If i want to summarise why I benefit so much from Sh Yasir's explanation of issues, i will إن شاء الله forward them this video. A holistic and comprehensive explanation whilst maintaining a level if intellectual rigour, genuineness and humility that is often lacking unfortunately. جزاك الله خير

Yes he is one of a kind. Nouman ali khan is similar. They are very high level intellectually but are not full of themselves. Alhamdulillah

When it comes to Global Warming (and I haven't listened to Yasir Qadhi's entire answer, yet) I think we have to be critical as with any scientific discovery. In this case this is not a new discovery we had ample time to look into the claims they make to make an assessment.
Personally, I haven't looked into it in-depth, but I can't ignore the signs: wood fires, floods, droughts. And when we think about our mandate to not pollute and not engage in excess I agree with some of the solutions to climate change. I believe having cleaner transportation and energy sources that are gentler on the environment and the people is better than what we have right now. I do believe we eat too much meat, the prophet SwS was said to discourage eating red meat to often. Mass-producing meat (really mass-slaughtering) is not the way for us Muslims and we should be more moderate in that regard. We don't need to buy the newest fashion made of fabric that is harmful to the environment because it is bleached by harmful chemicals. So we shouldn't buy too much from H&M and Zara who engage in fast fashion practices exploiting the environment and people to make a profit.
We don't have to agree with every new thing scientists come up with blindly, we have to assess for ourselves and see if they did research in good faith and had a good method of research to come to their conclusions, but we also shouldn't be complicit when there is a call for excellence which I find the climate change advocates are actually doing. We should be pioneering these efforts like cleaning our oceans, using clean transportation, being gentler to our cattle and consuming in moderate amounts.

Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].

MashaAllah Sheikh. What a beautiful and true explanation of how we understand our religion, Islam. Many shallow and emotionally minded individuals keep saying Islam has clear cut answers for everything and one cannot have a difference of understanding. Allah SWT have given us faculties to use especially in areas of our daily affairs. Islam expects us to be guided by our faith but to use all resources available to determine appropriate actions. We bear in mind our intention is to please Allah SWT and follow guidance of our beloved Rasulullah SAW.

Islam not only predicts it, but bars its followers from opposing any science and doing what is right to prevent imbalances.

    Sheikh Yasir Qadhi,
Please speak about horrific farming industry. Research shows even organic farming industries also have horrific treatments. There’s no ethical farming. It’s just so sad. Recently, I was able to arrange a meeting with our Imam and one of our local Animal Rights group for community outreach to raise awareness. It’s all just so horrific- dairy, poultry, fur .. animal testing- list goes on. I’m speaking about the treatment only. Please forgive me for sounding like a crazy person.

Didn't it say in the Holy Quran, owing to the wrong doings of the people, chaos has prevailed in the Land and the Sea?
And, The Almighty is described in His Book as The Most Compassionate and The most Merciful and He won't do harm in any way to his slaves.
That means man himself is responsible for the difficulties of man kind in this world like poverty, hunger(remember the poor African countries )injustices towards the oppressed(think of Rohingya,Syria, etc) and of course global issues connected with the ozone layer ,global warming and the like ,which the modern science has proved beyond doubt and that's why the world nations are striving hard to find a solution for the pollution of the environment through their summits.
    ...from Kerala, India

We can start stopping the distribution of plastic water bottles at our masjids, especially during Ramadan. what's stopping us having water fountains and getting people to top up their own bottles. a small change which will encourage a change in behaviour. in modern countries we have good quality water. If an event is held why not have jugs of water and reusable cups.

Would you say nuclear weapons are forbidden for the same reason? Even if used for the sake of self preservation?

    • @baneoffsight4871
      @baneoffsight4871 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Brother I recommend watching Kurzgezagt's video on what happens if a city is nuked ( th-cam.com/video/5iPH-br_eJQ/w-d-xo.html ). Even though it may be secularized, this video may help you gain some perspective combined with the teachings given here by Yasir Qadhi.
In my opinion, nuclear weapons are an abomination and shouldn't be used as many innocent lives would definitely be involved if it has to be set off. And who are we to judge who is innocent and who isn't. Only Allah SwT knows what lies in our hearts.
      And Allah SwT says:
      Sūrat al-Māidah Verse (5:32) - English Translation
Sahih International translation: Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors.

Our beloved prophet Muhammad(pbuh) said he leave 2 things the Qu'ran and his Sunnah. Brother I disagree with things you say. Allah(swt) is the creator of the Heavens and Earth and everything in between. Allah(swt) is the caretaker of this World.
