how serendipitous that the Harp player's name is Alice, like the great Alice Coltrane. Love everything about this music, thanks for bringing so much beauty to this world!!
I love the smooth, mellow tone of this music. Choosing the bass clarinet to double the sax and letting the flute float above everything creates this sweetness that’s not sticky like honey, but rather subtle like the smell of a rose. So beautiful!!
Another wonderful artist and band from Gondwana... And while the accolades for this piece are mainly due to Jasmine and the band's talents, some of the credit for the sound must go to the Howard Assembly Room - I've been to at least three concerts there since the lockdowns during which the musicians commented on the quality of the acoustics. One even came down from the stage to sing one song a cappella just to enjoy the quality of the sound.
Such a well-balanced musical texture. Best saxophone I've heard since denys baptiste's ALTERNATING CURRENTS album, which was amazing. Thank you jasmine and gondwana
Caríssima Jasmine, muito obrigado por compartilhar seu trabalho e seu talento! Lhe desejo Vida Longa e Próspera repleta de Sucesso.... Um forte abraço a partir do Brasil! 🖖🙏👏👏👏👏✨️
Wow! I've been waiting for new music from Jasmine Myra since I saw her live last year - a magnificent concert that blew me away. This new track has been worth the wait 😊 Great video too - love the drapes around the musicians with the album artwork motif 👌
The potato print like cover made me click on it on Bandcamp. Her distinctive tone intrigued sufficiently enough to look her up on Yt. The instrumentation is promising. And in an outer corner of my mind I thought I heard some Garbareksian (once, at least for a decent period of time, our unquestioned favourite) like melody lines which is a good thing when those are from the 70s (including the 4tet of Jarrett). So I'm won.
The doubling of the saxophones and the flurries on the harp are just sheer joy
Gondwana and its musicians have to be one of my best discoveries over the last few years. Fantastic music all around
Me too. I discovered this channel last year.
True
Couldn't have said it better! 😊
Totally true. Gogo penguin, hania rani and now this!!!
Gondwana and KEXP are the best for music 🎉❤🎉
Ditto!
New Generation of Great Musicians - Thank you Gondwana 🙏

We need more music like this. We need to let it touch and move us and try to be better, kinder, and more understanding to one another... Peace please!

Beautiful composition!
Horizons is one of my favourite records of the last couple of year. Can't wait for the new one 🤗
Such a good alternative for fans of Mammal Hands, and Portico Quartet. Fantastic vibe.
This is wild. When the sax hits, I just completely ascended to heaven
I played my Congas along, and it was even more amazing, wish I could sit in on a session. Welp, back to replay😎💝

How you can be so proud to create something like this ❤
So emotional

The mix on this is so gorgeous
Wonderful to see live last week at Cecil Sharp House. Jasmine's life story intro's also add another dimension.
Siempre es un placer escuchar a Jasmine Myra.
Looking forward to the new album🖤☮️
Great production value and attention (as always) from the video's produced by and for Gondwana artists.

Jazz album of the year?
Jasmine's music reminds me of Manu Katche. Very impressive.

The Saxophone parts sounding for me a bit like Passport/Doldinger.

Anyone knows who makes that ligature?
It was made by Dave Walker from All Brass and Woodwind in Leeds 😌
L envie de rature transmettre l ivresse d un peu être 2

A little bit too precious.
Yes, it's not exactly "come as you are", is it? Jazz has to have "that pep" although this does have a lovely sound going for it.
