Cool vid man! I’ve had a couple of really fun days there where it seemed like every cast I threw I got bit all around the lake. But lately no luck, would be cool to go out there with you sometime and learn how you catch all these fish! I live a couple miles away and am planning on heading there tomorrow morning.

Do you just put a size 4 hook and warn with no weight and throw under the bridge?
That’s exactly what I do man. These tilapia are seasonal. Once the water and weather gets cold they move it if there. Good luck!!!

Hello! I’ve almost quit fishing a while back because I could never catch any fish. I haven’t caught a fish in months I think a year by now. I was wondering what kind of bait you use and if you use and weights. I kind of want a guaranteed setup that I can use when I go to Lake Balboa. Thank you!
I feel you. One day at Kern River i caught 17 fish.. Today.. cant catch sh*T. I use salmon eggs, the green powerbait, meal worms or night crawllers. You can find worms at Turners.
What kind of bait do you use at balboa because u barley get anything if I start using jet air sinkers would that change

Went fishing today and was targeting carp and not much luck but this kid who fishes near us did have 1 carp run but bent out his hook and my friend caught a tilapia

Yes strictly catch and release don’t take none of the fish, they don’t even stock it anymore

Na I wouldn’t tbh balboas water has lot of contaminates and who knows what else that water has.

I wouldn’t eat anything that comes out of balboa…unless u want to catch something haha
