    I've tried this and fuel sprayed all over the place so I just tighten it back up and was like guess this is good the sound has not changed though I literally followed what this dude explained in his video except the fuel spraying all over the place. Fass still loud though, my system was never so loud until these new filters came out and was installed on my truck by the shop so i figured a filter was clogged and decided to do another filter swap with the xls

      We're happy this helped Ozzie! You should also change the filters every 20-30k miles, or once a year whichever comes first.
      We also suggest keeping an extra set of filters in your truck at all times just in case you get some bad fuel from the gas station.

    My instructions say to put the fuel filter on the side with the draw tube. It seems like the video is placing the water separator filter there, is this correct?

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, and it will depend on the series system you have as to which filter goes on either side. If you have a grey, or black base system the filters will be aligned as shown in the video.

    Had my pump for a few years and have never purged when changing filters. I just fill them with fuel screw them on and cycle the pump. Is this bad for the pump ?

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries at all. It's just another way to do it. The only thing we suggest is not running the pump unit itself dry as it is lubricated by the fuel that runs through it.

    I have a 2016 LML with the FASS 100gph lift pump and a stock fuel filter delete, do i have to drain water from the filter or anywhere for that matter periodically? I just bought the truck so I'm still learning stuff about it. But yea just wondering if i have to drain the water separator or just change them when time comes due. Thank's!

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Josh! Thanks for reaching out. Congrats on the new truck!
      We recommend changing your fuel filters every 20,000-30,000 miles, or 1x per year if driven less. Our newer filters feature improved filtration technology, and don't actually feature a drain (the water is now held within the filter element).
      If your truck's equipped with drainable filters, you're technically supposed to drain them daily. That said, 1x per week is usually sufficient, depending on the quality of fuel you're able to get.
      If there's a chance that the filters on your LML have been there for a while, we'd recommend changing them out for the updated versions!

    • @joshherrell93
      @joshherrell93 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FASSFuelSystems i can't see a drain on the filters or system it so i must have the updated version, and i know they were recently done but I'll still stay on the shorter side of that recommendation! Thank you very much for the prompt reply, much appreciated! 🍻

    Aren’t you actually suppose to loosen the filter on the suction side?

    • @alecxgenereux3744
      @alecxgenereux3744 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you loosened the filter on the suction side you would be adding a secondary entry point at the seal, so therefore it would suck air instead of fuel and never actually prime the system. You Loosen the pressure filter so you can prime the suction side to the pump, once you hear the pump get a load on it meaning suction side line is full of fuel to the pump, you then tighten the filter, the remaining air will be forced out through the return line and pressure side will prime itself.
