    Everybody watching this video and scrolling through my comment, please don't hesitate to try this recipe.. it's outstanding (texture wise)!! And tastes just as incredible. Believe me, i don't even have an oven, but i made it in a non-stick cookware. It turned out awesome. Thanks to the one who uploaded this video!

      @@pinalbaxi569 Unless you find some pretty good egg substitute that works in the same way probably not, the egg white foam is what makes the cake fluffy

    I tried making this today!
    The cake was amazing but I kind of failed on the icing. I probably should have let the cream cheese warm up to room temperature completely, but I was being impatient so it ended up lumpy :'(
    The cake itself was really good though! It tasted like the coffee roll cakes I ate when I was younger~
    One thing I changed was that I used white vinegar instead of cream of tartar since I didn't have any and someone else in the comments noted that it can be used as a replacement. I also used a toaster oven with a bake setting instead of a full size oven lol
    Absolutely recommend trying this recipe! Or the cake at the very least.

      @@shujasiddiqui533 I just substituted cream of tartar with vinegar at a 1 to 1 ratio, so 1/2 tsp of vinegar for the halved recipe since it asks for 1/2 tsp of cream of tartar

      If you’re impatient I recommend putting it in the microwave for a few seconds just enough to soften it but not melt it! I always do this and it’s never failed me!

    Hi I made this just today (half recipe) and its super delicious! I just added another 1 tbsp of instant coffee into the cake mixture and placed cashews on top of the cake to make it a Nutty Coffee cake! Thank you for the recipe! 😊

    I tried this recipe, it turned out great and delicious. Love it.
    Just that I have doubt on the coffee mixture. It says 6g coffee powder + 6g water. I tried it and the mixture became thick. When I combined everything, I could feel the cake mixture became dense and difficult to stir thoroughly. I think the correct way is by using spoon to measure both coffee powder and water.

    Ok.. I'm a beginner in making desserts..but if I could do this recipe-- anyone can!!🎉
    Yes I messed up with the meringue bit😅 (Mine's had more of a bubblebath kind of texture/feel..) so instead of the cake being real fluffly.. Mine's ended up with a mudcake kind of texture.. which still tasted really good!💃
    I made this cake for my husband's bday and he isn't a fan of cream cheese..so we replaced the frosting with salted caramel buttercream instead and combined with the coffee cake it's pretty good👍
    My advice for my fellow beginners: try doing the half size portion first 👍 it's enough for 2-3 people and you still hv enough for leftover!

    The best sponge cake I’ve ever made! Super soft and spongy. I used an 8x8 square pan for half recipe and also used a water bath. Baked for 35 min at 180c. However, my frosting didn’t turn out as thick as yours. Would try this with some other frosting recipe next time.

    Oh my gosh it really does melt in the mouth!!
    It's so tasty, not too sweet and perfect for my coffee-lovers family! Love the recipe💞
    Some tips if you're interested, you might already know them :D
    Remember to use only egg whites and only white sugar when you're making the meringue! Or else it won't thicken and form the peaks you require!!
    I personally think the amount of coffee in this recipe is perfect, even if you're the type who's simply addicted to the taste.

    I have made this recipe many times and its sooo good the only thing I would recommend is to use a bit more coffe in the cake only and also do not use the substitute she gave for the frosting it will melt and make the cake soggy .You can also substitute cream of tater with lemon just use the same amount as she said.😁love you savor easy😘🥰

    Can someone please explain how to get two layers? Do you pour it into two pans?
    Also, what is the liquid that gets poured into the frosting?

      Yes Eli, you cut it in half and after you put the cream on it you put the other half on top and repeat.
      The liquid is a tablespoon of instant coffee mixed with a tablespoon of hot water- you put this in the frosting as showed in the video.

      did you separate the whites properly? we made a mistake with the whites the first time (it had some yolk in it) so it just wouldn't fluff. had to throw it away (so wasteful) and redid it again so it was successful.

    Overall good recipe, but would seriously suggest replacing the cream cheese filling with a coffee frosting filling - it just tasted so much better. I tried the original, but everyone said "yuk" to the cream cheese coffee combination. I wasted half a cake. Replaced it with the coffee frosting filling and it was gone overnight.

      Just use a teaspoon of vinegar/lemon juice. It will stabilize ur egg whites so it stays fluffly longer 👌

    Hello, is this recipe enough to bake 3 8"x3" round cakes? Also, will this be stable if i stack them up? Thank you.

    May I know what is the function of cream of tartar?

      it's to stabilize the egg whites, lemon juice works as substitute too
