Thanks for the video. I moved from Beaverton at the beginning of November. It was a blast to see you driving around my old stomping grounds. I was living off Farmington and 204th.

I got the 2019-mod. As far as i know, it is the same bike as the 2018-mod. Triumph even kept the same color options. A really great bike. Easy in the city and fantastic for long rides.

@@motodrang4287 18 and 19 are the same...however, Triumph is offering the upgraded connectivity for the TFT screen, which was not offered in '18. Dealers, I understand, will be putting in upgrades for Google maps, music and go pro control for the 18. So that's cool.

Informative nicely done video. For an older rider with a bad back, how comfortable is the suspension over poor quality roads?
I've owned my '18 XRT for about a month now, and it's been really comfortable. The suspension is fully adjustable so you can dial in the preload, rebound, and compression with nothing more than a screwdriver and your bare hands. I do notice the bigger bumps, but my preload and other settings are in the middle of the range, with tons of room to add more comfort.

Have you tried the Honda VFR800X Crossrunner? I'm torn between the Xrt or the Crossrunner. Around the same price (15k€)..
I love that bike as well as the 1200 version of it. Unfortunately we don't get the crossrunner in the states. My brother has a VFR 800 (sport tour) and I love the engine, would rather have the crossrunner than an africa twin.
As far as between the two I would try to get as much test ride time as possible on each and pick the one I liked best, both great bikes.
This is not the XRT model, at 3:09 you can clearly see the Daytime Running Light switch (only on XRT models) is non existent, just a blank section of black plastic next to his left forefinger.

I rode the 2017 and didn't like it at all, found it twitchy and had a hard time with the clutch. How is this one in comparison? Are the tires tubeless on both the XR and XC models?
I liked the 18 much better, but if you didn't like the 17 at all I think you may not like this one either. Still similar and all. The XC is not tubeless which is still a gripe for me as well. The clutch was much lighter and the throttling should be smoother on the 18, my 17 was touchy as well.

@@motodrang4287 I own a 2018my 800XCA the engine frees up a lot when run in. Most prominently, it became smoother on slow speed turns. When I 1st got the bike the mapping/ fuel injection seemed lean around 2000rpm making the engine stutter under any load. It's fine now.

with my camping gear full up...do I have enough power ? it look's ok
I know it hauled me at 210 and like 80 lbs of camping gear pretty good. I’d say consider a better rear shock if you’re going to do it a lot. I use a touratech with a much stiffer spring on my tiger 1200 and it made a big difference. Power wise she was fine though :).
Yep...I do pretty much every weekend. Even by adjusting it OEM, it's still to soft ?
@@adv67 for me it was, changing to the touratech was the biggest performance upgrade I’ve experienced. Makes the bike handling much better when hauling payload. I mean I still loaded up the 800 frequently anyways on the oem but the race sag was lower than it shoulda been.

Whats your height? Would it be an okay bike for a 6’2 guy?
Perfect for your height, I'm 6'4 and it's comfy for me. I would go ahead and get the tall windscreen though as the air will likely hit you mid helmet. Another thing to consider is going for the XCA as it sits even a bit taller since you're a tall guy.
I was gonna go for the xca at the beginning cuz I just love their WP suspension but the tubed tyres is the only...anyways, cheers for the reply mate!!
@@iamatallmidget I hear ya buddy, I was just complaining about that to the dealer and they weren't sure if Triumph is going to finally go tubeless. I think the concern is that it would raise the price of the bike and add wheel weight. I myself prefer tubeless like you ;D
@@motodrang4287 If you buckle a rim in the backcountry miles from anywhere, you may change your mind. Although I guess the tubless guys could carry a tube. There are conversion kits, I've never tried one.
Bernie BNE it’s true, there is pros and cons to both. I don’t really do extreme off roading but I’ve heard tubes are good for your example.
