Not only "Old Hollywood"...I grew up in the Caribbean, and anyone who performed on stage (or pageants, parades, horse shows, and the like) 40 or 50 years ago wore Vaseline, Nivea, Pond's Cold Cream, Eucerin, rose salve, or some sort of thick, slippery "balm" under makeup. (And yes, some of us wore Max Factor Pancake often!) Actually, when I saw Bobbi Brown's "Jones Road" Miracle Balm, my first thought was, "Ah, it's Aquaphor with a tint!"

I miss Max Factor Pancake makeup. It was one of my faves.

    • @irairod5160

@@sarahsunshine78 Did Max Factor Pancake look natural? NO! But oh, my, once it was on, it did not move! I used to dance/parade outdoors in 95-100 degree weather, 80% humidity, and my makeup WOULD NOT BUDGE no matter how many hours I had it on. Laying that base was like painting a car! The only other foundation I've found as long lasting (by itself, not relying on primers, setting powders, setting sprays) is Estee Lauder Double Wear. Dior Backstage is also long lasting under tropical conditions, but not quite a close second.

I'm so excited to try Aquaphor as a Primer..funny because I have a huge size I recently bought for the dry skin on my legs ....I totally forgot I had even bought it... I knew there was a reason I really bought it! Also, I have more normal 2 dry skin so I'm hoping it looks as great 👍 on me as it does on U....Thanks for all your great tips❤️❤️❤️

My really good friend has been using chapstick under her concealer for years and years because it was so cold there that it was the only way her under eyes stayed fresh looking all day long. I did that in so many videos when I started but I used a different product besides chapstick. I love when old meets new! Great job, Michelle!!!!

I bet Aquafor stock went up this week, lol! I’ll bite and try it, but I’m especially grateful to you for the One Size demo for the summer.heat!
Good to see DEMI does fine with whatever primer under the eye. Great to know French Face (which I ADORE) and Seint play well with either primer you applied!
FOR THE LOOK GOOD CLOSE UP CLUB:
I have a terrible time keeping shadow or liner on under the lower lash-line. I have recently discovered that when 03 DEMI is applied as a buffer just beneath a line of lower lash-line eyeliner (set/softened with a shadow), the lower liner doesn’t travel! Experimenting-as Michel is always encouraging-for 20 years finally worked! At least I never gave up, lol.
    Hope this helps someone else!!!

I struggle with makeup really bad. I'm 55 and I literally just did a makeup video captioning that I need advice lol and I stumbled across this! I am here for it. I love Vaseline and I did not know that you can use it as a primer but let me finish watching your video. I used to use aquaphor around my stomach area, when I wrapped it for working out. It was better than sweet sweat lol It's good to see that it is just great for everything. I need all the tips and tricks that I can get, on top of that, I really need to invest in some decent makeup. But nothing breaks my skin out accept Mary Kay, so I never really go on a hunt for expensive makeup.
I have seen makeup artist on TH-cam crediting Scott Burns for the aquaphor discovery, and I'm always thinking to myself I'm sure it came from somewhere else and you just confirmed it.

Thanks for the wonderful video! My two favorite primers are urban decay all nighter primer (not the spray but the face primer) and Laura geller hydrating (specifically the hydrating one) spackle primer. I live in hot muggy houston Texas and the urban decay all nighter primer is absolutely amazing, even in high humidity and temperatures over 100F. The hydrating Laura geller is my favorite for colder weather. Both fantastic for mature skin in my opinion. Of course these things are so personal to each person though. If you ever get bored with opinions I highly suggest them. Thanks again for the amazing video. I’ll wait to try the aquaphor trick until I go skiing this winter. I think I will love it then!

I started tretinoin almost 2 yrs ago. I found this awesome squalane stick. It gets insanely cold where I live... so between the cold and my skin flaking, I just used that squalane stick all around my face (especially my eyes). I noticed my makeup looked better, worn better, and you couldn't detect a flake.... so I just stuck writh it lol. Definitely will try Aquaphor. Thanks Michelle

I love this idea except for the millia issue! I began using mascara at 17 in 1977. Maybelline pink/green one, of course! My grandma wore it so I asked how to remove it. “Vaseline is the best eye makeup remover.” So I used it for 25 yrs at least! Cheap & worked beautifully w a soft washcloth. My mom wasn’t into face care at all & minimal makeup if going out, so I learned from her mom! Used a dove bar to wash my face. I didn’t use foundation until my 20’s, just cover girl powder & a lil blusher. I fell in ❤ w/ lip color at 20& have never looked back! I’ve heard of Seint but have yet to meet anyone who uses it! Any suggestions for a Seint newby at 63? I love the way it looks on you! ❤

I just went on Sephora to buy the one size primer. I go every year deep sea fishing for a week straight so I need something to keep my makeup on and my sweat at bay. This will be a test. I will be using multiple layers of sunblock. At sea the sun will destroy your skin. My skin barely sees the sun because I barely leave my house during normal circumstances. I wear long sleeves and leggings to keep the rest of my body safe from the sun. We go to Hampton NH. Even though we stay on the beach in a motel I don't go onto the beach. I don't know how those people just lay in direct sun. I'm 47 and I have excellent skin because I don't like being out in the sun. The heat drives me nuts. But I'm excited to see how the primer works. I like looking pretty even fishing 300ft deep waters. 😊 Long days.

You look so amazing Michelle! ❤️
I just came across one of your videos from I guess when your channel was called Clean Beauty Babe. It was your video on clean foundations. I’ve been searching for more clean makeup for the fact that almost 10 yrs ago, once in a while I was having an allergic reaction to my concealer around my eyes. Since then, as the yrs have passed it’s gotten worse to point where almost every time I wear concealer,I have a reaction! It’s not just my eyes now either, but anywhere I put the concealer! Ugh! I’ve tried so many different concealer too… both high end to drug store, trying to find one that doesn’t affect me. I thought I’d found one, but after using it for a month or so, it’s now bothering me. I’ve read you can use a product and have a reaction right away, or after using one for months or years! I usually know right away though if I’m going to react to one. Foundations under my eyes don’t cover the circles, and of course usually accentuate any texture or lines etc.
I’ve had dark circles since I was a kid. It’s hereditary with many people in my family. I’ve now got a little bit of a tear trough, so that adds to the darkness also. It doesn’t help the fact that I’m now 57, either. (What us women deal with! Lol!)
I’ve been trying to research ingredients to try and figure out what ingredients/ ingredients that are causing this allergic reaction, bc I love makeup so much! I NEVER used leave the home without any! I even put makeup in before having my 6 kids! Lol! I’ve yet to pinpoint the exact ingredient or more that’s causing this. But I think I’m getting closer.
I’m curious if you’re still into clean makeup. I loved that foundation video so much, I started to watch many of your videos and noticed you use Seint makeup. On a couple of my clean skin care and makeup apps,Seint doesn’t get the best ratings for some of the ingredients they use. But you look so lovely, and your skin looks so great in all of your Seint makeup videos, that I was wondering if the ratings I’m seeing on their products, are old ratings? I’m wondering if they do use clean, non toxic ingredients in their products now?
I have seen so many video of women our age,50+, using Seint makeup bc they’re cream based, which I’ve been wanting to start trying cream products. Any advice about Seint products and clean makeup if you have the time, would be truly appreciated!
Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos! I’m a forever fan and going to start binge watching them!😊
    God bless!❤️🙏🏻

It really requires a doctor, nurse or esthi, but we were so broke I had to learn how to get rid of them myself. Take a warm/hot damp washcolth and hold it to milia on clean skin only. Get a box of the diabetic lancets. Using a strong magnification mirror and good light, pierce the milia in one spot only. Using two fingers and a tissue or two qtips, squeeze the milia until the little lump pops out. Use alcohol to clean milia after and leave it alone, no skincare, while you sleep
