What a nice surprise for a Wednesday morning! Another beautiful small village. I read that Baulking was an ancient market town, with market day on Thursday. In 1219 the market was changed to Tuesday and by 1792 it had ceased to be held. Love the history of the towns and the Churches of your walks and also the peaceful serenity. Thanks Kevin! 🚶

There are thousands of villages scattered throughout the UK countryside. It's a vast and diverse landscape, and it's not uncommon to keep discovering new and beautiful villages every day.

Kevin I get the impression that you are an Oxfordshire person like myself. We really do have an abundance of beautiful villages to appreciate in the county. Would love to see you do The Bartons. Mind you Steeple Barton consists of little more than a church and about a dozen scattered dwellings of which probably at least four are farms.

Really depends on the house and if it's been insulated properly, but some do suffer from damp and mould unfortunately.
We have gas, electric, central heating, underfloor heating etc!
The sort of people who live in these villages (it's a mostly wealthy area) don't tend to need to worry about putting the heating on.
