I checked the Govornor Shaft WOT and Rotate Clock wise lock down Pinch Bolt - Still Try to Figure how to Bring Idle Down .
Nice,,,,,,these are really powerful! Good luck with the project. Yea and on my minibike project I used an older 5.5hp tecumseh! Gotta get that idle below the clutch lock-up rpm!
Check your compression!! Make sure you have good spark! The videos are about as good as I can do for ya. Me texting here isn't any better. Go check out kensmallengines, he does a question and answer on saturdays 2pm est,, you can leave questions for him on the community page as well. Usually a bunch of us youtubers with small engine channels are hangin around for his live streams. Tell him Arch sent ya,,,
@@TheNovaJohn I've yet to have a piece of equipment with this engine on it oh by the way I polished the head light lens on my craftsman gt tractor sorry no video on this one 😔😭
Probably! Taryl did a video on this. He had a few engines from a customer and his own stuff and layed them out, took some measurements and showed the parts! See if ya can find it on his channel! Many parts are almost identical
My ex21 on a ryobi pressure washer (as well as my house) was flooded during hurricane helene. I emptied all the seawater out of crankcase, cylinder, carb, and gas tank. Ultrasonic cleaned carb. Fresh oil and gas and I can get it to start and run by pushing that metal throttle lever toward the carb. What is it that keeps it from running at open throttle? This setup was always on or off -- no throttle control on the machine. Governor? Help. Pulling my hair out.
yes, governor! I built my personal Subaru from 2 machines I got after the Hurricane we had a bunch of years ago! The video is in the folder for pressure washers or subaru or rigid, I forget. I hope ya all Ok!!! I've been keepin an eye on what's going on!
I have a 5 hp Subaru engine on a go cart. But I can't seem to find the engine model info. I need an air filter for it. A carb kit, valve adjustment specs and gasket for the carb. But my local small engine shop isn't much help without a model number. I do the work on small engines and just order whats needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
Try looking on the pull start/engine cover for model. At least ya got the valve info here! I haven't had to replace one of these carbs yet and avoided the rebuild kits out there! I took my personal engine off recently for some service but don't have the time yet for it, I know that will be quite a wait but that's the game we all our bound too here on TH-cam!
@TheNovaJohn thank you. I did find the info needed to get the parts to replace the stuff needed. It's on order now. Should be a week until they come in.
Thanks for this upload I have the same pressure washer except it's to fuel injected. I got it at an estate sale for $10 it's like new except the kill switch is missing and I can't figure out hour to wire it together to run. It has three wires coming down red black orange and the bottom has two red and orange. The old guy that owned it told me it runs good but you need to hot wire the kill switch. Any help would be much appreciated thanks.
Great story!! well, kinda hard to describe. Get an ohm meter, particularly one with the beeper Follow the coil wire from the ignition coil,, those get connected to what we call ground or the chassis/metal of the engine in order to kill the engine! If it were going through a switch that when the switch is set to off, that switch would be grounding the coil to kill the engine, when the switch is set to on or run, the switch opens the connection to ground/chassis and the engine can run. Yours most likely has a low oil pressure kill If the oil level goes down I think its just a switch that grounds the coil just like a kill switch does. I think that also connects to the coil wire. Imagine you have the wire from the switch, On means no connection to ground, Off means the meter will beep.. You would clip one wire of the meter/beeper to engine chassis/ground the other to the wire coming from the switch. Switch the switch/on/off measure this, listen to understand what I say Then my guess, connect the wire to the ground, the coil to the switch.
@@TheNovaJohn Update I got the motor to fire it sounds strong but unfortunately won't stay running. Is it worth it in your opinion to convert to a carb as this fuel injected seems problematic. Thanks
congrats on 6k subs buddy .. your growing fast
Ohhh tanx Monkey!!
Well done Arch it’s looking good 👍
Thanx Henry!
Recently broke the pull cord on my engine!!

Yes, if you have some parts to do it! If the compression is good, what is it btw?
Hey Arch!! Did you do your own intro music? Cool sound man.
Hey Bravo,,,,no I didn't but that is kinda one of my styles!
Thanx
Nice vid, BTW.
Thanks!!!!!!
Where do I buy an air filter for this motor? I just bought one for it and it's not the correct one. Which one is it?
That I don't know.
Search the rigid model number 1st then search the model number of the engine would be my guess.
