killybegs so you can stop at Slieve League (Carrigan Head). When you arrive at the Slieve League parking lot, pay the small fee that allows you to take the bikes all the way to the cliff's edge. (That way you don't have to walk the roughly one mile uphill!) The views are stunning! And while my attachment to Guiness is as strong as yours, if you haven't tried a Smithwicks (pronounced "Smiddicks"), you might find a surprise rival. More tips to come as we follow your trip and our memories. Joe & Deb
Thank you Joe and Deb🙏 great tips for the next time - we’re back home now and did go to some of the sites but sadly brought the wrong weather with us! Downpatrick Head was in terrible weather, rain and strong winds - got a real soaking ☔️⛈️☔️⛈️! Apparently we picked the wettest July in 10years 😬 great tip about Slieve League for next time! While the Guinness is that good I can’t see me ever being tempted away! Thanks for watching and we really appreciate your input! 😀👍
Gidday Brian and Sue Great job on the video. Yeah I like the back ground music, not a big fan of talking thru the video, otherwise all you would hear from me is it Beer Oclock yet LOL. Looked like a great Ride and a nice Town to stay in. Dam that Guiness🍺 looked mighty fine Going down Brian😀 Great Stuff Cheers paul 👍👍🍻🍻
Thanks Paul - that Guinness is really good! Glad you enjoyed this episode - sadly, a damaged external hard drive meant a lot of footage was lost 😡 still, managed to recover a lot of it! 😀👍
Lovely video. Lake Vyrnwy is indeed a man-made reservoir (and caused much controversy) as was the result of the enforced flooding of a village called Llanwyddyn. You can still see buildings during droughts. Really enjoy your travels. Ride safe, LJ
Hey guys, great to see u back to finish your wild Atlantic way trip. Enjoyed your first part and appreciate your positive views of our beautiful country, especially when the weather goes your way. I've seen some routes I've yet to travel. Usually head abroad, Pico's, Germany etc when I get the chance, as Ireland isn't cheap to ride around, especially as a solo traveler.
Thanks very much 🙏 we loved Ireland (especially when the sun shines! ☀️) and the WAW is just part of the country - there are so many other roads we’d love to ride! We also loved the Picos when we went in 2019 - so many places so little time! 😀👍
A very enjoyable video to watch along with the very agreeable music. Did enjoy watching Brian’s first gulp of Guinness ( always the longest one ! ) , after a long day in the saddle. Well deserved and well done..thank you Brian and Sue for the hard work, and looking forward to the rest of the tour! Greetings from Berlin, Jim
@midlifemotorcyclediaries Unfortunately, riding in the wet takes away some of the joy of riding a motorcycle. It also makes it difficult to get nice footage. I'm sure you made the best of it 👍
@@Banditmanuk you’re absolutely right Richard! No matter how positive you are the weather can make or break a trip 😬⛈️ - just have to make the best of it! 🤷♂️
I love biking around vyrnwy, if when going around lake you take the next right you go over the mountain top and can still turn right for bala! 😁Cant wait for the next episode!! Woohoo! 👍👍
I’m so happy to see you back in the saddle(s). I love the scenery: with our plans scuppered for a British vacation this year, we’re living vicariously through your experience. Many thanks.
Thanks very much Lee 🙏 glad you enjoyed it - unfortunately we had a problem with the external hard drive so some footage was lost 😬 over the next few days - still managed to recover most of it! 🤞😀
Welcome back to Ireland Sue and Brian. You picked a bad month as July was the wettest July since records started. Shrug off the rain and enjoy your trip. Looking forward to series 2 videos.
Great to see you back after what sounds like a difficult time. Looking forward to some inspirational videos, you two get on so well I'm sure you'll beat the weather issues!
Really good to see you back on the WAW That meal looked delicious and can't wait to see the remainder of the series. I'm hoping to get a few days in Ireland myself in September 🤞
According to people who live there, Shrewsbury is supposed to be pronounced Shrew (as in the rodent) and not “Shrow”. Superb ride through Mid-Wales, there. Great video.
Thanks Nigel, we thought that too! But last time we stayed there and talked to a local it seemed to be different depending upon which side of the river you lived! 😂😀👍
You pay for breakfast at a bed and breakfast? Curious. Surprised you didn’t have to pay extra for the bed. Reminds me of having dinner a sea food restaurant near where I live in Southern California. Dinners were offered with a choice of two side dishes. I couldn’t resist testing this and ordered fish and chips, then asking for two different side dishes. The chips, I was told, constituted a side dish. I argued that they couldn’t be a side because they were the dinner itself. We went round and round in a good-natured way, knowing it was an argument I couldn’t, but should have, won. It was great fun anyway.
Excellent vlog a credit to you both, the editing must have taken forever? Memories of Bala, three penalty points and £100 fine for driving at 35 mph in a 30 zone when exiting Bala on a wide, empty road in perfect driving conditions, the 'trap' was obviously aimed at bikers that were plentiful over the week we spent there, never seen as many mobile speed camera vans in that area even on Anglesey in the evening. Raining in Ireland, now there's a surprise. Ride safe.
Thanks Lee and Jan🙏 that’s a bad memory of Bala 😱 don’t like traps 😳 - the rain was pretty awful at times - obviously lulled into a false sense of security in WAW part 1! 😀👍
I did the Atlantic way … it was so beautiful. Super craic in the Irish pubs .. *However* I would strongly say … “Don’t bother” ! why ? Scotland and the Hebrides is simply so much better ! Better scenery, better food and utterly breathtaking motorcycling ….
Hooray, your back proper! 😃 🎉
