I love your pitchers, great idea planting the amaryllis bulbs in them. They are going to be beautiful with the white flowers. I love alyssum, I just throw down the seeds in the spring and let them grow outside.
I just want to say u are getting really good at forming ur videos! Placement of reminder for like and subscribing, the music intro, the writing the to do list on paper in cursive, all of that is really proffessional and i love it! I like seeing that things are going well for your channel. I just wanted to say i appreciate the changes!
Love your pottery and the explanation of salt glaze. The amaryllis will look fantastic in the pitchers. I also bought a selection of non red amaryllis on %50 off sale from Gardeners Supply. I put mine in old copper pots, without, drainage holes so was interested that you only water once and sparingly. Agree, your videos are getting more and more professional but still enjoy that you are a relatable home gardener.
Well, I wasn't going to start alyssum this year as it hasn't been super successful in past years, but after watching this video, I'm determined to give it another shot!! Thx for the inspiration from way up north in south eastern MN!
Loving your new intro. Thanks for the growing tips. Alyssum is so dainty and pretty. I have it mixed in with strawberries. And have self down in my container balcony garden.
Just an idea, when you mention putting vermiculate on top of the soil, you might want to add that it not only retains the moisture, but keeps those nasty gnats away from the soil and the gnat larvaes when hatch can't escape. I don't about you, but they do start become a problem indoors. There's also a great way to minimize them by using mosquite bits. You put 4 tablespoon in a gallon of warm water, let it cool then either spray in the soil or pour some in the pan underneath. oh and I just learned from another youtuber that while the seeds are germinating, they do not need grow lights; it is only when they pop up with their cotyledon leaves that they will need light. Lots to learn!! Thanks for sharing this video!! Love watching your channel!
What a beautiful and unique collection! I can see this method/containers will result in zero bulb topple over situations which I sometimes experience LOL.
Love Alyssum so pretty! I'm really hoping to get started this weekend, please think of me and my friend found out last night she has cancer and a very long road ahead of her 😢
Great idea. I might try this with Lobelia. I planted 74 alyssum starts last year. It was beautiful and really helped with water retention and weed prevention. I'm hoping some reseed this year.
Another great video and l love alyssum, they smell heavenly ! I think I’ll try your method when I start mine in a few weeks (much too early here in 🇨🇦 !)
Me too with furniture and painting and things once pregnant just stopped bc couldn't chop wood anymore or deal with paints and chemicals the way I wanted plus just tired I probably could have but idk. But yes now after ten years like the itch is there miss it but the responsibilities of raising 3 kids took over for sure. Finally got a new chainsaw and bought paints like it's still there definitely looking into pottery again just the artsy side took a back burner sucks bc could have been a thing but really didn't have a support just struggled last couple years finally divorced things right again after that whole time.
What a great video!! I'm not starting seeds quite yet but you've put a bee in my bonnet about planning. I love your smaller trays, mine hold 24 each and I don't grow a whole flat of something. Eventually it happens where some have germinates and some have not, and I have to decide whether to leave the some on for the ones that haven't germinates yet or take the dome off for the ones that have. Smaller trays would fix that problem! Maybe I'll invest in new trays this year.
Beautiful pottery and the amaryllis will be perfect for those. I picked up a few clearance bulbs. LOVE the white ones! I’m so bad about buying seeds and not planting. I hope your videos will encourage me to just do it! 😁 I did plant 4 varieties of poppy seeds right before this cold snap. I hope they will be ok. I’m really excited to see them bloom. A Plant these Seeds Now series would be a good idea especially for some of us! 🤣🤣
New subscriber. I also live in Texas. I love your pottery. They are beautiful. I'm going to check out Southern Seeds. Thank you for the info on their seed sale.
Sounds great! I’ve failed at winter sowing so many times but I’ve been researching a new approach to try out … maybe I’ll post a video on my progress whether I succeed or not 🤔
I was just about to tell you I am sowing along with you - my alyssum seeds arrived few days ago and i am getting ready to sow them, when you made a comment that another viewer said she was sowing along with you! It’s fun and we can share with you our progress in community tab. Btw, of 12 dahlia seeds I sowed 10 days ago (they are on heating mat), I have only one sprouted but it is strong seedling. Do you think others will sprout as well?
They can take up to 21 days, so you still have plenty of time to see if they sprout! Dahlia seeds don’t have a great germination rate … I should have mentioned that in my video … it can be anywhere from 20-80%

Maybe I should try direct sowing too 🤔

Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to provide better information with both speaking but also visually … I’m a visual learner!
Love your blue and white salt glazed pottery collection. Can't wait to see those amaryllis bulbs blooming.
Same! I think they are going to be so pretty!
I love your blue & white pottery collection! My home decor is mostly all blue & white!😆 Thanks for the great video! So helpful. Blessings!!💙💙🦋🦋🙏🙏
You are so welcome!

Aww thanks Susan! I have a collection of brass containers but love copper as well.

Yay! I hope you have awesome success!

Thank you! Good point about the bulb not toppling over!
Love Alyssum so pretty! I'm really hoping to get started this weekend, please think of me and my friend found out last night she has cancer and a very long road ahead of her 😢
You are definitely in my thoughts Michelle ❤️
Those pictures are so beautiful! I can't wait to see what the Amaryllis looks like in those containers when is they bloom.
Me too!!
Love your handwriting! Thanks for the helpfull info ❤

Love the pottery; I have a passion for pitchers & have not seen yours before; thank you!
Awesome! Pitchers are so versatile!

Yes the smaller trays have worked better for my space and my brain 😂 they just make sense for the amount that I am starting.

Thanks for subbing!
Can you do a video on forcing spring bulbs? I ordered some prechilled dafs, tulips and hyacinth but have no idea what I’m doing 😂
Definitely! I’ll try to do one in the next few weeks.
Im going start my seeds next week, but it will be winter sowing
Sounds great! I’ve failed at winter sowing so many times but I’ve been researching a new approach to try out … maybe I’ll post a video on my progress whether I succeed or not 🤔
I love alyssum plants❤❤. Do you know how to propagate them? Soaking them in water never works for me.
I’ve never propagated them! But I’ve started from seed with success!
