Bought mine in march 2019 and put 10,000 miles on in first season. Very happy with the bike. I agree with your overall comments. I would buy again! Only complaint, easy to damage levers and panels if you even drop it in a parking lot at no speed. Otherwise a great machine.
Great footage, interesting commentary and first class audio. Nice work, really enjoyed it
Have you tried setting on the self-cancelling indicators option in the menu? That way you won't hit the main beam switch. It's not for everybody, but I really like the feature, and it actually works very well.
Peter Hatfield I do use the self cancelling indicators but only to cancel when I forget. It’s a bad habit for me to rely on it as I ride so many different rental bikes when abroad 👍
Thanks for a great review and the brilliant scenery.
great vid much appreciated , and that insta 360 is amazing , quite amazed at the 360d footage it can muster
alpinab14 thanks for watching. You can see the 360 to better effect in my touring videos.
Just found your channel today and enjoying it...nice format and intro :D
Interesting how you demonstrate how smooth the bike is. I love the idea of getting a Tiger but was recently left disappointed on a test of both the 800 & 1200 with the vibration in the handlebars especially the mirrors. Some research tells me I am not alone in what I experienced. I am starting to think something was not set correctly on the bikes. Your review as reinvigorated my interest.
Andrew Bannister Hi Andrew. I had a similar experience with a test ride of a Ducati Multistrada except it was vibration in the seat. At one point in the Rev range it was like sitting on a washing machine in mid spin cycle. I can’t imagine that was normal so I also put it down to bad bike set up. It did put me off however. Don’t however get me wrong. I think all bikes have vibrations it’s just a matter of degree and frequency. With the Tiger what vibration there is causes me no problems with the cameras. That’s really what I was trying to say. Thanks for watching by the way 👍
Andrew Bannister. , I am on my third Triumph triple , one of the main reason is the super smooth engine, maybe not as smooth as a four cylinder but way better than any two cylinder bike, love my Tiger 800 ,prefer it to the 900 !
just picked 1 up great machine it's a keeper
Hi, great video, great bike, i just ask you how tall are you and how is the seat height on your bike. Thanks. I am 170 cm.
Sandro Vesel hi Sandro thanks for watching I does actually tell you that on screen (5:20) in the video. I am the same as you 😁 170cm 👍
I do the same thing with the red main beam switch on my Tiger 800, so it’s not just you!
Brink1957 cheers 😂👍
Hi
Great video.
I ‘m the owner of a 2019 Triumph Tiger XCx .
Can you tell me about the make of your new spotlights? Will they be supplied with plugs and fittings for the Triumph Tiger 800?
Poul Schjerning they are running lights I got from Louis in Austria but you can get similar in other countries. No specific connection for the triumph. I just cut the cables that go to the Tiger spotlights and connected these to the same wires with a waterproof connection. They then work as the originals and are operated by the switch on the left handlebar 👍
Great video and review!
Just about to make the jump and px my BMW for the 800 XCA tiger. Love to know more about the telephone mount please?
Leon Jennings hi Leon, thanks for the like. You might like my Facebook page too. Http://facebook.com/honoraryaustrian
When you say the phone mount I guess you mean the crossbar to which the phone mount is connected? If so it’s custom made.
I’ve got the electronic scottoiler to, do you find splatter around the centre stand ?
mario tsourou oh yes. Sometimes I think the slowest feed setting is not slow enough 😁
The Honorary Austrian exactly my thinking , maybe need to get the thicker winter oil drop slower ?
Hello. Enjoyed the footage.
Can you advise how warm the heated seat gets? I tried the 900GT and it was barely lukewarm
The seat gets very warm on my 2017 xrt.
Hello hononary Austrian! Have you noticed excessive heat coming from the engine when being in traffic? Thanks in advance!
No
Nikos, I have but it's not so much that it will keep you off the rest of the goodies this ride has.
Super
Check out my Facebook page. I mainly write touring features for the motorcycle press. Not so much making videos any more.
You are a better man than me I wouldn’t be able to ride with that camera in the middle of my windscreen
Jack Christodoulou 😂 it gives me something to aim at when I can’t see the road
At what level do you use the windscreen(1-5 being 1 the lowest)?
Jose Guerreiro 5
@@TheHonoraryAustrian And no wind or buffeting? Im currently waiting for my xrt, reading some people complaining about buffeting.. But I guess it depends on height and build. I'm 1.72m.
If you drop one position do you get a lot more wind?
Jose Guerreiro well I’m 1.70 so I wouldn’t think 2cm would make a huge difference. I’ve been using it in top position for ever so I don’t really remember how much difference dropping it one notch would make. If you have a problem you could always add one if those deflectors to the top of the screen. But as I think I said in the video this bike has the best wind protection I’ve yet experienced and I’ve ridden quite a few bikes now.
@@TheHonoraryAustrian thanks for your reply! And congrats on the videos.
@@TheHonoraryAustrian sorry, one last question, what helmet do you use?
Sound👎
