- How to Change you Disk Brakes on you Pontiac Vibe or Toyota Matrix. I got Lifetime Free Replacement Disc the first time I replaced the brakes so the Second Time replacing them was almost free. I did have a Couple of big oops but overall you should get the just of what to do. I choose not to replace the rotors because they seemed to be fine.

Thanks for the practical video, my fiancee will appreciate having her brakes refreshed!
brian gehring Anytime thanks for stopping by - Charles
Watched video and then changed my brake shoes, a piece of cake
Thanks for the video. You made it look easy. Inspired me to change my own front and back.
Bud Diaz Thanks Glad I could Help I just made a new DIY changing my Blower Motor that just went out - Charles
I just viewed it. Another good one.
Bud Diaz Unless your's is different from mine, there's drums on the rear. Thanks for the video CC, glad to see people willing to help others save a little $$ on simple DIY video's.
koaheart Mine was a Nissan Maxima, there are pads in the rear too .
I like to say, “Don’t mess with Texas” after a successful completion of a repair job. Then I KNOW it’s done. Nothing rhymes with British Columbia so I borrow Texas.
Suggestion to use a torque wrench. Caliper bolt torque = 25ft/lbs. Engineers don't calculate fastener specs for fun.
Thanks so much! Great video
Not necessary to remove both Caliper bolts. You can slide the caliper up by removing one screw and loosening other
Okay so that was the part number for a 2009 Pontiac vibe. What abut for a 2010 pontiac vibe???
That was for a 2004 to 2008 vibe ORiley’s show a sc1211 for a base model fwd 2009 to 2010 vibe not sure if it a GT or AWD models the same. make sure you verify with parts store before you buy
thanks. I will do myself now.
Thanks for this! This is one the only video I saw that let me know that I don't have to take the calipers completely off just to change the pads, and thanks for that screwdriver trick, it came in handy! Also, every other video showed cracking open the Bleeder Valve, which I see you didn't do at all. That's fine, right? Like it's not causing any issues so long as my only problem is brake pads?
Again, thanks, buddy! I'd buy you a beer if I could.
Phillip Roberts Thanks for stopping by I've had not had any trouble by not bleeding because I didn't let any air into the line - Charles
Cr Cook that's what I figured. Thanks for the quick reply!
Do you have to put your parking brake on or off? Secondly, did you open the brake fluid cap on the hood when you did your brake pad change sir? Please reply ASAP thanks in advanced. :)
Jay Pineda I had the parking brake on . The fluid cap on did not matter I never added any brake fluid so when I pushed the calipers open the fluid did not overflow out of the brake master cylinder. If you added fluid to you brake system then you will need to open the fluid cap and take out excess flied so it does not overflow - Charles
great video thanks
The problem with leaving the old rotors on is that they are glazed. They run red hot and carbon permeates the surface creating a hard slick layer. The pads skate on it. They are really cheap and brakes are important, why not do it all?
+carbidegrd1 The problem is that just because I did not change the rotors they did not change in the one second between old pads and new pads the old pads were working great as I said in the video their was no braking problem so I felt like it was not needed next time I will replace everything with new parts and not turn the rotors but replace them should of it been done probably but its been over a year and a half and the car stops perfectly so far - Charles
you look exactly like you sound.. and have some crazy birds.. you do brakes same way I do I only looked to see if they had ebrake shoes
Yea the birds keep thing messy Thanks for watching - Charles
Thank you sir! (:
Best one
I'm a female living by myself and i don't have any male friends around to help me. By watching this video, could i do it all by myself without help??
is pad same with altis or camry
Probably close mostly the technology for disk brakes are the same for all just with slight differences - Charles
mine won't just "pull them out"
Robert Hicks That's Strange mine did yours could have some kind of dust build up can you carefully pry them out? - Charles
Hey, thank you for the reply Charles. It took a little doing but I got them out. Thanks for uploading your video. Helped me get through my day a little smoother. Have a good one!
