So useful and 100% customizable. Thanks Kenny!

This was very timely since I just started using Reaper to edit my daughter's volleyball games. I setup some shortcut keys to skip forward/back a few frames and was actually annoyed at the scrubbing feature. I was able to turn it off after watching this and now it's much smoother. Thanks Kenny!

Nice one Kenny - excellent as usual!

Hey Kenny, the graphic of the tape deck has it playing in reverse! Anyone who used reel to reel knows that it feeds OFF the left hand spool, and gets taken up on the right hand spool! :)

Great video, as always. A thing that bothers me is the mouse oriented workflow. Im wondering how to work like Premiere Pro and the "jkl" with "io" keys workflow to add items in timelime.

Killer video !!! .... . . . I ALWAYS learn something from your videos Kenny. How can I output the scrubbing audio in realtime to another track to be recorded??

You can't really. Unless you want to create one portable install and send to another portable install to record. Or what I would do is choose the "Save Live Output to Disk (Bounce)" option and just let it record while you mess around. Then bring that bounced file back into your project and find a place for it.

    Excellent as usual, great work!
Got one question, how can I record the jogging in a new track?

Not sure you could do that all within the same project since you're "jogging" along the timeline which is technically playing. So you'd be trying to play the timeline while recording you playing it on the same timeline. Maybe with a sub-project?

Like Tommy Steward said. it's complicated but not impossible. What I would do is choose the "Save Live Output to Disk (Bounce)" option and just let it record while you mess around. Then bring that bounced file back into your project and find a place for it.

Thanks for this! I have it set up to a midi controller on a 360 degree knob. Is there a way to make it only move in 64th notes?

I randomly "scrubbed" a chord progression and love the sound, can I record the scrub in Reaper?

Hey Kenny, is there any way to make the cursor follow the mouse without any delay, no jog/scrub, but with the left drag feature? I'm used to Ableton where that is the norm.

I love the scrub tool using right arrow button, if only the sound could be recorded, anyone know how?

How do you do like the effect of a tape slowing down?
Like if I would like to do a slow down on an instrumental at a certain spot, giving it that jog sound. (Maybe modulation?)
I know it can be done on Protools but I want to learn how to do it in Reaper because I don't know how.
I would appreciate it very much

There’s a vst plugin called Tapestop I think which does precisely that
