@@MJoy4Fun Watch the video on TH-cam called “Aliens end scene”. It’s just over two minutes long. It’ll likely bring a tear to your eye when Newt says it.
You just watched the "Director's Cut" of the film. In the theatrical version they showed none of those colony scenes where Newt's parents found the alien ship and her father came back with a facehugger. Thus there was more of a mystery when the Colonial Marines got to the planet.
After seeing Alien, everyone could have guessed that anyway. The special edition is the superior version by a long shot, it gives so much more depth to Ripley's character.
@@filegrabber1 I agree it's the superior version...but I think the effect is better if you see the theatrical cut the first time you watch it and then watch the Director's cut thereafter.
@@flerbus The reason it was cut was because the producing studio thought the movie would be too long for the audience. They also cut the whole fact that Ripley had a daughter. They just dumbed down the movie. The Special Edition gives Ripley's character much more depth, makes her relation with Newt stronger and the battle with the queen Alien a lot more tense. Not to mention the epic scene with the turrets, why the cut that is a mystery to me.

Likewise. These days when you can watch any movie you want at home on demand on a big screen with CGI, it is impossible recreate the experience of seeing one movie per week of whatever is released that week, at a set time or it is gone forever, and finally you get to see a sequel to Alien. When I saw this kept realizing I was gripping the armrests so hard! I would tell myself to relax and then a minute later I gripping them again :-)
Dude's right. Aliens take on physical characteristics of their hosts. That's why you have all sorts of different types of aliens. From runners, to gorillas, to even predaliens. Also, when they reach certain stages of their life cycles, they metamorphosize into different forms, starting from facehugger, to chest burster, to drone, to praetorian to queen (and a few others I'm not up for getting into to).
ALIEN was a haunted house in outer space; ALIENS is a rollercoaster. Such an entertaining chapter in the franchise with Weaver in top form; kudos to a stellar supporting cast incl. the late, great Bill Paxton & the late Stan Winston's astounding f/x including the Queen Alien!
When Marion said "Game Over" I almost choked on my food because that is what Bill Paxton's character Pvt. Hudson says in the movie as he is started to freak out. hahahah
Love how Joy calls "Burke" Clarke in one scene, and then in the scene when Burke turns off the monitor to New't and Ripley, she calls Burke, "Drake".😊Cute😊
As a kid I totally wore out the dvd of this movie Lol. I feel that the "company" DEFINITELY knew what was going on. If they truly wanted to destroy the xenomorphs, they would have sent a well-seasoned commander and at least a few ships with several brigades(?) worth of marines. If Ripley stayed home, Burke's plan to impregnate the others would have worked, and likely would have killed everyone on Earth...
At the very end of the credits, when the screen fades to black, you can hear the sound of an alien face-hugger egg opening (which brings us into Alien 3).
"Aliens": Third Officer Ripley has been found and returned to Gateway station with a Xenomorph-size case of PTSD. What will The Weyland-Yutani Suits make of he blowing up the "Nostomo"? 7:57 The Colonial Marines are going on a Bug Hunt, but THEY are The Bugs!
I just wish they hadn't included that nightmare in the hospital. Burke had given so much important information in that scene, then it turned out to be a dream, which calls all that information into question. It was the only flaw in an otherwise excellent movie. The drones don't care about the "babies," or themselves. Only the Queen cares about the survival of the hive. Using the flamethrower on the body just woke them up.
One of my top 5 favorite SciFi Movies. I remember watching this when it came out in a times square theater. It was standing, clapping and cheering in the audience when Ripley finally closed that airlock after spacing the Alien. I went back to see it at least three times. That is a good assessment. The Aliens do take on some traits or characteristics of their hosts. The 80s had a lot of great movies. Movies that are memorable and Iconic to this day, like Aliens. Best movie in the franchise. What's amazing was how female centric it was. Vasquez and ripley ran rings around the guys. And the final battle was between 2 mothers bc theres nothing mire vicious than a mother protecting her young. They will fu*k u up!
Ellen Ripley's character got the nickname "Momma Bear" for her fans because of this, just as a fun fact. And as an aside, something that's bothered me is how over the past few years, there's this crazy trend of saying that there have never been any strong female characters in movies until these silly comic movies came out. It's so ridiculous.
Fantastic you are watching the Special Edition! I always feel bad whenever someone watches this for the first time, and makes the mistake of getting the shorter (less clear) version.
I disagree. Theatrical version should be seen first in most cases. Case in point for Aliens? Newt. It's better and even more stunning to just have her character come out of nowhere (literally) like it was originally cut. It makes it even more wild that a little girl somehow managed to survive in such a nightmare scenario, and makes it a little more believable that she'd be able to survive towards the end scenes. Plus, when you see the theatrical cut first, it makes you appreciate the additional footage in the extended versions even more.

Marian - I like how you ALWAYS use the term "Game Over" when you watch these movie reactions. This is likely the root source where you got that from. You probably heard it from someone, who heard it from someone, etc... going all the way back to 1986. This movie was the first time I had ever heard "Game Over, Man" used to describe a "We are F***ed" situation. It was Bill Paxton (19:24) who coined it into our modern lexicon for ALL TIME.
Gotta keep truckin thru Alien 3, 4, Prometheus, AC ! 👽 🎥
newt is the girl from the starting where her dad and mom found the alien ship...
Special effects provided by the late, great Stan Winston.
This movie .....is what Spiderman said to Tony stark in infinity war when maw captured Dr strange 😀👍🏾
If Ripley doesn’t empty her weapon into the egg-layer and all her eggs, they could easily have made it onto the ship, and all the aliens would still have been destroyed.
she gotta be the main hero
Game over man! I always thought you got that from this movie lol
