According to wookiepedia, the B2 is 6’4” and Christopher Lee is 6’5” ran into the same confusion with the black series release seeming too small but the droid is just smaller than we all thought
I also remember that, and I also like how some of them have their "wrist" blasters stored. I remember some of them having them pointed up, but I recall seeing one in the background having it over the "chest"
Fun fact, the Battle Droids are all created in the image of the Genosians. That's why they have the head shape and snoot and three fingers on their hands.
The Clone Wars 2008 show turned these droids into visual TANKS and I think that's a source for a lot of confusion regarding their size. They're massive and overwhelming in live-action, but not nearly as big as a lot of fans (including myself) remember them being.
If I recall correctly, the B2s were designed by the Techno Union Army while the B1s were done by the geonosians. That explains the design choices very clearly. That said, my canon may be out of date at this point so who knows.
I wish they gave him a toy inspired swap out heavy blaster arm to pay homage to the the first AOTC action figure and TCW heavy super battle droid. Incredible review as always Justin!!

The B2 looks like it is worth $220 but I’m not sure about buying this since it’s lacking in stuff. The Commander Fox phase one looks worth it big time. The first in 200 Hot Toys figures I actually was dissapointed with when I got it in hand. Feels so cheap, although the AA battery helps, and the paint app is incredible as always, but this should have been a two pack for a bit more money and that would have made it a great release.
Great review looks awesome. More than the new Vader or Padme, this is a figure I want in my collection. Unfortunately this is one of those Hot Toys that get trapped in the current HT price points. I can’t see myself paying $315 Canadian. It’s a relatively simple figure no accessories, head likeness etc. I guess I just will have to ......move along.
The B2's are often shown in a pose where they have their gun arm bent upward and the back of their hand shown to their target, which you can't really get it posed right with the figure without the arm extension. They may have added it to both in case you wanted to do other similar poses with both arms.
Thank you for the review, this CGI droid doesn’t to me give a realistic sense and i don’t want him as much as I want K2SO droid..which feels menacing and scary real ….does that make sense !!? 😂😂😂
Why worried? It looks great! I got 3 coming. Unfortunately no Dooku. Do have a Jango tho. I wish HT had done the regular B1 rather than the Geonosis one. Got one of those, not sure how to pose them together…. Maybe I could dust the B2s with some pastel chalks?
I really don't like that gold tinted faceplate for the SBD, because it's just not accurate. Yes, there are some shots where the reflection of the red Geonosian sand makes that part look that color, but the actual droid should be exclusively shades of silver and gunmetal and not have any gold color whatsoever. This is jut another case of Hot Toys making nearly perfect figures but then missing some of the most obvious details (missing strap and wrong chin on 501st heavy trooper, missing blue stripes on Jesse's hand armor, missing = shape on 501st and shock troopers, gold faceplate on SBD, etc.)
Ok, so we have a Hot Toys B2 Super Battle Droid...and yet we still don't have a Star Wars Black Series B2 Super Battle Droid. Whatever happened to that figure???😅
