Thank you for posting this video. This reminded me of the time I took my kids to get geoduck many years ago. We drove for hours and missed the tide. We were determined and tried again another day. It was a very expensive activity. We bought a pump tube, boots and tickets for the barge to take us out to the mud flats near Tomales Bay. We broke our backs, skunked. No clams in the area either. Muddy mess everywhere and on us. Gave away our equipment soon after our adventure. But rewarded with a lifetime of happy funny memories like looking up from the mud and panicking, seeing my 2 year old’s boots stuck where I told him to wait but he had slipped out of them and taken off, running happily in the muddy sand.
Nice brotha! We’ve been there before and got some piddock clams as well. The tide wasn’t in our favor last time so we didn’t get any geoducks but we got lots of horseneck clams. Happy foraging bro.
Great video and story, congrats! Awesome geoduck gun/pipe! I would like to make or buy 2 geoduck pipes for a family trip to Hood Canal. You mentioned in the video that it was a special cut and delivery. I can see on the side written that is a Kroy Industry PVC heat/air duck 12" pipe. Where I could locally order a special 3 foot cut? Also, your expert opinion, should I go with 12" or even larger 16" diameter Kroy pipe? How much did it cost ? Thank you and regards
Best time for digging them is minus/low tides of -2.0 or more. Usually happens in Summer during daylight. Limit is first 3 geoduck you dig up. You will need a shellfish license. There are some good negative tides last day of July and beginning of August.

I would recommend 16" diameter which is what my friend has, I think you need to order online, i am still trying to figure out myself, lol
Cool stuff! How did you prepare them?
the nose part is good for sushi raw, the body is good for sliced thin deep fried or make a chowder

Are geoduck good eating? I never had one.
Do you want to come w my Meetup to Netarts Bay on Oct 1? We're going for clams.
Thanks! We are heading up to Long Beach for razor clam, will catch you next time!
@@bebe0928 in your opinion, will a 2.7 tide work for bay clams at happy camp beach?
I wouldn’t take that home to my wife🤣
😂😂o you’re too embarrassed to 😂😂😂😂😂 that’s funny
Don't touch the upper nose because the clam will going down deeper its hard to dig out
Nah, they can't dig. They're basically immobile once adults. In fact there's Washington wildlife rules about digging and replacing
Is there a reason folks don’t tell the exact location ? South Puget sound is pretty big place
We all know exactly where that is. That downed tree gives it away
They’re on Harstine Island at a state park that is about a mile or two north or McMicken Island
Are you in Oregon or California?
Washington
Thank you!!
