I just bought a new 2023 and I LIKE the pops and crackles off the exhaust. It puts a smile on my face when I accelerate, let go, and hear what sounds like fireworks 💥
Mom has an 8 speed 2SS Vert. Absolutely love the vehicle. Even though it weighs 4200 pounds it absolutely does not feel like it. The acceleration is fantastic.
Other than the Convertible, I have the exact same car, 2017, 6SPD, 2SS, WIth NPP Exhaust and Mag Dampers FE4 Suspension, Hyper Blue (No Stripes)....Had it almost exactly a year now...I LOVE it. I have a 2018 Titan, and a 1994 Prelude Si that almost never get driven now. This Camaro, is the most fuel efficient of the 3, definitely the most fun, and as a 2SS, it's sooo comfy, especially on TOUR mode. The SS is just the perfect amount of power....Love, Love, Love it!
The 6th gen is a fantastic driving car, it really does drive about as good as it gets below 100k. Yeah the packaging and styling is not for everyone but just like the 4th gen f body is now, these will be greatly missed and appreciated in the near future. I rent cars frequently for work, the convertible actually has better visibility due to no B pillar blinding you and you really don't feel the weight with the power and alpha platform
6M 2SS convertible Camaros kick ass! Not a whole lot of of manual verts out there. This is almost my exact car except mine is garnet red. I have been hoping for a while now that the topher would test drive one of these. So glad to finally see it!
My first Camaro experience was also in a convertible SS. I rented one. It had the "ruined" front end, though with its dark gray paint, less noticeable than in some colors. I freakin loved it. One of the best times I have had driving a car. Though, I don't know if I'd actually want to own one, I can appreciate how fun and silly these cars are - and it seemed to genuinely handle well, too.
Told my self I want another one. I had a loaded 2016 2ss coupe , same color as vid, that I had to get rid of but I got a 2017 Grand Cherokee limited v8. I went to the state police academy and it snowed so bad those months I was there. Definitely looking to purchase this same build in vid if I can find another in New Jersey area.
While your thinking of Camaro , challenger , or mustang , although auto is faster trust me when I say the only way to buy these V8’s is with a manual!!!! The drive is so much more enjoyable !
That's just what I need a convertible Camaro with a Charlie in the back LOL I'm just trying to be funny Charlie seems to be a nice guy but I always wanted one of those Camaro convertible
Just tilt your head like you are eating a taco then you can see it fine lol. But seriously, I need to get some non polarized glasses soon for when I drive
Can someone please explain to me how to downshift these 6th gen’s smoothly??? My 6 speed scat was different. All of my shifts were smooth. This 6th gen jerks a lot especially when downshifting
Tell me guys, as you may know in Europe auto shift is not common ( more every day and depends on the country ) for an American .. a manual shift is something to enjoy the ride at weekends or a 99% you prefer an auto shift always? about de vid beautiful car.
Most prefer an auto because it's percieved as easier in the city and for the "cruising" longer-distance american style of driving. Most of the population doesn't know how to drive a manual and hasn't tried, so they don't know how much better it is. A small part of the population drives manual for the fun to drive aspect, even if it's seen as less convenient.
Wearing polarised lenses is not recommended for viewing LCD displays. Buy a 17 million dollar helicopter with a glass cockpit and that is mentioned in the general limitations. Serengeti Aviators (professional aviation sunglasses) work just fine as opposed to the fashion ''I'm looking kool'' shades which mostly have polarised lenses.
Really cool car. As someone who's sat in the back of a convertible, that wind can be a nightmare if you've got even mildly long hair. Aside from that, I'm really impressed by the room and how this offers sports car fun for a growing family. I wish we had these in Australia. I have a GR86 and to my knowledge, if I have to perform dad duties it means I can't have a front passenger with a rear-facing child seat in. If I only have two kids I could make that work but I'll be curious to see how long I can use it as a family car before they outgrow those rear seats entirely. I told my girlfriend I'm not making her sacrifice a fun car for a practical car, but luckily she likes sedans to begin with. Too bad we don't have the Civic Si either in our market either... Maybe Elantra N (i30N premium) for her?
Also a little fact for the Camaro is that it switches into 4 cylinder mode to conserve gas depending on speed. My friend has one and he can get around 30 mpg out of it sometimes.
Had a rental Camaro convertible on a trip to Maui recently. Although I think they look decent, it had some of the WORST interior ergonomics, build quality, trunk space, and visibility I’ve ever encountered in a car ever. It drove well, but my goodness I can’t believe people pay any amount of money to actually own one. To each their own, but with that money just get a Miata or GR86 . If you had to go American, a Mustang is a better choice.
4000 lb!!! And people call the M240i with AWD “heavy”. Lol with the car market as wonky as it is right now the BMW is likely cheaper, faster, and better in every way other than not being a convertible. Only problem with the BMW is that there is a 6 month wait to get one.
Don't worry. It's not. More expensive, slightly slower and nowhere near as fun to drive + not a convertible. Camaro factually is waay better in most regards.
Well it’s a muscle car of course it’s heavy. And it’s a convertible. Also, in a M240i you’re not getting a sweet American V8, so there’s that. If I had to pick between them BRAND NEW I would probably get a M240i coupe but the Camaro is a phenomenal car as well.
The BMW is no where near as fun and engaging to drive. It’s insanely refined and competent but it’s not fun like this. The BMW is also smaller and not a convertible but is only 70lbs less in RWD form.
@@postalpancho the SS 1LE costs under 50K and is much quicker than even an M2 around a track. The Alpha chassis is no joke, fun fact the whole goal and benchmark for the car was to make a better E46 Chassis.
that head room is insane

no
Huh??😊
Tedward lives In Massachusetts and Thetopher lives in Michigan so no.
Tedward is Tom and Topher is Chris but both do videos on the Winding Road.

Is it push to start? I am really leaning towards this one for my next car.
@@pretti4ashunIt is but I don’t know why that matters anyway lmao

The perfect spec my only complaint would be the electronic e brake

Plenty of head room

Personally I Like those Black Stripes, but ONLY with that particular color of Blue on that car!
The kind of crossover we wanted !!

I hadn’t reset the trip odometer on my 17 Silverado, I’ve driven 70k miles and the mechanic over the weekend doing routine maintenance reset it 😅
The HUD in my 1LE is almost invisible with polarized sunglasses on.
Then you have some good sunglasses! The whole point of polarization is to block out reflections. Lol
@@jjchockey lol Ray-Bans and Oakleys. If you rotate them 90° it looks fine. I’m always unlucky with the polarization direction.

2019+ front end ftw
Amazing weekend car for the enthusiast!
That rev hang is a deal breaker for me, rather have a 19+ 1LE
They all have it... 1LE or not. Regardless it can be tuned out

Am I one of the few that think they didn’t ruin the front end?
No, you're not. 19+ models look nicer imho. All a matter of personal taste.
19+ tail lights look light years better than 16-18
Aww man I was gonna reach out for you to drive my 2022 LT1 manual... Camaro overload
I agree that the SS is enough. Unless your tracking it, the ZL1 is just too much to enjoy on a public road.
0:02 second seen manual gear in neutral jerking left and right

Great car for gas guzzling and imperfect reliability
