Actually Altair was the first with dual hidden blades chronologically. In the memories of the keys in revelations he had dual hidden blades in the memory and onwards from when he was 63 years old and fled Mayaf with his son. That's as to how Ezio even got the idea from the codex pages. And the credit can also go to him for the poison blade and hidden gun as those blueprints were also found from the codex pages. The crossbow got removed from gameplay because it wasn't historically accurate (back when they cared about such things). Edward also had access to a singular throwing knife if he took it from the enemy that used a dagger. It could also be taken back from an enemy he hit and killed with it.
I doubt Altair was the first Assassin to think about strapping a second hidden blade to his other arm, especially given that the finger sacrifice wasn't strictly speaking necessary even with the older design. (Interesting fact, there is no logical reason for the finger sacrifice to have been needed anyway as the standard wrist mounted double action knife requires outstretched fingers to even deploy and the blade doesn't even fit in that gap unless specifically designed to, which would over complicate an extraordinarily simple mechanism)
"While the blade once required a sacrifice, it has been modified to no longer need it." Leonardo Da Vinci. The hidden blade was DESIGNED TO REQUIRE a sacrifice in the ring finger, and it was done away with so as to allow the assassin to blend better (it's not particularly easy to get by with a missing finger) and to allow for the use of another. This is explained In universe and pictures as the blade being slightly lower during the time of Altair, the ring finger impeding this motion. Now while this is kind of bogus, it kind of makes sense during Altair's time, as during then, nothing was known about the blade, even who created it. In later entries, it is explained as being simply part of tradition, beginning with Bayek of Siwa accidentally severed his finger what le trying to use the blade under the wrist, a manner which its design did not permit. So, by AC1 logic, it's just a sci-fi hand waving away from the 'rule of cool's' influence by explanation of: It's tradition/it's traditional sacrifice to ensure loyalty. By AC origins-mirage, it's: It's tradition based on the founder of the Hidden Ones, due to the blade being positioned on the above the wrist during their foundation.

It’s definitely a harder piece of equipment to counter or make harder to use. The only way to really hinder it would be get close enough to damage it or break the cable as it’s in use, both requiring serious skill and the latter either knowing when it will be used or manipulating Jacob or Evie into using it.

The one main point I feel like should be brought up is that, using real life logic, when you are trying to decide what to bring with you for any given situation (camping, jogging, a party, etc.) it's important to only bring what you need as a way to cut down on excess weight and clutter. Yeah it's impressive that Ezio has a parachute, but how often is he really going to NEED that parachute. On any day that he doesn't use it, which I assume isn't often since most assassin's are able to just do a leap of faith from any given height, it's just excess weight that he has to haul around with him. There is such a thing as being TOO equipped, and that's something that should be considered when you're talking about how well someone is equipped.
Oh I agree it’s the reason why in real life military forces don’t just carry 100 guns on them and everything they can physically pick up. Wait plays a lot into the operation and also understanding what you need for the specific mission. I can explain the stripping of weapons in Black Flag, and also raise an argument for Edward Kenway's weapons. The ship. The cannons. That's where the focus was. All the pirating.
Like the Batman/ezio comparison, it’s funny because that’s how my cousin convinced me to get AC2 (my first AC ). Said “He’s like Batman but in older time” lol, had me hooked from there and here we are now.
As for favourite loadout? I honestly think Kenway's got the edge. For the time period, he went *exceedingly* well armed, and despite not quite knowing what he was getting into, he took to the life of an Assassin quite well.
I like to think Arno's disguises could have been made realistic rather than an animus hack. There's a ton of those closets where you could put on disguises. It would have also been another reason to build out the social club - get more disguises.
Young conner verse young ezio .bro ezio was just a little rich kid when conner was out hunting. Yo conner would hunt my man ezio ,like alien vs predator 😅
It's no wonder why Ezio's so stacked out; he has Leonardo da Vinci acting like his quartermaster, giving him a number of his upgrades via the codex pages alone. It's like Ezio's 007 and Da Vinci's 'Q'. That and the fact Altair was the one who documented these gadgets, he had a lot of mentors past and present helping him out in his journey as a master assassin.
Its pretty funny how arno got the phantom blade, which already sort of existed in the form of the poison dart blade ezio had. That kinda makes the phantom blade feel pointless, as if it didn't really do anything special; it's essentially just a reskinned throwing knife plus poison dart.
I personally loved how brutal Connor was, using the Tomahawk is awesome as the finishers and chained animations on a a hit are just so viscous. He's one of my favorite characters. When he tells off George Washington for killing Natives is just so good. The Tyranny Of King Washington really amplifies his rage and by the end he barely cares about helping people, just killing. Super underrated game IMO
People tend to mention Edward not being an Assassin for the majority of the game but forget that Ezio wasn't inducted into the creed until just before the last mission of AC2.
Ezio in brotherhood is like Tony stark he has hidden gun with instant reload & pin point accuracy, solid armour, parachutes & his avengers ie his assassins recruits which he can assemble anytime.
I initially disagreed, and thought Edward was best with his 4 op pistols and rope darts. Ezio can combine his knives and hidden gun with his crossbow to use a ton of projectiles really fast. I guess Ezio is best equipped. His reload speed is insane to say the least while Edward needs time to reload.
If I had to top 5 them, it'd be 5. Arno 4. Edward 3. Frye twins 2. Connor 1. Ezio Unless any of them have a parachute, you can't argue with ezio. Connor was raised a hunter but grew up to be an assassin, so he incorporated those two skill sets which resulted with him being the most brutal fighter among the others. The gear he has like the trap bombs, rope dart, bow, hidden blade and pistols can be used to dispatch both animals and enemies. He can equip different weapons for people too like the tomahawk as a sub weapon, while swords, axes, clubs and muskets as his main weapon. Plus he has the shield of virginity ring which deflected bullets Frye twins have more modern weapons and more efficient ways to hide them. Waiting for the perfect time to strike with their silent array of weapons, they can maim, distract, kill and turn enemies against one another with deadly precision. Plus, they have a portable zipline. The gauntlets fit 3 items into one and that's not even including the kukri, cane sword, revolvers and brass knuckles they have to take down 4 enemies at once. Very classy equipment. Just wish they weren't so funny in 16th century Victorian era London... Edward has many of the tools Connor has in a sense that he literally just doubled it. Two more swords, four more pistols, 20 more cannons, twice the ego, five more dead friends, etc. Technically you can say that Edward has more weapons than connor but that's missing the point. He does have his blowdart tho. It doesn't matter too much, Connor may have fought an army single-handedly but the jackdaw has a golden mortar cannon, you can't have it all. Anyways, just because Edward has more pistols doesn't mean he has a broader arsenal is what I'm saying Arno is at the same level of efficiency as altair I feel. He has a lot more stealth variety if you include the adjustable armor being part of his gear, but all in all he just has a secret crossbow and one less hidden blade than the rest. I say it's admirable though because he still managed to liberate France, rid the country of Templar influence without assassin resources, and reclaim a lost. legendary sword that's been kept hidden by the templars for about 700+ years with nothing more than smoke bombs, hidden blades and the power of super listening to things. Altair was the same and he managed to rebuild the entire assassin brotherhood. Goes to show you don't need a lot of gear to make a big difference
Another great video MasterAssassin 🙏 I don't know how to word this video idea but something along the lines of What was the best sect of the Brotherhood, like the Parisian, Levantine or Americas. Who had the most well established, strongest, most honorable brotherhood.
I personally feel like Arno is a better equipped assassin even tho he has fewer weapons. He is better equipped to be an ASSASSIN than ezio since i feel like ezio went a little overboard and prepared for a war also im pretty sure arno has better stealth weapons which is more important to assassins than having a parachute or a hookblade
You should make this video again once AC Mirage comes out. The game's blurb says Basim is supposed to be "the most versatile assassin in franchise history". Hope he lives up to that statement.
First pick for me is Ezio. If we're going with a composited set of his tools and weapons throughout his three games, he EASILY gets the top spot for me. The absolute quantity of gadgets Ezio's added to his equipment throughout his trilogy is just insane. Second on my list is Connor. Ratonhnhake:ton is surprisingly stacked to the brim with the amount of equipment he has. From his tomahawk, to the bow and arrow, his hidden pivot blade, the rope dart, flintlock pistol, etc. The man is not lacking in options. Next up, it's a tie between Edward and Adewale to me. Both characters have a rather high number of weapons and tools for them to use. Their weapons and tool selection make them both prime examples of well prepared combatants.
Sad that we can't get the design for evie. Hers was silver on the promotional material. We only have Jacob's gold hidden blade gauntlet in the game. Ok by me, as the gold looks better and I like Jacob more, but still.
For Altair, I think that Hashashin were known for using only blades and no bows/crossbows, and the Assassins of Altair's era are based on the Hashashin Medieval crossbow doesn’t came to its existence in the late 11th century but the 14th century in Europe because reload times takes some times and used to defend castle during that times I think
Would be interesting to see Shay included here as well, since he had a freaking GRENADE LAUNCHER that could shoot 3 different type of grenades as well as 3 different types of darts. Plus all of the usual equipment the assassins of that time period used. I think he could be a worthy contender for Ezio.
From my personal standpoint, I would have to say who has the most equipment would have to be Connor. I say Conor for the sole purpose of him having both plenty of land based combative capabilities but also the Aquila. Equipment and resources are all in need of abundance and Connor in my opinion has plenty especially with Davenport Manor. Resources for more equipment and tools to his and the Assassin's in America over all disposal makes him the best stocked. Not counting the DLC motions but you know no one does.
3:19 The technology was definitely possible. Gunpowder was invented in the 9th century, AC1 is set in the 12th century. They literally had the technology to make guns (for the most part) for almost 300 years. The first gun that we know of was invented in 1000 AD. 191 years before the game was set.
I think the reason why they reduced the variety of equipments is because i think the devs want to give us a challenge so that we coulc invest more time and enjoy more with limited stuff we try harder and we play the game more and more
after watching this video made me realize that the most important part of the assassin doesn't have a video yet "who has the best hidden blade" surely you can make a video about that maybe i'm mistaken and haven't seen it yet
Connor gets my vote. While not 100% effective; he does have the ring of eden. And there's no record of him relinquishing it like other assassins and their pieces of eden (swords and such, aside).
I alone think the best equipped assassin is Shay, I know I know, Shay isn't an assassin but seriously, the man has a grenade launcher and an Air Rifle which are cool, that's perhaps the traditional asasin equipment
Nothing beats the og single hidden blade that one is one of my favorite but my personal favorite was ezios blade it had and still has the most variety all on one arm it had Guns Poison darts Hidden blade Hook
The amount of people who dont know you can counter kill with the Snare equipped is fucking _criminal_ . Snare in combat is unironically the most badass fucking weapon in all the games. ALL OF THEM.
I don't really understand why the "Phantom Blade" was such a big deal, since Ezio had the poison darts in Brotherhood. And it didn't require a miniature crossbow.
Altair: “I need Blades, lots of Blades.”
Edward Kenway: “I need Guns, lots of Guns.”

Ezio is Batman and Da Vinci is his Lucius Fox
Remember guys that frye twin pistol is a freaking revolver that kind of op
Honestly I want to see Conor and Ezio fight now 😂 (arguably)the two best equipped assassins
Conner: Who are you?
Ezio: I am vengeance.
Imagine Ezio just standing there and than sees conner full speed sprinting at him
Young conner verse young ezio .bro ezio was just a little rich kid when conner was out hunting. Yo conner would hunt my man ezio ,like alien vs predator 😅
Altair :- Blades
Edward :- GUNS
Ezio :- MONEY!!!
Arno :- Guillotine gun go boom
Very good
It's no wonder why Ezio's so stacked out; he has Leonardo da Vinci acting like his quartermaster, giving him a number of his upgrades via the codex pages alone. It's like Ezio's 007 and Da Vinci's 'Q'. That and the fact Altair was the one who documented these gadgets, he had a lot of mentors past and present helping him out in his journey as a master assassin.
Grown up on Assassin’s Creed so anything AC is a must watch
Its pretty funny how arno got the phantom blade, which already sort of existed in the form of the poison dart blade ezio had. That kinda makes the phantom blade feel pointless, as if it didn't really do anything special; it's essentially just a reskinned throwing knife plus poison dart.
Ma boi Adè getting some love let's goooooooo!!!!!
Bayeks legendary weapons were op
Imagine Desmond having armor.
Desmond: *appears in Iron Man suit* “Call me Iron Assassin.”
Desmond is food for worms now , nothing else
Considering the voice actor for Ezio also voiced Batman in Arkham Origins, the analogy is Perfect.
People tend to mention Edward not being an Assassin for the majority of the game but forget that Ezio wasn't inducted into the creed until just before the last mission of AC2.
But he was being trained to be one.
But he basically jumps into the whole assassin thing like right after the prolonge .
That rope dart in ac3 was so cool to use
Ezio in brotherhood is like Tony stark he has hidden gun with instant reload & pin point accuracy, solid armour, parachutes & his avengers ie his assassins recruits which he can assemble anytime.
I initially disagreed, and thought Edward was best with his 4 op pistols and rope darts. Ezio can combine his knives and hidden gun with his crossbow to use a ton of projectiles really fast. I guess Ezio is best equipped. His reload speed is insane to say the least while Edward needs time to reload.
If I had to top 5 them, it'd be
5. Arno
4. Edward
3. Frye twins
2. Connor
1. Ezio
Unless any of them have a parachute, you can't argue with ezio.
Plus he has the shield of virginity ring which deflected bullets
Frye twins have more modern weapons and more efficient ways to hide them.
Anyways, just because Edward has more pistols doesn't mean he has a broader arsenal is what I'm saying
Arno is at the same level of efficiency as altair I feel.
U gotta do who's the worst assassin who almost lead the creed to destruction
I was gonna say, why didn’t we get Odyssey or Valhalla but then again they’re technically not assassins, but I love your videos
6:56 he actually had two pistols. U can upgrade the no. of pistols he can carry (max being 2)
Connor was my favorite...
Another great video MasterAssassin 🙏 I don't know how to word this video idea but something along the lines of What was the best sect of the Brotherhood, like the Parisian, Levantine or Americas. Who had the most well established, strongest, most honorable brotherhood.
I don't care what anyone thinks, the 'Persona' system in "Liberation" was cool and it needs to be brought back in some way in the future
Just finished black flag and now playing unity Arno's smoke bombs might be the most OP equipment in any assassins creed game.
You should make this video again once AC Mirage comes out. The game's blurb says Basim is supposed to be "the most versatile assassin in franchise history". Hope he lives up to that statement.
Man I love your vids
You should do a "which assassin is the most stylish" video next if you haven't already
The frye twins win by a long shot if you ask me, the grapel, revolver, and communications, are just on another level
Coo to see Adewale, need to give freedom cry another playthrough, I vaguely remember it
The Frye twins win it for me. The Assassin gauntlet has a blade, grappling hook and poisondarts all in one.
Sad that we can't get the design for evie. Hers was silver on the promotional material. We only have Jacob's gold hidden blade gauntlet in the game. Ok by me, as the gold looks better and I like Jacob more, but still.
I know eivor isn’t an assassin but it would have been cool to see him also considering he had a hidden blade and many other cool weapons
For Altair, I think that Hashashin were known for using only blades and no bows/crossbows, and the Assassins of Altair's era are based on the Hashashin
Medieval crossbow doesn’t came to its existence in the late 11th century but the 14th century in Europe because reload times takes some times and used to defend castle during that times I think
Dutch Vanderlinde: I had plan, a good plan.
my initial answer is ezio or altair because i thought of them as the most elite assasins but i forgot about gear a little
Would be interesting to see Shay included here as well, since he had a freaking GRENADE LAUNCHER that could shoot 3 different type of grenades as well as 3 different types of darts. Plus all of the usual equipment the assassins of that time period used. I think he could be a worthy contender for Ezio.
Bayek is like: Give me a blade, a shield, a bow and a hidden blade and I will conquer the whole Egypt
Desmond since he has a smart phone.
I think it's important to note that Ezio had three whole games to get a ton of equipment. That certainty puts him at a bit of an advantage.
3:19 The technology was definitely possible. Gunpowder was invented in the 9th century, AC1 is set in the 12th century. They literally had the technology to make guns (for the most part) for almost 300 years. The first gun that we know of was invented in 1000 AD. 191 years before the game was set.
11:12 I loved the knives in revelations. So much fun.
I think the reason why they reduced the variety of equipments is because i think the devs want to give us a challenge so that we coulc invest more time and enjoy more with limited stuff we try harder and we play the game more and more
I mean, after playing rogue trying to beat it. why need anything else when you got a gun? lol
everybody gangsta until desmond pulls out his akm47 and rpg
I know there not assassins but I want u to include odyssey and valahalla next time
after watching this video made me realize that the most important part of the assassin doesn't have a video yet "who has the best hidden blade" surely you can make a video about that
maybe i'm mistaken and haven't seen it yet
Blades , guns, darts, rope darts, swords, canons, ships , armors, bombs.
You name it , Edward Kenway has it
Ezio and the frye twins were always my favourite when it came to the gear.
Connor gets my vote. While not 100% effective; he does have the ring of eden. And there's no record of him relinquishing it like other assassins and their pieces of eden (swords and such, aside).
Ezio is literally the Italian Renaissance Batman.
Most inyersting topic by far
I alone think the best equipped assassin is Shay, I know I know, Shay isn't an assassin but seriously, the man has a grenade launcher and an Air Rifle which are cool, that's perhaps the traditional asasin equipment
You should do who is the most Ruthless
Nothing beats the og single hidden blade that one is one of my favorite but my personal favorite was ezios blade it had and still has the most variety all on one arm it had
Guns
Poison darts
Hidden blade
Hook
When are you going to make a video on the Jack the Ripper DLC we’ve been waiting for so long
YES, FINALLY, THANK YOU MASTER
The amount of people who dont know you can counter kill with the Snare equipped is fucking _criminal_ . Snare in combat is unironically the most badass fucking weapon in all the games. ALL OF THEM.
Ac liberation has a special place in my heart just because I played that shit on the vita back in the day
I don't really understand why the "Phantom Blade" was such a big deal, since Ezio had the poison darts in Brotherhood. And it didn't require a miniature crossbow.
5:35 you forgot to mention the bullet proof armor
Ezio's firearm is in fact, historical. It's accuracy isn't, but there were in fact, matchlock firearms in the time of Leonardo.
Definitely the Frye twins. A rope launcher is extremely op for a assassin. + the semi automatic pistol.
