16:57 Imagine if some old former CIS holdouts and factories were reactivated during the Yuuzhan Vong War, it really would have helped to wipe away the stains of the Clone Wars to have old CIS droids fighting on the frontlines against the Vong invaders!
Now imagine a Scorpinek's chassis infused with said alloys? I would most certainly be expensive af, but it'd also be essentially indestructible against almost anything. The shield could honestly be removed at that point to reduce cost but with its absence I'd further enhance the beast's targeting computer and integrate a few missile launchers. Just like the B3 Ultra Battle Droid, the Scorpinek woulda been absurdly OP if they had just doubled their production numbers.
The B2 is honestly one of the single scariest war droids in star wars in my opinion. It's a heavy infantry unit meant to see mass deployment, with 2 assualt rifles in its fist, and the ability to have that on both arms, or a heavy weapon and the two assault rifles. All this with the armor of a light tank that renders it all but immune to you and your buddies rifles. Unless you have a lightsaber, heavy weapons, or the skill and knowledge of a clone trooper to know exactly where to hit it, and the skill to do so, you simply aren't stopping it. Honestly probably the only reason the clones at Geanosis could deal with them is they were still mostly using the DC-15A which is bassically an anti-material rifle in power so it could brute force its way to a kill. And even then, if I recall correctly even that can struggle to get through a B2's armor in spots.
@@42meep13 If it was an anti-material rifle then it'd be punching clean through every type of battle droid and able to damage AATs by just shooting at them. Same with most vehicles. I really like B2s and wish we got to see more of them explored personality wise. In general, the way droids are treated in Star wars is pretty existentially horrifying, because they're clearly capable of developing self-awareness and personalities but the galaxy at large just pretends that's not an issue by wiping their minds. I think a part of the problem is that the Star Wars setting is, at least in general terms, already written quite some distance ahead and any story has to take place within that pre-arranged framework. So if a massive societal issue like this was to be explored, you could only do so much with it, because you have to come back around to the same galactic status quo. No room to give a liberation movement a wide-spanning happy ending or even lasting legacy. At most it'd have to be a story confined to some limited locale, like an Outer Rim planet or sector. Which can still work of course, but it'd be a bittersweet ending, knowing this sympathetic struggle that you rooted for the whole movie/comic/whatever is still under the heel in millions of other worlds and will be for many more years.
