Initially this mutation mission was a little bit tricky. The Propogators do an awful lot of damage if they are not dealt with in time. Initially we try to complete this with Raynor and Nova, but quickly swap out Nova for Swann. After completing the mutation once, it's time to max out on Vultures, mass Spider Mines and try again.
Unidentified lifeforms have been detected on Ulnar, consuming everything in their paths and replicating themselves as they advance. Amon's forces are focused on preventing your armies from escaping. Keep your distance and exterminate these pests before all is lost.
Propagators: Reality warping sludges are crawling towards you. Anything they touch is turned into a copy of the sludge.
Temporal Field: Enemy Temporal Fields are periodically deployed throughout the map.
Concussive Attacks: Player units are slowed by all enemy attacks.

I think Lowko didn't understand this mutator still. This blobs just go over any of your unit/building destoying it and creating a 1 additional blob from it that can do same shit. So the wall at your ramp will just give them more numbers, but don't delay them

Yeah.... you should just have enough units with vision to take them down before they hit. Not hard really.

I think someone has been reading my Reddit posts. :B Tips:
- RULE NUMBER ONE as Raynor: ALWAYS transform your Command Center into an Orbital as soon as possible.
- RIGHT CLICK on replenish spider mine to put it on autocast.
- CC first is totally safe on this map. Use Dusk Wings to kill rocks after killing the first propagator.
- Making heavy use of the Hyperion and Dusk Wings in the early game will allow you to be extremely greedy this game. Don't worry about trying to get early Marines. They just delay your economy.
- If you rally your Barracks to your rocks, the Marines will automatically shoot at it as soon as they land.
- 6 Orbitals will allow you to get a whole lot of minerals for Marines and Mines, without mining out your base completely until the game ends.
- The reason mass mines didn't seem that strong before is because you probably used them against an air-based composition. You need to see what kind of units you are playing against. Also you need a lot of MULEs to make it affordable.
- You didn't need to kill that one Vulture. You could have just dropped a single MULE at the lock and it would claim it too.

I played probably with the same guy on normal and hard, he played Raynor with spider mines and I played as Kharax

Lowko, here is a small tip for raynor: If you place the rallypoint of your barracks right onto the stones of your first base, they will automatically start attacking it when they spawn. Also, if you play together with swann, he can build you tech-reactors for your barracks.

"Lowko, read the description". They do not spawn in hordes. By attacking your units they turn them into copies of themselves thus creating more propagators :) Also, the minimap awareness!

Lowko! if you rally your barracks units onto the destructible rocks they automatically begin attacking, no need to micro them to attack the rocks.

This mutation triggered my Anxiety so hard. You couldn't hear my panic through the internets as they got towards your stuff
Suddenly I'm really glad I have the GBA emulator and Metroid Fusion ROM. X parasite was my first thought when I learned about these freaks.
And yes, Raynor and his "Classic piece of engineering" was the MVP when I tried this one.
Less "Hey you can beat this with Vultures alone" and more "Hey my ally is so good he can carry me even when I'm building Vultures alone"
seeing those propagators devour your stuff was incredibly satisfying
Haha i broke my balls on this mission in the morning, seeing your entire base turn into blobs :P was funny and frustrating at once, managed to do it and now i see my favorite do it too, has been a good day :D

Only a few minutes in but think of propagators as zombies. If they kill something they will become infected and become that thing so if a propagator kills 8 marines or scvs you then have 9 propagators to kill (not 1 propagator and 8 scvs).
Actually, the name of the mutation as well as the behavior is a clear reference to the Borg from Star Trek.
Didn't get that because I don't know star trek but was pointing it out because he seemed to think they took the units or buildings and not that the things they take change.

I remember doing mass vulture when Coop was released, was super fun on the train map, just spamming mines in 1 spot and waiting for the train. Oneshot even on brutal.
First commander I got to 15, because it was so much fun lol
Well, I was kinda worried, that when SC:Remastered comes out, Lowko might don't get the gist of terran race. But now, after "Let's build as much Vultures as possible to spam spidermines non-stop!"... Yeah, he already got it.
This mission can get out of control suuper fast. Played this mission with a friend, and he accidentally got a bit too close to one of them with his Marine-Ball und we just got overrun within seconds.
I really love the Mutators tho. Adds a little new spice to coop each week ! :)
uhh, did you know that you could make mines with vultures? the X ability, 15 minerals per mine and you can set it on autocast.
Also, you need like 6 orbitals to properly afford 24 vultures on non-stop mine production and that should give you enough mines to fill the map (49 is overkill)
Mines are one of those OP things in the sc1. That's why sc1 is regarded as best rts game. All races have really overpowered shit like zerg cloud and plaque. Bad part of the mass mine strategy is that one zergling can pull all of them to your army :D

Hey, you know how on a recent low-league cast people were complaining about how bad it was?
I'm getting a little of that.
You tried to delay them like any other unit that you really don't want in your base, not like the entirely new threat it is. The mutator description seemed to make it pretty clear; touching one of your units or structures is instant death. You can't slow them with walls or by throwing units in their path; that just makes the problem worse. What you need is ranged damage and stagger stepping.
You are an experienced player, and normally this is an asset. This time, however, it was a bad thing because you thought of the new mutator like something you have already faced when it was- by _design-_ something new you must tailor your strategy against.
Wow I got this mutator when the mutation was "random mutators" and I didnt know what to do. A whole wave of these blobs just came and took my whole base. I think I commited a big number of lings before I was able to realize that they spawn more units when they one shot mine. :D
Zagara + Stukov combo would be interesting on this mutation.

I used Zagara and banelings to quickly get rid of the mutators. You have to keep an eye on the minimap all the time though!

There are 2 upgrades for the vulture one is the 33% blast radius and the other allows you to make spider mines by pressing x when selecting a vulture which you never used.
So many games there are, but it shows that there is a lot of competition.
These aliens coming from this week's mutations literally one shot everything. I went "WTF!" when one of those green changeling things insta killed my nexus.
I bet the next hero to be released will be Dehaka

You can rally your barracks to attack the rocks, so that way you don't have to manually control the marines.

You've got me wanting to try that now. I think a mech based Stukov army could do just fine.

Diamond backs with their sludge passive and fire while moving is incredible. Same with swann cyclones

I played it as zagara(banelings) with raynor (vultures+marines).I just maxed out and sent all banelings in, I had drop for going up the ramps on right and top. Quite easy. I hoped to see yeu try few commanders on mutation missions.

Nova is good too since Nova's tanks can also deploys mines.
In this mutator the most important thing is to do is defend SCVs cause the Propogators just multiply.

Not sure how it works in the Netherlands, but in the US, working overtime means an increased pay rate, usually a time and a half of normal pay. So SCVs like overtime because that means they're makin' hella bank.
LOL, no SCVs or other races workers work enough 8 hours or more to be entitled as working overtime.
5:10 Is it just me who has never heard Nova say that? And I have played Nova through to mastery.

i have been asking for mass mine for ages, dude finially, they are so op, sometimes they make the hardest mutations easyer, and top of that its so much fun, and u forgot to put to autocast the mine retrain on your units
you probably even know this but Terran in sc1 is sometimes considered OP because of vulture's spidermines
Lowko is walling off, and I'm looking at this like "what?" Like, it seems the props get a single unit, they clone themselves from that building or unit's carcass. Any buildings should be as far away from them as possible since they just take em. But damn they are cool.
Good mutation, fairly easy after the initial surprise from the new mutator.
We got overwhelmed on the first try cuz of that but after that it was ez pz.

And you can also make some medics to heal them. There is a upgrade for his medics to heal mech, so worth to make some.
Sure but he did a chalenge whit only Vulture so no medic could heal them...
Vorazun oracles with stasis ward and the stasis ward upgrade + void ray works well too in this mission.
for me Nova was best. Fenix was doing almost all things, and I was cleaning all this blobs. just snipe it

That's a drop unit exploit. Someone does that during every Lock and Load mutation and posts a vid.
do propagators convert units even if they can't detect them? Like if you send Dark Templars to kill them? I have only really tried like 1 or 2 mutations but not this one so...
so this is why everyone is crazy about mass mines in coop chat.
Lowko mention about cheese in the end of video. I heard Raynor/Artanis cheese on this map has been patched already. It's still working ?

'Fraid not- can't both be the same commander. However! Nova siege tanks can mine things up too, so it's still an amusing massing possibility.
You can go Raynor and Nova since Nova's siege tanks also has mines.
+Definetly Not A Gamer: imagine that Blizzard heard you and than the next patch allows you both to go the same commander. You and your friend go both as Raynor, full mine-build... and you end up against Skytoss :)))
Double Stukov would cause serious lag issues.
In one of the tutorial Corporal Faraday says "they [SCV] think they get paid for overtime" or something like this
First time I tried this mutation I leaped Kerry into 1 and cried lol. I finally did it was zagara and mass banes

An enemy infestasion is a cool idea, but I think they need to excecute it better. This seems to be fairly easy to defend when you get the idea on whats happening.
If they want to use blobs for this just think about the mission Temple of the Past and drop podding blobs xD
Imo a new mission based around these things would work much better.
That certainly would be cool. Dead of Night is a little like that, but this feels far more overwhelming when you don't deal with it effectively.

Karax as well is very guuuuud in this map.
The enemy survivors now have ptsd and only dare travel by jetpack. :)
Is there an option in SC2 to quickcast abilities? (instead of clicking the ability and then left click on the unit you wanna use it on, quickcast in other games makes you just use the ability by simply hovering over the target and pressing the button to cast it). I'm trying to beat the campaign on brutal and the inability to quickcast in this game is making it really difficult :/

Tried it, seems like just mass vultures and forget about everything else makes the game darn easy.

artanis is also extremely good because a high enough number of tempests can one shot a propogator.
I guess Karax' or Fenix' Carriers would work like a charm too.

the propagators arent the biggest problem actually, that slow from being damaged lasts way too long

The problem is if you want to run away from them, the time rifts and slow will kill you.
Zaxton Hong the propagators are only a problem if you dont watch the minimap, with some kiting they are completely useless

Zerg was pretty easy to beat. Especially roach ravaged hydra when you mass tempests (very rarely get slowed)

I open with a Supply Depot first too, but I follow with a CC to optimize my economy.

Though I do want him to play through Wings and Heart. Unless he has... but I don't think so; I think he has just played Legacy and Nova Covert Ops. Either way, then it would also include the mission name, not Mass Mines!
