- Travel with Trey to the dive bars that dot the landscape of Ocean City, Maryland. Go forth into the seedy and dark underbelly of the tourist restaurant and bar industry where drinking spots can easily get lost in the afterglow of the multi-million dollar restaurants that fight for tourist dollars. Visit the oldest bar in Ocean City and the oldest bar on the famous boardwalk. Check out where the bikers come to play. See the tributes to our first responders. And have a few whiskey shots with me along the way!

The Purple Moose and the Frog Bar always had the best beach babes chugging beers down and wearing that coconut sexy sun tan lotion. Man, I loved those old days !

I worked at Daisey’s Wheel House in 1991 … it was a biker dive bar. I was a college student and it paid the rent bartending.
Awesome video Local bars in OC are the best. We go to Ocean City typically by Route 90 or Route 54
Sure miss BJ's on the Bay which was at 78th street Bayside had been going there since the 1980s even on New Years Eve they were open all year round
And B J ’s had a smaller place around 6 or 7

Worked in OC from 86 - 95. You did a great job. When I lived downtown and had the night off, Harbor Inn was the call to have a couple cold ones and not worry about anybody gettin out of hand or overly drunk. Nice call on Ponzetti's on the northside. A neighborhood feel with people just doing their own thing.

id add the bar at Bonfire is pretty divey too and been there for YEARS. wile most people on see the tourist buffet lines theres its bar is pretty good. and the Original Greene Turtle is still very much a locals bar for Baltimore sports fans

Bonfire....not going to lie. A bunch of us in our late 20's would roll in there on a weeknight in pursuit of the "older women". Hit or miss but when your 20 somethin doen the shore who really cares.
I remember when the Original Greene Turtle just said Tavern out front, had ceramic turtles in the windows a spiral staircase fooseball upstairs and only had peanuts. We would bring in Pizza Tugos and drink beers by the pitcher lol good ole days
Great video Trey. My favorite bar in your list is the Harbor Inn. I’ve been going there for years. Everyone there is friendly to you as long as you don’t act like an A Hole. Hanging on the “patio” outside having a smoke is enjoyable. I never knew that Coins beer looked that good! Cheers bud!

I’ve been going to Kirby’s Pub since 2000. I can’t believe you didn’t mention the steamed shrimp and onions or the Kirby fries. The ceiling used to be covered with dollar bills. And how they got there is a question you can ask next time you’re there. Enjoyed the video. By the way, today is July 11 2021. All is well on the Delmarva peninsula. 🍻🖖

My buddy's brother owned the the Frog Bar. I thought it was cool AF! Only place where you can see the offshore rigs roll in with flags up or tails up!

I worked the Inlet Bar in 1977, that cigarette machine was there then!

I also worked waiting tables for Cadillac Jacks on the boards. It was owned by the Purple Moose.

Ed was the best. Really respected him. Was a tough nut to crack. But the man taught me some life lessons whether he meant it not. He also helped a few guys who worked for him eventually become bar owners.

Good choices. I’ve been to most of them 😂 I love the Moose, Bobby and John are great guys and the bands are great. Love the 80’s cover bands they have. Miss the Old Dutch bar. Funny that the “Bar” looks like it’s stuck in time. The food board on the wall is out of the 70’s and so are the chairs. I love Mother’s for margaritas though. Great video 👍🏼
I've never been to The Bar but I'm going to go when things open up again. I am trying to visit all dive bars in Ocean City. Ya gotta have goals!

Frog is now gone hope they open in another location and the Cork Bar is great don't waste your time going to the Bearded Clam.
Cork bar was my favorite didn’t get a chance to try any on the streets

I don't actually drink alcohol. But, I have been to Coins twice, for the food. They have a good Early Bird special menu available from 4-6 p.m. The food is great, for the price.
Nice vid. Have not seen a coin operated cigarette machine in over 25 years. Heard that they are illegal in most states. Been going down to OC twice a year last 20 years and never saw halve of these bars.
Awesome! I hope it provides some inspiration to go out and visit them next time you are down. You meet some of the most authentic and salt of the earth people in dive bars!

Peppers Tavern on the boardwalk use to be my favorite dive bar in OC! It kills me that it is no longer open!!!
One place that is still open & I consider a dive bar is Brass Ball Saloon.
I cant believe I used to drive for three hours from Baltimore just to eat Bull on the Beach and Ponzettis. Everyone there has type 2 diabetes!

The Frog Bar is no more. Won't be there in 2021. That whole area is being replaced, FB being torn down, and a new place called Bandit's will be replacing it. All the little shops in that area will be gone as well, replaced by open air dining stands. The Bar is definitely a dive bar. Don't get food there if you value your health. Harbor Inn has pretty good food! Not the fanciest, but good food. Purple Moose is decent, good drinks. And it's always fun around 10 o'clock to watch the drunks stumble out. Coins..........don't consider it a dive bar. You can't beat their crab cakes and steaks. Buxy's is definitely NOT a dive bar! NICE place, good food, and perfect place to go if you're a Steelers/Pirates/or Penguin fan.

The only way youre gonna get a buzz in these bars is if you drank your own stuff before you go in to any of them. Purple Moose will do their best to serve you but you wont get a buzz there or at a lot of places. OC Bars are not trying to get ppl drunk Lol!

You haven't been to OC in while, have you? The Dutch Bar closed over a decade ago. Best Western is now Wyndham. I hit Cork Bar and Bearded Clam in the video.

I saw that. I believe they are turning that whole area into a pavillion with outdoor seating and open concept restaurants.
They are remodling Coins.
