Eddie has only recently met Tommy, and clearly his dating history hasn’t come up, so the reaction was understandable - Eddie had just presumed Tommy was straight so was surprised by the information. Whereas Eddie knows Buck, accepts him for who he is, so he isn’t going to put a label on Buck if Buck hasn’t labeled himself. All Eddie knows is that previously Buck dated women only, and now he is dating a man. Anything beyond that doesn’t matter in the moment.
HAHAHAHA! I just LOVED this scene too much!. I couldn't help but laugh out loud, cry a little then lol'd again. "Not in the same way as you" killed me. So, next is 9-1-1s version of "The hangover"?
Buck and Eddie were always a friendship + strong brotherhood as a family, I don't understand the need of some to throw trash at Tommy, Buck deserves to be happy and really that's the only thing that matters here.
That was so well acted. You could see, hear, and feel how nervous Bucky was coming out in that moment. I always find this particular version of 9-1-1 to be a little on the nose when it comes to queer characters. They live in my home county of L.A. Of course they're gonna find a lot pf support, lol. So many of us are queer here. 🌈 In my opinion, series that have queer themes and take place in red states are a bit more impacted because the threat of being hated and shunned is far greater. The struggle to be accepted in a society that hates your very existence is a tale a lot of queer people are familiar with, unfortunately. Those of us in blue states have a much easier time being ourselves. We still struggle, of course, but not as much as queer residents in red states. Don't get me wrong, i adore seeing any gay stories that take place in my home state. Gives me pride. It just lacks a lot of the "struggle to accept yourself despite the hate" story beats that give queer people hope when it's desperately needed. It's rough when said people can't afford to move to safer states, so they end up staying in the closet for their own safety. I want my fellow queers to know that there's hope.
I cant wait for the latest season to drop in Australia, i want to see this story arc so much! Especially after they hinted at it during the 911 and Lone Star cross over with Tj.
Um guys do you think the "it don't change a thing between us" is a preceptor to the writers telling us "hahaha you fools y'all ain't getting buddie EVER"
Honestly in my book yeah, I consider this the nail in the coffin for the buddie ship. Ig it's important to represent good friendships between men as well, it's not what I would have wanted it but it's better than what I expected
Yeah you know the hyperfixation has taken hold when you cant even press play without crying because of the pure intense emotion... Bloody love these two ❤❤❤
I'd like to see: - A conversation between Eddie and Bobby about Eddie feeling a bit weird and confused (without knowing why) about Buck. - Christopher (after hearing about Buck) asking his dad, or Buck (or the two of them) if there is/was something between the two of them 🤭. - Tommy telling Buck he is on the wrong guy... and he should tell Eddie. - Marisol ending in telling Eddie he is closer to Buck than her...😅
I still think Buck and Eddie going to end up together. How the writers going to play it out I would to see. But there more than a friendship between them two. This a slow burn relationship
This was so absolutely lovely ❤ I started watching from the start this week and I'm really enjoying it! (We haven't got series 7 yet on D+ here in the UK 😅❤)
It's interesting because I've always considered Buck as bi or at least bi curious but I always saw Eddie as a confident accepting heterosexual male. Buck was always the one kind of silently gushing over Eddie. The only time I really saw Eddie caught up in Buck in a delicate way was when Christopher was involved. I honestly don't want them to be a couple. I want them to remain Best Friends!
@@Vivi36566 maybe but I think I read somewhere that the guy that plays Tommy isn’t going to be around for long I’m thinking the end of this season or early next season Tommy will leave
It is a testament to their bond that Eddie immediately knew based on the serious look on Buck's face and his body language that Buck needed to get something off his chest. Eddie stopped talking about his relationship woes and shifted his attention to Buck.
Eddie: ... So you two were...? Buck: We were on a date. Yes. New data finally hitting Eddie's brain, Eddie shook: Ohhkay 😳 ... Buck getting nervous, Eddie realising it and jumping into reassurance mode. Eddie: This doesn't change a thing between us!! (Famous last words 😂) Buck. Good. That's a relief. (Mmhhhm sure, disappointment is the new relief👌)
i still can't get over eddie's "wait Tommy's gay!?" had a similar reaction from my younger brother when i told him about a girl i was dating. my guys having his world view rewritten right there
I can understand Eddie's reaction after reading the interview Ryan did, but I feel like there is more behind his reaction than slight suprise, understanding and love 🤔. I know this is probably one of those things where the viewers are so invested in the Buddie relationship we are making up our own story but I truly think there was more behind Eddie's reaction ❤️❤️.
I really like the scene. Just one thing bothers me: Eddie doesn't even look curious... His best friend was so into women in the past and he has no questions for him... like Maddie had... 🤨 Apart from that point, the scene is perfect.
No but see how SHOOK he is when it hits him that Buck is dating men?? His voice is all over the place after Buck confirms it was a date, and Eddie goes "Okay", wide-eyed. Then quickly scrambles to hide how stunned he is!!
@@whatever9554 Yeah, maybe that's enough for a first conversation about it. Plus, Buck was so nervous that Eddie probably doesn't want to add more in the place.
I know I've been rethinking the whole thing and, really, it's weird Eddie's not curious. Maybe he is afraid of the truth... since they're so close themself.
I’ve found the pacing of this story interesting. Like obviously there’s been undertones about Buck forever but 100 episodes in and he himself is saying it’s his first thing with a guy. He’s had like one date and a kiss and is coming out to everyone. Every coming out story is different of course but it feels a bit…speedy, in context of the character.
You know, I was a big Buddie shipper. Mostly because of what it meant for these two. They would both find a safe place to land with someone who would stay. I wanted that so much. But now i think im ok with how the show is going. Yeah, Buddie seems to be off the table but Eddie looks happier then he has in a long time. Buck seems to be calmer, more sure of himself. They are becoming better people for themselves and I'm loving it
These two need to happen that’s the only reason why I have stayed with the show for so long because the moment they met each other I knew this was going to happen. This needs to happen.
I don't want Buck to lose either of them in favor of the other. I want him to have his best bro and his best love. After all this time, can we all agree that he deserves his long term...his forever love?

My exact thoughts… like buck never said anything to Eddie so did he just already know? They are best friends so it would make sense I guess
"wait Tommy's gay?" 🤣🤣 Had me dying!
When I saw this scene, I started to cry for buck because I know exactly how it feels to come out to your best friend
HAHAHAHA!
I just LOVED this scene too much!.
I couldn't help but laugh out loud, cry a little then lol'd again.
"Not in the same way as you" killed me.
So, next is 9-1-1s version of "The hangover"?
I still can’t believe he’s queer 😭 we needed this
"Was he not watching before?" had me gaaagged😂
Eddie knows he loves buck but doesn’t know hes gay, and buck knows hes bi but doesn’t know he loves eddie
The biggest and best bromance to ever hit the history books
bROMANCE
When he said this doesn't change a thing between us I almost balled 😭😭😭😭😭 I'm so happy for him
I am too invested in this duo when I don't even watch the show.
Im surpised Buck came out in that episode, I thought they were going to hold it off until the season finale.
Buck and Eddie were always a friendship + strong brotherhood as a family, I don't understand the need of some to throw trash at Tommy, Buck deserves to be happy and really that's the only thing that matters here.
This was such a good episode. I love Buck and Eddie relationship. They are truly brothers.
Awww this friendship 🥹🥹
"this doesn't change a thing between us" AHHHHHHHHH
Eddie & Buck have amazing chemistry ❤❤❤
Wasn't a surprise to eddie that buck was bi just tommy haha
"Good, that's a relief..." The way he looks away saying it! He's hurt because he wants more!
Um guys do you think the "it don't change a thing between us" is a preceptor to the writers telling us "hahaha you fools y'all ain't getting buddie EVER"
Nope, it's famous last words.
Honestly in my book yeah, I consider this the nail in the coffin for the buddie ship. Ig it's important to represent good friendships between men as well, it's not what I would have wanted it but it's better than what I expected
@@NYLazyme Nah. It's a red herring. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_herring
1:14 he's not even shocked about buck 😂
Yeah you know the hyperfixation has taken hold when you cant even press play without crying because of the pure intense emotion... Bloody love these two ❤❤❤
I'd like to see:
- A conversation between Eddie and Bobby about Eddie feeling a bit weird and confused (without knowing why) about Buck.
SO good.. new series starts down hdere in Australia next week.. can't wait..
Omg really? I’ve been hanging out for it to start back up in Aus! Is it on 7 or Disney?
@@gamozzie starts Monday channel 7
This was so absolutely lovely ❤ I started watching from the start this week and I'm really enjoying it! (We haven't got series 7 yet on D+ here in the UK 😅❤)
It's interesting because I've always considered Buck as bi or at least bi curious but I always saw Eddie as a confident accepting heterosexual male.
Buck was always the one kind of silently gushing over Eddie. The only time I really saw Eddie caught up in Buck in a delicate way was when Christopher was involved.
I honestly don't want them to be a couple. I want them to remain Best Friends!
i love how utterly confused Eddie is when he goes "wait, Tommy's gay?" like there is so much confusion on his face, it's so funny 😭
Eddie was like...ah! It can't be, I thought we are together. It can't be real Buck, I love you.
Maybe in a future we will see eddie saying this 😂🙏
I have a feeling this season will end with Buck and Eddie together
@@brittanyscott9994 I don't think so (too early)... Maybe just seeing Eddie having some concern about his relation with Buck.
@@Vivi36566 maybe but I think I read somewhere that the guy that plays Tommy isn’t going to be around for long I’m thinking the end of this season or early next season Tommy will leave
@@brittanyscott9994 Yes but Eddie does need some time to realize what's going on with Buck (and even Buck needs that time).
It is a testament to their bond that Eddie immediately knew based on the serious look on Buck's face and his body language that Buck needed to get something off his chest. Eddie stopped talking about his relationship woes and shifted his attention to Buck.
Such a strong friendship scene!!! But yes, every strong love starts with friendship, so… 😍
These 2 are so much more suited
Whyyyyyy cant they just see it god sakes
Eddie: ... So you two were...?
Buck: We were on a date. Yes.
New data finally hitting Eddie's brain, Eddie shook: Ohhkay 😳
... Buck getting nervous, Eddie realising it and jumping into reassurance mode.
Eddie: This doesn't change a thing between us!! (Famous last words 😂)
Buck. Good. That's a relief. (Mmhhhm sure, disappointment is the new relief👌)
🤣🤣🤣🤣
i still can't get over eddie's "wait Tommy's gay!?" had a similar reaction from my younger brother when i told him about a girl i was dating. my guys having his world view rewritten right there
I can understand Eddie's reaction after reading the interview Ryan did, but I feel like there is more behind his reaction than slight suprise, understanding and love 🤔.
I know this is probably one of those things where the viewers are so invested in the Buddie relationship we are making up our own story but I truly think there was more behind Eddie's reaction ❤️❤️.
Ryan Murphy is playing games with me, I swear.
NOW KISS!!!!
I ship these two more than Buck with the other guy.
😂😂
I know they are friends, Obviously.
AWWWWW ITS SO CUTE HOW HES SO SWEET!
This brings a tear to my eye ❤️
We never going to Bucky but I’m glad Eddie was supportive
I really like the scene.
Just one thing bothers me: Eddie doesn't even look curious... His best friend was so into women in the past and he has no questions for him... like Maddie had... 🤨
Apart from that point, the scene is perfect.
@@Vivi36566 Yeah, Buck was clearly getting antsy so Eddie promptly shoved his shock and curiosity aside and switched to reassurance mode
It was even ~half~ a date! So I agree
I find Eddie moving in with Marisol even more rushed, tbh I didn't think they were quite there yet
Took that single line a bit too seriously this episode buddy. 0:50
Okay, the other dude is a red herring. These two need to get together ASAP!!!
Buck look a little disappointed that it doesn’t change a thing between them…
seeds
They are perfect for each other! Buddie! Eddie prefers to hang out with Buck as opposed to Marisol. What does that say about things?
You know, I was a big Buddie shipper. Mostly because of what it meant for these two. They would both find a safe place to land with someone who would stay. I wanted that so much.
But now i think im ok with how the show is going. Yeah, Buddie seems to be off the table but Eddie looks happier then he has in a long time. Buck seems to be calmer, more sure of himself. They are becoming better people for themselves and I'm loving it
These two need to happen that’s the only reason why I have stayed with the show for so long because the moment they met each other I knew this was going to happen. This needs to happen.
We're almost there
AAAAAAA I can’t see yet bc I couldn’t watch the episode but I’m already screaming with joy
I don't want Buck to lose either of them in favor of the other. I want him to have his best bro and his best love. After all this time, can we all agree that he deserves his long term...his forever love?
Nope, he can't have both because the person that you're dating will take up your time and that will lead to the friend taking a back seat.
Not even questioning bucks sexuality 😂
