Oh my Amanda, you made me tear up at the end! Thank you for all the information you have shared with us. I’m 72 and still learning about soil and plants! Your videos have truly helped me. I’m originally from MA and to my dismay, I found that the soil and growing conditions are more difficult here, so having you announce your plant successes has been so helpful. I run out and try several of your successes! Btw, I went to the Nutcracker performance in Allen on Sunday, with my daughter and granddaughter, and thought about you, since you mentioned your daughter was dancing in the Nutcracker this year. 😊

Hi Amanda 😊 thank you for a wonderful year of content and teaching. I enjoy your channel because of the content, your teaching style, and because you present yourself as you are 👍 I liked when you took us shopping with you to garden centers etc., and the different plants/seeds you are trying for the year. Ideas for 2024 - companion planting with veggies, regenerative plants/planting, planning raised or garden beds, drip water irrigation in a bed that has different plants with different watering needs. I’m looking forward to your channel in 2024 and thank you so much for having a channel I have been inspired and have learned a LOT! 😊

I understand the discouragement … I struggle with that as well when I see the amount of money being spent or the large scale spaces … two things I do not have … it does make it tough to watch.

Love your end of the year review! I'm almost 84 years old, sharing an apartment with daughter and family..so my years of gardening are long gone. And I miss it! A few pots on the deck is the best we can do. But I sure do enjoy your gardening adventures! Thanks for sharing them, good and not so good. Love,love your use of the old, strange, discarded bits of this and that..a girl after my own heart. Thank you for sharing, can't wait to see that shade garden develop...

Amanda, your channel is wonderful. My favorite thing is how excited you are about your garden. It really makes me look at my garden differently. Sometimes it makes me sad because I don't have a lot of time to get out there, and I forget the joy it really gives me. I also come to you for outside the box ideas and budget friendly options. I had no idea that your garden was only about five years old! Here I was thinking that it would take me ages to get a set up like yours but knowing that it might only take a couple years to get there is amazing. I started watching because I searched for “flower gardening in zone 8” and there really aren’t many people talking about growing flowers around here. All the bigger channels seem to be up north somewhere.
Yes! I need to show some pictures of what my garden started as to now … it is shocking to see the difference!
I really wish gardening was a less expensive hobby because of how amazing I believe it is for us physically and mentally to connect with nature, but I think you do a great job of trying to do things economically and resourcefully. Hopefully we can find ways to make gardening accessible for more people moving forward.
Agreed … I wish it was less expensive. I hope to keep exploring ways to keep down costs.
I have enjoyed your videos from this past year. I'm especially enjoying the chrysanthemums and shade garden. You asked for feedback, here’s mine. I’ve never been disappointed in any of your videos! Sometimes, there is wind or too sunny but never anything that would cause me not to watch. I was born and raised in the DFW area and have been flower gardening for years but there is always new things to learn, as you know. So keep up the good work! It’s also amazing that you can respond to so many of your viewers where as the bigger channel people can’t so maybe bigger isn’t always better? 🤔😃

This year it’s my fall garden that I’m proud of!!! My Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower and my cool flowers!!! Can’t wait til spring

I recently found your channel, and I have been binge watching/listening to your videos while I clean or cook. I hope you don't change much because the way you explain things is great! It is concise and to the point. You give us all the information without it being overwhelming.
The videos I have loved the most have been your seedling videos. So helpful! And noone else is really doing that, taking us thru the whole journey.
Another thing I love is all the garden tours. It is so helpful when you hit the big box stores and nurseries and show us what's out there and make comparisons. You are saving us time and money.
The audio could definitely use an upgrade, but I can't think of anything else I'd change.
Your videos are like a garden chat with a friend, they are genuine.
I started using new audio equipment in January 2024, so everything before will not be as good.
Your channel is so interesting and adventurous. I love your reuse and vintage vibe. I do so much reuse and repurpose. My big one was to plant blueberry bushes in my dad’s old metal water trough. That thing has to be 50+ yrs old. We grow to love giving these things a new life. Looking forward to the new yr.

I believe that you shared a good variety of content. I've noticed that many gardening channels get the most views when they start new spaces. I think you did that; with your shade garden mostly, and especially your construction skills and for sure patio decorating. I really enjoyed the process of you creating your seed grow room, and of, always curious about what you grow in our hot texas weather. Looking forward to your 2024 content. I used to live in Ohio and Michigan and knew what and how to garden there. We are now in a temperate climate in Victoria, Australia. I am learning so much from your videos.

Amanda, my zone, 10b, could not be more different than yours. My garden is primarily part sun/part shade. Despite our zone differences, I enjoy your content. I was most excited about your shade garden and look forward to seeing you plant it up. I also enjoy watching you repurpose and construct items for your garden.

Great recap. Roses are one of the goals I have this year. I have about 50 bushes but really want to manage them well as far as maximum blooms and minimal pests. Have loved watching your channel and excited for 24!

You keep creating content that feels good to you! I do have a suggestion. I think you should incorporate some seating to the shade garden. I love your videos of roses, chrysanthemums, all the whimsical creations (my favorite), shade garden, and garden tours. I watch pretty much all the videos you create except growing seedlings. I do not grow any seedlings inside. I only throw some basil, kale, spinach and hope for the best😂 I love your content! I hope you keep creating the way you do now and your authenticity will bring even more subscribers as it should because your channel is really valuable resource for people like me who has no clue what to grow in DFW! Congratulations on a very successful 2023! I'll give you an A for all that you have done and the plethora of knowledge you've shared with us this past year. I grew up on a farm and have been gardening for over 40 years, but can honestly say I learn something new from you in almost every video you do. So, stay the course. I love your original, creative design style and always laugh when I see how many plants you can stuff into one planter. I really can't think of anything different that you need to be doing in your videos. You cover just about everything. I do especially enjoy watching you design your flower arrangements and when you show us your decorating skills inside and outside. I also think showing us your various gardening maintenance routines, especially your pruning techniques ( I'm usually screaming when I see how aggressive they are) as a lot of us don't know the best way to put our gardens to bed during the dormant season. Looking forward to seeing what is in store for us in 2024.
I’ve been thinking about showing more of my decorating habits for the inside of the house since I tend to do it on a budget with thrifted items.

Hi Amanda, my name is Ellen and I garden in zone 9a south of San Antonio. I stumbled across your channel while trying to figure out what cut flowers I could possibly grow in our south Texas heat. There isn’t much in depth information out there. I’m not a huge commenter on TH-cam. With that being said I felt the need to come on here and tell you that you have been a such a help to me in figuring out what to do and ways to go about it from a home garden perspective. Btw, if you focus on creating content about heirloom chrysanthemums as an alternate to growing dahlias, you may have a cool niche for viewers to tune in to your channel. I don't recall any other TH-cam garden channel hosts/gardeners mentioning or growing those types of heirloom flowers, other than the generic type that we see during the fall. It's just a suggestion. I wish we lived closer, maybe one day we can meet up that will be one of my goals for 2024 😊 since I lost my best friend in 2022 I really have struggled and you and gardening are slowly bringing some joy back in my life! I have a very small garden as well, so the companion planting with vegetables and flowers would be extremely helpful and make hubby happy lol! I love the style of your content! It’s definitely very relevant to me as I live in the same area as you. I’d love to see more information on starting hydrangeas as they’re one of my favorites. I also would love more information on how to start an irrigation system for the garden.
