Esthetician here. After very strong peels, we tested Aquaphor on one set of clients and Vaseline on the other side of clients. Result clients that used Aquaphor had skin care reactions like rashes. The ones using Vaseline had no reaction on their skin. From that point on we stopped using Aquaphor

Aquaphor has lanolin in it - it maybe an allergic reaction, especially if you're applying it to the eye area.

yes!I used aquaphor on my face a few months ago, I often use vaseline or simple Eucerin all over my face -but within 4 days I got à horrible rash allover my face. all id put on my face was Aquaphor and a twice a day light wasm water wash. I'll stick with my vaseline and jar of Eucerin, I tossed the other.

I did watch your video on milia, but I had a rough time attempting to do it myself, although I have done it once before up on the high cheekbones, but never that close to my eye. But I too got several milia‘s from using too much moisturizer under my eyes…. And by accident/hunch I decided to try my Cereva SA cleanser under my eyes. I wet my face, like I’m washing it which I was. Put a good layer on smeared it under my eyes and I left it on for 2 to 3 minutes, per Dr. Dray instruction, then I rest it was very warm water, and then finished with cool tapwater, I kid you not, within one to two days of doing this they were all gone !!!!!!! and my skin felt super soft no digging required! So now, I make it a habit to do this routine once or twice a week to keep them at bay. I just thought I’d share my two cents, experience. Maybe it will help someone.

Back in my late 20’s to early 30’s, I was walking around with my friend and spotted a woman with the most beautiful, youthful, glowing skin so I struck up a conversation with her and she told me all she used was Vaseline and that she disclosed to that she was 53 years old at the time, to my surprise. Now I’m 50, adopted her Vaseline tip, and I’m the one with the youthful glowing skin and get stopped in the street by compliments. Vaseline works! Another plus is that it actually cleared up all the black little sebaceous filaments on my nose.

I am SO glad I found yoyr site by accident! I often wondered uf anyone would ever do a page deconstructing facial products & skin care by ingredients. I am in o way a makeup professional but I gave myself a layman'seducation in chemistry from the early 70s up til now & have always wondered if I should do experimental stuff abt the effects certain ingredients seem to have on my skin, now that I'm starting to hear my own "complaints/observations" coming from much younger women.
Theonething that drew me in rt away was your references toVaseline!I have actually bern using this as an augmentation to my regukar skin care ALL MY LIFE. So I can voych fir how well it works when combined w/regular, currently popular skin care routines. 😉

😊❤ I could only afford Vaseline as an eye makeup and reg makeup remover when I was in my 20’s. I’m 64 and still love it! Better than Micellar water by far and way cheaper. How did I know to use it? I read an article in a ladies magazine way back in the late 70’s. I will say that the tube of aquafor made for baby is the same as the jar of aquafor. It’s very thick and 41%. For those of us who despise digging in a jar, this is an alternative to use on those extreme dry patches. I’m sure moms of diapered babies find the tube way more convenient. But Vaseline is even cheaper and pure!!
❤ I’d also suggest that ALL of us keep around baggies or makeup bags w a few disposable gloves. Where? in diaper bags, cars, even a few in our handbags. There r sooo many kinds of them available. Why? Tons of reasons! Diaper changing, pumping gas, cleaning out small spaces in the car, packaging meat for freezing, cleaning at home, rubbing on pain creams in our bedrooms, etc. My husband has had a transplant and being zealous about what’s on everything we touch has become a huge deal over 9 yrs! So I began keeping disposable gloves in diff places. I can’t believe how often we use them! Not a makeup tip, but perhaps someone needs to know! ❤ your videos!! 🎉😊

Hi I just discovered your channel! So happy I did! I used Nivea lipbalm for my dry knuckles and under eyes since many years before bed. It started in high school for me. Carrying one around and hands were always dry I would appy it to my knuckles. And lack of funds for beauty creams I just applied a touch undee eyes at night as I keep a stick on my nightstand. I was curious if Acquafor was better.
This reminds me of when margarine came out as the butter alternative and a bunch of new health issues began. I went back to butter after being made afraid of it since childhood. Guess what? I noticed better skin, as in more plump, texture and retaining hydration, healthier hair and my thyroid is more stable. Butter like Vaseline is under rated.
My mom only ever used Nivea original on her face and Vaseline for other areas. And Dove soap. She never had wrinkles, never wore makeup until she passed at 78. She was youthful, naturally beautiful always. Poverty cornered her into being simple, but it actually helped. I pray that I age like she did. I just went back to Nivea lip balms and original cream. They are the best for hydration! The scent is wonderful. Don’t break what works. Cerave is good as a non greasy body cream but it is overhyped. But Vaseline is a MUST. You can apply it to cuts, burns, rashes, face, as a makeup remover ( what I do), as a primer, as an overnight foot and hand softer under gloves or socks, as a dry hair tips conditioner, as an anti rusting for your car or any bolts nuts etc, as a water proof sealer, as a conditioner for tools and garden tools.
To remove goopy sticky residue on packaging and shoe and leather conditioners. I always clean my shoes boots purses with it and condition leather couch and car seats. In small amounts. I would keep one for beauty, one for DIY, kitchen, and or garage.
Nivea and Vaseline are important if we go into an apocalypse for me anyway.
As for avocado oil in the Acquafor, i am allergic to latex so anything avocado I stay away from. They should stop using it so many ppl react and do not know avocado is in the latex family. And they keep ingesting it or using it.

Off topic but that hair color is so beautiful on you ! I need to do whatever you are doing because your skin is also fresh and clear. On topic: Both products give me milia if I use under my eyes. I like one commenters suggestion of using Cerave SA to treat so I will try that. Very informative video. Thanks 🙏🏻

What about Demi balm??? I know not everyone is familiar with Seint, so, that makes sense. But since you love Demi so much, I’m just surprised you didn’t try that first. They should work best together, right? I’m really anxious to know your thoughts! Thanks for all of the effort you put into your videos❤️

Just bought Vaseline yesterday. I do like Aquaphor for a good hand cream. Cetaphil is that good, inexpensive product recommended by a lot of derms as a mild cleanser and moisturizer for acne prone, eczema and other skin conditions. It certainly helped my skin, my daughters' skin and scores of others to calm facial skin irritation and such down. I do promote the comparable Walmart Equate brand as a cheaper, works as well product in both cleanser and moisturizer, though.

Like the game of telephone, I must not have heard it was the lip product. I thought it was the balm stick. I want to say I heard about aquaphor ointment used that way from a supermodel. It might have been a grwm with Karlie Kloss before she got off a flight. The problem is, I can’t find it! Thank you for this video. I’ve been using Vaseline for years because not only did my dermatologist recommend for help with eczema but my OB/GYN and GI doctor as well.

Petroleum jelly gets a bad rap but Vaseline brand in particular is ultra clarified and safe. It’s widely used in medicine. My Mayo dermatologist recommends it. During the two years my face was a mess due to a combination of topical steroid withdrawal and newly diagnosed allergic contact dermatitis (it took two years to recover from both), all I could use as skincare was Vaseline. It brought me so much relief, protected my skin, and when I put makeup on for work, my concealer did sit very nicely over it! I have to make my own lip balm because there is not a commercial balm in existence that doesn’t contain at least one of my allergens and I use Vaseline as one of the four ingredients in my formula. It’s wonderful.

My 98 year old Grammie used Vaseline (which with her accent was Baseline) as her facial moisturizer every day for decades. Her skin looked incredible until the day she died. Barely a wrinkle and supple texture! My sis and I would marvel at her skin. I recently had a erbium yag laser facial resurfacing and have used it every day for the past two months and plan on continuing to use it as my night moisturizer for the rest of my life. Grammie was right!

Works great under seint. It is non comedogenic and has never caused milia for me but if you are prone to milia, it could. We kind of have to be our own guinea pig

I use aquafor in the tube overnight under my eyes and it has definitely helped them look less tired and my skin is more nourished so my makeup looks better. I never thought about trying it under my makeup so I will have to do that and see. The one I use in the tube reminds me of Vaseline there might be some petroleum in there too idk.

I'm 72 and have used Vaseline on and off for probably 50 years. It's great for feet and cracked heels--just rub some on your foot and heel, put on socks and wake up to soft feet. It takes a few times to soften cracked heels. I do the same thing for my hands-put it on, sleep in gloves and my hands are so soft in the morning. I've used Vaseline on my lips forever. I never use any gloss or anything else. In the winter I occasionally used Vaseline on my face. Of course, it's very greasy so you really have to be careful not to use too much. I can't believe that concealer won't just slide off it because of how greasy it is. I'm going to try it, though. Vaseline is great for so many things--I even used it on my kids when they were babies.

Many moons ago about 40 yrs my lady driving instructor put Vaseline under her eyes her eyes were so baggy (loose skin) and wrinkled, i was an Avon lady at the time and did a lot of skin care study so I thought it was wrong to use Vaseline as its very heavy and sticky a lighter lotion is much better as we want to firm the eye area not soften it 😮
