It is easier to mix if u tamper a little batter mixture in d oil then after tampering, mix all in the batter rather than mixing the oil straight to d batter. Remember that the oil is heavier than d batter otherwise theres a tendency deflating d batter.. Just a tip!

You should not be using volumetric measurements for baking. For example, did you know there a US cup is not the same as a UK cup? Or that the volume of sifted flour is not the same as unsifted? With weight measurements, you don't have such a disparity. And in baking, this is actually very important.

just my suggestion, if you only have 1 mixer blade i think you can beat the egg whites first before the egg yolks so you don't have to clean the mixer blade. =)
AJ Castillo you can do that if thats the method you prefer , but my logic is the egg yolk mixture can wait , but the eggwhites hold air and its not good waiting around tendencies it might breakdown if I take to long mixing eggyolk mixture, , if you gonna do that method be sure that you have all your ingridients ready before starting, and you have to work quick but again this is my opinion . :)

Harri Ford I am not sure about the gelo but the bottom of the cake will be dry and form a thin skin which is perfectly fine if it bothers you can easily trim it out.
She uses grams instead of cups on her baking tutorials because its more exact and in baking it must be important your accurate Measuring your flour by weight (100 grams instead of 3/4 cups) will provide much more accurate results in cooking. Please note that converting 100 grams of flour to cups can vary slightly by room temperature, quality of flour etc. But by using 100 grams of flour instead of 3/4 cups, you can't go wrong.

+Maricel Nugas there is no baking powder, the meringue will be your leavening agent, do not overmix the batter
