He may not be from the games, but one of the worst Mentors imo is Xiao Han from the recent Forgotten Temple webtoon. Not only did he fail to prevent the Chinese Brotherhood from being purged, undoing all of Shao Jun's work centuries prior, but his solution is to find a Piece of Eden and use it to overthrow the entire Qing dynasty. It's a plan so nuts even Edward had to step in and try to stop him. Oh, and he also has no issue allowing innocents to die to further his goals. The Qing Dynasty was pretty oppressive towards the Han Chinese, and there were many groups such as the White Lotus and the Tiandihui who fought for a new dynasty. However, Xiao Han became so dedicated to eradicating the Qing that he forgot the very Creed itself, making him the same level as the Qing or a Templar. Though the story of him of “Overthrowing the Qing and restoring the Ming” continues, it is still important to remember, “those who fight monsters must not become monsters themselves.”

I definitely agree with your choice. Especially because I finished playing the game for the first time last night. I’d be interested in an Al Mualim prequel game
In the book secret crusade al Mualin said to young Altair to never reveal how Abas father died because he didn't want the world to know that the father of Abas died a shameful death
Reminds me of Spiderman 2002 when Peter couldn't tell Harry the truth about his father being the Green Goblin and it leading to his death because of the promise Peter/Spiderman made to Harry's dad, which in turn made Harry blame and try to kill Spiderman.
For me, it would have to be Abbas. For al Mualim, he managed to keep the Assassins in line and did provide good lessons for Altair. Also, his motivations stemmed from the Apple's temptation and thinking he could end the Crusades. Abbas, however, only cared about his vendetta with Altair. Every action he took was out of spite towards Altair. He led the Assassins to become lazy and ignore their conflict with the Templars. Killed those that were close to Altair like one of his sons and Malik. And he carried this grudge for the entirety of his life. While the Assassins under his rule lost their respect for him, mocked him, and quickly turned on him when Altair returned.
You forgot about Sergei from Russia, he have some very villain mania of killing childs, he ordened to make some studies that torture and kill innocent people, even an 16 years old orphan girl, he even deserted Nicolaï for want to save her, he even follow Nicolaï to the middle of nothing and menaced ro kill his son for he return to job for the Assassin's, he is a very cruel Mentor.

Shay and his sons fill that role in the novels, taking orders from the Mentor's Council. In fact, that's actually what resulted in the fates of Mackandal, Avilin, and Conor.

Achilles in my opinion his decision to go after the precursor box got thousands killed, his arrogance lead the the demise of the colonial brotherhood, his failures allowed the templars to basically rule over the colonies until connor became a assassin, he made the assassins lose their way and fight for a goal that was different from which many assassins before him would go against and he runs the assassins went a "my way or the highway" way of thinking which if you go against him you are basically going against the assassins which would either get you kicked out or killed

I would say either Al Mualim or Abbas. However, now that I think about it, Abbas became the man he is because Al Mualim told Altaïr to not tell Abbas the truth about his dad’s death, which he did anyways. And Al Mualim never confirmed nor denied the truth, causing Abbas’s hatred for Altaïr. Hell, in Revelations, Altaïr said that Abbas hated Al Mualim just as much as Altaïr. So had Al Mualim not committed these mistakes, then this domino effect would have never happened.
Achilles’s Brotherhood also involved dark actions such as poisoning New York’s population, working with bandits, attacking Colonel Monroe and his men despite there being a surrender, and flying flags with the Assassin symbol on them at their hideouts in New York. Sure these were more his students’ fault like Hope and Captain Louis-Joseph but Achilles let these events happen.
Achilles had no reason to trust Shay. In the brief interactions they had, Shay always did his own thing and didn't care what others said. So when Shay says "Don't go searching precursor sites" means very little. Plus by the end of AC Rogue Achilles realised that Shay was right. Altair wouldn't be the wise mentor he is if its not for Al Mualim. A hidden detail during Altair last hug with Darim you can see in the reflection in the puddle, he basically become the Al Mualim who never went astray.
For me it's Abbas or Achilles because a they both do bad or dumb things and don't go with the Creed but mostly Abbas and why because of all the things he has done but in the end it's my opinion

Abbas has a slim chance if for some reason Al Mualim kept a mock version of the Creed in place and decided to use Abbas as a weak minded figurehead to keep order....and most likely brainwashed him to believe the new corrupt Creed's tenets Other then that, the other characters may well have never been born...or at the very least would never have been part of the Brotherhood...let alone a Mentor
I think Achilles isn't one of the worse ones; yes if he did listen to Shaw in Rogue then the Colonial Brotherhood wouldn't have been wiped out or him crippled and broken. Connor did bring hope back to Achilles by bring the Brotherhood back to life during the Revolutionary War and he also did die happy knowing what Connor did for him. He wasn't just a mentor to Connor, but like a father to him. Connor never really knew Haytham and Achilles did so much for him; even gave him his son's name because Connor was like a son to him etc.
Al muallim was the best mentor, while he had ulteir motive, he was intellegent, patient and wise. In his hands brotherhood become really strong and raised many capable Assassins. Abbas on the other used brotherhood to dirting Assassins creed so he can spit on Altair face. In his hands brotherhood become really weak.
No one seems to be talking about the Mentor who destroyed an entire underground city and killed a lot of innocent civilians by smoke asphyxiation or fire just to MAYBE lure out one old fat ass. The Mentor who took assassination orders from a random teenager after one observation. The Mentor who cared more about his personal feelings towards vengeance than the safety of the world. (After already killing god knows how many people). And the Mentor who destroyed an entire harbor instead of sneaking out a city like, you know, an Assassin would.
I still say Achilies was pretty bad being a mentor means you need patience. Had he talked calmly with Shay hed likely still be a Assassin. Were i him while Shay brooded at the campfire i would of walked up apologized for my outburst then ask him to go into detail what he saw. After that would of told Shay we will summon the Assassins in the morning and decide what to do with the artifacts. A proper debriefing would of helped Shay calm down.
Achilles was the worst ngl. I'm gonna say a lot ot things that happend bc Aquiles refused to listen. - Destroyed a lot of places - Didn't listen to Shay when he told him that taking those relics would lead to disaster - Made Shay go Rogue - Bc Shay went rogue the next things happend: All his better Assassins died, the Brotherhood in America lost control, which leads to events of Ac 3, and kills Arno's father at the beginning of Unity - He became handicapped, not able to do anything anything of Assassin's job anymore All that shit could've been avoided if the man would've listened to Shay when he told him to stop
my personal ranking goes as follows: 1 Al Mualim since he betrayed the brotherhood from it's very roots 2 Mackandal since he disregarded everything the Assasins stood for 3 Achiles since he brought the colonial brotherhood to its knees, and without Connor, there would be no brotherhood in America
It's definitely a toss-up between Al Mualim and Abbas for the worst Assassin mentor. Al Mualim literally sought to destroy the Brotherhood and betrayed everything it stood for, while Abbas was leading the Brotherhood to ruin all because of his own personal issues with Altair. I can't decide which is worse. Wiping out an order in one swoop, or gradually hurting an order over time.
I think Al Mualim was worst, because Altaïr could defeat and stop Abbas in jus 1 day, and Al Mualim he needed to waste decades to defeat all his influence.
I would say Achilles because where as with Al Muslim there were assassins left to keep the creed alive. With Achilles he made shay side with the templars and destroy colonial brotherhood.
Hot take: Al Mualim isn't that bad. Yes he betrayed the Order, but his teachings were genuine; he didn't preach a corrupt or diluted version of the Creed. What Altair learned from Al Mualim & his downfall facilitated Altair progression into a revolutionary Mentor.
Al Mualim is indeed fills like the worst mentor, you can say whatever you want about Abbas; but at least he can be considered an "Assassin", while Al Mualim literally tried to betray his own organization for his own goals and ways!
Agate is probably the worst mentor, because at least Al Mualim kept the brotherhood toguether before getting the apple. The context is way different in these games, and I think the others would be worse if they were in that situation.
I think agate is the worst mentor mostly just because of how terrible he is specifically as a mentor, al mualim may be terrible but he wasn't bad as a mentor, he made some of the best assasins like altair, and none of his actions made him less effective as a mentor, agate on the other hand would literately rather kill himself than listen to avaline
I would argue that the French Brotherhood council of mentors was the worst because they failed to see that Bellec was killing them off, they oust Arno under the guise that he broke the tenants of the creed (he didn't) & are stubborn traditionalists.
Arno don"t killed innocents (just in coop missions, he needed kill some cops, but that doens't count), used steath and what? Be the boyfriend of his Templar step-sister is a dogma break? Altaïr married a Templar and was one of the biggest Assassin's of all time.
Abbas always and will forever piss me off! Aways doubting Altiar of his actions and all because of a misplaced accusation of Abbas’s father committing suicide! And then decades of lousy mentorship of Masyaf leading people to suffer and killing his own Assassins and Maria which is totally against the second tenet of the creed. In the end he died as he lived…a weak man.
Accusation? Bruh Abbas' father did commit suicide. And Altair was specifically told not to tell Abbas but did it anyway. No boy that young would want to believe their father off themselves like that. What Abbas became is partly Altair's fault. Abbas wasn't ready for the burden of the truth.
For me it’s Excluding modern day American sect in general. For the mentors we know of they did a pretty shit job in general And though I agree with Al maualon being the outright worst as he almost single handedly destroyed the creed. The Americans are the cause for their loss. The American branch was the branch by a large margin closest to their goal. The closest to destroying the templars, finding out about the isu, and freeing the world. outside of the time gorgetir was burned or Alfred betrayed the system (other two were not assassin controlled victories but outside forces). They almost did it. Then the sins of their souls hit back and they ruined everything and everyone at the finish line all because of fanatism
Al Mulaim and others we’re selfish power hungry bastard assassins. Achilles was complex. He should never been mentor he was not mentally fit to do so. Only if Achilles listened to the lone wolf Shay Cormac the assassins would have turned the tide in their favor. Achilles was willing to sacrifice tens of thousands of lives to one up on the Templars and resort to terroristic tactics on the people. Lone Wolf actually helped the Templars win the war based on what was right and what was wrong.
I still say it’s Achilles. At least with the others it was just a simple case of them being overall bad people, Achilles was a terrible Mentor due to absolute stupidity and pride. He caused a continental catastrophe that killed thousands of people and destroyed their homes. He pushed away Shay, a loyal, guilt stricken comrade who was following Achilles’ orders which resulted in him betraying the Assassins and turning to the Templars; and wiping out the Colonial Brotherhood to the point that Achilles was the only one left. And it still took a decade for him to finally admit and apologize to Shay that he was wrong. All of that because one guy couldn’t admit that he was wrong and that he had made a mistake.
It’s been awhile since I’ve played Unity but wasn’t the creed in Paris pretty shitty to Arno? Atleast Altair turned out to be a complete badass thanks to Al mualims mentorship gotta give him that
Arno kinda went off and killed Templars without going to them first so they had trust issues. Mirabeau was kind of a shitty mentor but he had faith in Arno and was kind and open to Templar truces
I think abbas he only gained power only to ruin altair life and try to kill him and killed swf Altair son but youre rught you have more reason to question my opinion.
Honestly, Altiare has a strong case for worst mentor. I mean let's look at the facts. For the negatives of his case. Here you have a man who inserts himself into the position that in his brief time gets reduced from Mentor in all things to only Mentor in name because everyone knows that his wife's actually making the good calls. Good job Maria. For the positives. He stole all his positive ideas from Alexios, Biak, and Aya. As a means of managing the order, he's like Book Ned Stark regarding the position of Hand of the King. When Abias tried to usurp power following Al Mualim's death, make an example of him by exile or execution. Instead, he kept the scheming snake around and that snake kept scheming. When going to fight the Mongols either put your wife in charge or your eldest son and surround him with loyalists instead of leaving your son isolated without his powerbase. Had he done either of these options Abias would've at least stayed his blade out of fear as Maria and son would or command more respect as both Mentor and Assassin since they never once violated the Creed and Maria's decisions in particular raised the order to magnificence. And that if he did try, he would've most likely been caught and killed on the spot. Instead, Altiare puts his youngest in charge without even a basic guard and as a result, Abais kills the son with ease and launches a cue of the order leading to his own exile. However, Altiare could've maintained Abais's respect if he hadn't broken the Treaty of Britania. Which was designed by Alexios, Avior, Evior, Kasandra, and Alfred the Great to maintain eternal peace between the two orders. Something that he could've easily done by penning a letter to the Grandmaster's Council inquiring about Al' Mualim's actions. Which the council would've responded with the truth. "Although Al' Mualim was a Templar Intermediary between our order and the Assassins he acted alone in his greed-driven power grab and the treaty may resume as usual." Instead, Altaire ordered the Templar Order decapitated which long term only accomplished the renewing of hostilities and the Templars being more difficult to fight in the future.

Were i him while Shay brooded at the campfire i would of walked up apologized for my outburst then ask him to go into detail what he saw. After that would of told Shay we will summon the Assassins in the morning and decide what to do with the artifacts. A proper debriefing would of helped Shay calm down.
He shot Achilles in the heels, who saw that coming?
Achilles was the worst ngl. I'm gonna say a lot ot things that happend bc Aquiles refused to listen.
- Destroyed a lot of places
- Didn't listen to Shay when he told him that taking those relics would lead to disaster
- Made Shay go Rogue
- Bc Shay went rogue the next things happend: All his better Assassins died, the Brotherhood in America lost control, which leads to events of Ac 3, and kills Arno's father at the beginning of Unity
- He became handicapped, not able to do anything anything of Assassin's job anymore
All that shit could've been avoided if the man would've listened to Shay when he told him to stop
Aren't we forgetting al mulim was a sage
Source?
You should do the best Master Assassin or best Assassin Mentor
my personal ranking goes as follows:
1 Al Mualim since he betrayed the brotherhood from it's very roots
2 Mackandal since he disregarded everything the Assasins stood for
3 Achiles since he brought the colonial brotherhood to its knees, and without Connor, there would be no brotherhood in America
U should do who's the worst assassin protagonist in the series
Al Mualim trained Altair well though,we can atleast acknowledge that.
Has to be Achilles Davenport... His ego and lack of judgment led to the demise of the Brotherhood in North America.
It's a split for me between Abbas or Achilles
When are you gonna make a discord server?
I agree its al mualim. OK next worst templar grandmaster? Got a bigger list there.
I don't think Achilles is objectively the worst mentor, but he's the one I hate the most tbh, even in AC3 he was annoying af
Anybody know who the right guy on the thumbnail is?
I think agate is the worst mentor mostly just because of how terrible he is specifically as a mentor, al mualim may be terrible but he wasn't bad as a mentor, he made some of the best assasins like altair, and none of his actions made him less effective as a mentor, agate on the other hand would literately rather kill himself than listen to avaline
will you do who is the most important assassin?
Thats relative depending on what way you mean it.
Has to be Altair
I get it but he trained altair and more assassins at a super high level
I think it has to be Pierre if I remember correctly he was just using the creed for his own benefit.
He wan't a Mentor
I would argue that the French Brotherhood council of mentors was the worst because they failed to see that Bellec was killing them off, they oust Arno under the guise that he broke the tenants of the creed (he didn't) & are stubborn traditionalists.
Arno don"t killed innocents (just in coop missions, he needed kill some cops, but that doens't count), used steath and what? Be the boyfriend of his Templar step-sister is a dogma break? Altaïr married a Templar and was one of the biggest Assassin's of all time.
@@DeibdleeSilva exactly what I'm saying, the French brotherhood leadership were a bunch of hypocrites
@@deadponic117 i think they din't even know how to do a freerunning, a normal thing for an Assassin.
What Roshan and the french assassin mentor I forgot his name
Roshan was alright wdym
Achilles, not even close.
In my opinion the French Brotherhood were incompetent as well.
Can we just say Jacob lmfao he created a serial killer
What about Roshan?
Agate is one of the few characters IN FICTION... who made me legitimately want to stop following the story.
Now do best Mentor!
Batman is the worst of the Assassin Mentors
For me it’s
Excluding modern day
American sect in general.
For the mentors we know of they did a pretty shit job in general
And though I agree with Al maualon being the outright worst as he almost single handedly destroyed the creed.
Good video
Al Maulin
By technicality he was trying to kill and or brainwash you. I mean kind of hard to top
To me i think the worst mentor is roshan
adopt me master assassin. read me bed time stories of assassins creed lore
💀
where Roshan? she was just dumb bruh
Yo this dude went through puberty. I disapear for a year boy sounds like a man now
Almualim (whatever his name is)
isnt a mentor, its just manipulator 💀
typical egoistic narcisst who only acted nice
Abbas hands down the worst that guy is to much of an ass and stubborn/narcissistic and lacks of knowledge and wisdom that assassins needs .
@@MrRaxicorniopholus ohhh ok I remember now thanks
bro did deccan wolepole bad in last vid
Wait by mentor do you me grand master
I think abbas he only gained power only to ruin altair life and try to kill him and killed swf Altair son but youre rught you have more reason to question my opinion.
henry green from syndicate is the worst
achilles
Feel that mikandal is worst he savage killing others cause he deosnt care
Worst mentor is ackilles
yippee I'm quick here this time
Wouldnt Connor technically be considered the mentor of the American brotherhood after Achilles death?
Yes, but he was a good Mentor, everybody liked him and the colonial brotherhood grew up a lot.
Connor was top tier,he even trained Adewales grandson.
It was also said colonial templars never recovered.
@newhybrid101 all of Shay's work was undone by Connor and his Assassins.
AL Mu Ah Lim!!
best guy
You should dobthe best mentors
abas is by me the worst
What about... the Most Mediocre (Meh) Mentor? MMMM 😂😂😂
You forgot about Ezio, he becomes a mentor in Brotherhood and mentors a lot of people in Revelations
"Although Al' Mualim was a Templar Intermediary between our order and the Assassins he acted alone in his greed-driven power grab and the treaty may resume as usual." Instead, Altaire ordered the Templar Order decapitated which long term only accomplished the renewing of hostilities and the Templars being more difficult to fight in the future.
its john f fortnite
Mentor Rayhan was the best mentor and his character is even better than the likes of Kratos and Arthur Morgan
Prob me but you Are the best master assassin or mentor of course!🫡🫡
