My thoughts too! Had his conscience not bugged him and he not followed up this could’ve been so much worse. Imagine him through all of these revelations! That would make one very wary of people in the future.
@blumusdu There is no way to tell what caused him to stay home. We know the nursery was not ready for the baby's arrival so he may have needed to take care of this. I'm not going to judge this man. His not being at the birth. Clearly rescued this boys.

The thought of a person becoming a SOCIAL WORKER for the sake of enjoying the horrors that they will witness rather than helping to prevent them is the most diabolical thing I've ever imagined. 🤮💔
It’s extremely common for them to target professions that give them access to vulnerable children. There was a case recently of a children’s mental health doctor who was caught with horrendous CP. I’m sure he was weaponising his position in his job and those children would have been unlikely to be believed. This is why we should always believe victims, all victims of abuse. Because it’s exceptionally rare that people make false accusations.
@@SassySlater OMG. I know about the massive short comings and unacceptable failures of the many CPS divisions and even the heinous behaviors of some professions as you described. I've just never even considered someone would purposely seek out a position IN SOCIAL SERVICES for that particular evil reason. I really didn't think I was that naïve. @@Kris.with.a.K It's not uncommon for people to get involved with churches where they can groom and prey on kids, i.e. Catholic priests. Can you imagine being an investigator on this case? Or how long would this have continued if this was not caught by the neighbor's baby cam? Utterly mind boggling. I can't imagine how those poor boys suffered. I hope they're out there somewhere, safe and living their best lives.
People that are supposed to keep our kids safe and REPORT incidents of abuse so that the Social Workers can swoop in to save them. I’m a SPED teacher working with an especially vulnerable population. This angers me immensely.

Some of the most monstrous people in society seek out positions where they have authority over and/or access to vulnerable people to victimize. It also allows them to project a public image of themselves as upstanding members of the community. Teachers, doctors, nurses, staff in old folks homes, daycare workers, social workers, foster parents, police officers, etc... positions where there's a high standard of care, positions that also attract some of the most genuinely compassionate people.
How can any mother go along with that. There’s no way she was ever a genuinely good mum, that evil must of always been there. Nobody in this world could ever convince me to hurt my children
Had the mother been part of it, there would not have been this massive amount of gaslighting, storytelling and fabrication towards her. The strange thing is, how the sister is a social worker, and poses as some sort of "expert" via e-mail etc. introduces an adult women as a vulnarable abused girl to the family, the lengths they go to,... formerly the love and attention was directed to the sons, and they had been triving... For real and I watch true crime almost everyday ,this tops the crazy scale and then some ,how this sister did what she did to her own sister and nephews is the most evil part of this story . Barbara s family ,cult ,r terrifying but every cult is terrifying in many ways ,but this one is really sick and twisted .I hope those little boys r alright and grew up with loving caring people but why would that family not be locked in prison for life , especially the father ,makes U wonder if the courts r in the cult r in with the father somehow . The people that adopted Natalia r as evil and horrible people ,they should be in prison for what they did to that child ,Everytime I hear Micheal talk about that little girl and her period and hair on her privates ,just gross and vile ,that lied and I'd and lied and they even messed up their biological sons too ,sick and horrible people .
Given proper circumstances you get normal people doing the most horrible things. The doctor used the foot in the door approach small tasks growing in severity. Watch The Push for an illustrated exampme of this. @45johngalt
I'm from Czechia and we all couldn't believe what was happening and how deeply disturbing this story ran. The neighbor saved the boys. Anna was creepy as hell.
My dědeček was born in Czechoslovakia in 1927. I’ve never to Czechia or Slovakia. Both sides of my family have been in Canada since 1950s on moms side and 1809 on my fathers side.
This is beyond sick. Every one involved in hurting these boys should have recieved life and prison justice. I am truly glad the boys are alright. And kudos to the neighbors for questioning and getting the police involved. He could have brushed it off, but he followed his gut and saved these boys lives.
Thank goodness for the dad, who set-up that baby monitor. Can you imagine the sufferings those 2 boys would have gone through if poor dad found the correct frequency fast? And it is such a blessing to know that the 2 boys grew up well!
This story absolutely blew my mind. If I were those boys I don’t think I’d ever be able to forgive my mother. Bless them. They’re truly amazing young men.
Grudges are poison to one's own soul. Hand it over to God, He indeed will judge. "Revenge is mine sayeth the Lord, and I will repay."words of Jesus Christ, in the scriptures. Nobody can escape the justice of Almighty God. Nobody. Having said that, I do find it mind-blowing that these boys would be permitted to move back home with the bio mom, after all they had suffered. No way.
Forgive yes, and move on with your lifes. However moving back in with the biological mother, is on another level, and cannot be healthy in this family.
@@heidimisfeldt5685 all great points. I do think it wasn’t a healthy choice to move back in with her. But, absolutely healthy to forgive for their own sakes.
@heidimisfeldt5685 forgiveness is difficult when it's difficult to forget the trauma. I was 11 when my r*ist got 199 years. My youngest was 13 when he got parole. I was VERY tempted to get justice myself, but I'm grateful God took him out before I could. Texas was wrong for that, not me.

I’m so glad that you set the record straight at the end about Natalia Grace. Her adoptive parents are severely demented and should’ve gotten prison time for their treatment of that girl. If people want to watch another really twisted true story, be sure to watch BOTH seasons of The Curious Case of Natalia Grace. Anyhow, thanks for the telling of this bizarre and sad story. Those poor boys!!
It’s sad because it seem to me that the parents adopted that little girl because they had marital problems and thought that adopting would save their marriage once their marriage fell apart neither one of them wanted to take her with them so they came up with a crazy story. It happens a lot more often than people think. People foster and adopt children for all the wrong reasons. Some even do it because they like the attention and praise they get from people around them. Everyone around them looks up to them like they are a hero. You got to be a special type of evil to go along with adopting a child ESPECIALLY a child from overseas where there is so much paperwork, tests, qualifications, time and money that you have to put in in order for you to even be able to qualify to adopt children just for you to abandoned them or mistreat them. And all for what? That’s literally a work of a straight up narcissist right there.
Years ago, when our next door neighbor stopped over before she went to work for a night shift at our local hospital. Our baby monitor picked up her husband's phone call to his girlfriend, saying his wife left for work so to come over. Shocked, she pretended to drive away, and minutes later the mistress pulled in. That baby monitor caused their divorce.
It’s absolutely wild to say that Clara was just stupid or easily manipulated. That would be true if she just took this psycho in but the second she started systematically abusing her children it became clear she was just as evil as everyone else in this story.
Ya I was looking for more comments like this? It's crazy to say "oh well she WAS a good mom" no. If you are in any way capable of doing these kinds of things to your own child, with such an outlandish reason as well, you are NOT and never WERE a good parent. This wasn't an oopsie.

"with nothing but a screwdriver and pure rage". God this quote brings back memories. When my wife and I were expecting and were 3 weeks out and we were running around getting ready for the baby. The crib was still in a box and I told myself "we have 3 weeks till the baby is due and a crib is basically a box, it'll take me an hour tops to assemble it". The very next day my wife's blood pressure was dangerously elevated and the OB wanted to induce tomorrow. 3 hours later, covered in sweat and full of anger the crib was completed.
When I had my first son, I put the crib together in the living room. Watched some tv and it wasn’t that bad. Then it wouldn’t fit through his bedroom door. So I had to take it apart again lol

So true. He spends the right amount of time on the facts and emphasises where necessary. When the Murdaugh case was being shown on TH-cam, I remembered that Mike had covered it up to a certain point and was able to go back and really understand it because of his story-telling. I was then able to follow the court hearings - so unbelievable - but interesting! Looking forward to the pending up-date on that one!
Ditto.. Was here to say the same thing. Another story well done , Mike. It's so horrifically disgusting how a parent can be so ignorant, naive and abusive, because of what some made up doctor was telling her to do, that she didn't even know, is hard to wrap my mind around. To betray your children in such a sad and hurtful way, for some "girl" they didn't even know, makes ya wonder if that mother was operating with a full deck. The excuse about a doctor instructing her to beat her own boys is so disgusting. As a parent you are supposed to protect your children. Truly monsters.
@@cdes1776you would be surprised what people will do when told by people in positions of authority. There have been actual studies done to see how far people will go and they had people give (what they thought) was a near lethal/ lethal shock to people. And most people did it.

I’m not religious but surely the baby monitor exposing this horrific abuse and these evil people is a miracle. Both the fact that this happened and that it was discovered are just insane! Also, great shirt Mike, love ya!
Not a miracle, just technology, and cheap tech at that. "Awareness bias" is also a thing. You know about this because that new dad happened to buy a cheap monitor and happened to see that video and happened to realise something was very wrong. A lot of little things had to come together to start the ball rolling. It's not a miracle, it's just chance, and there are probably a hundred other cases that were never discovered because there was no new dad buying a cheap monitor and accidentally seeing that. There are serial killers out there right now that we don't even know exist yet, it won't be a "miracle" when something happens to make us aware of them.
It’s very common for baby monitors to glitz in strange ways like this. Of course a parent who just got a baby monitor is going to be watching and listening to it all the time. Simply technology, that’s all 🤷♀️
It's just a lucky coincidence. If you are not religious why would you think this was a supernatural event? Nothing magical happened. Everything in this case has an obvious natural explanation. Are you sure you are not actually a Christian?
While the mother may have been duped this whole time, I can't fathom any decent person believing that the way to heal one abused child is to abuse other children. That break in the simplest of logic just doesn't fly with me.
Your explanation of the "mother" being so easily manipulated into doing awful things brought to mind this quote: "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." ~Voltaire Boy, does THAT ever fit the situation!
It definitely fits this video...I'm convinced Clara's sister knew she was slow, and just flat out manipulated her into all of this crap!!! The reason I say this and it's not that I condone her actions (they were atrocious), but her sons forgave her and moved back in with her!!! Her sister is the biggest abuser in this video!!!
The 'mother' is not even human. No excuse for what she did. None whatsoever. You don't go from being a 'good' or 'great' mom to a demon overnight because someone suggested it's a good idea, UNLESS you are garbage.
I read this comment before I got to this part in the video. When I finally got there I spat out my drink, and after a bit of coughing laughed at how spot on that was 😂
As a slavic person i need to thank you for putting effort into learning how to pronounce the names. People usually don't try really hard, misspelling it or ignoring like in Marie Skłodowska Curie case. ❤
How you were able to explain this horrible mess, is unbelievable. And these kind of sick people exist everywhere and everyday we will never find out about abusing children and adults night and day. I'm so glad I was raised by a loving family who brought out the best in me.
This happened where I live and they sadly put her in an apartment a few blocks away from my office when she was like 9 and disabled and moved to Canada. She had no way of getting food and was found wondering around asking for food when the new family found her and she moved in with them and that’s how it became public knowledge.
Who do I feel sorry for? The two abused babies, the guy who discovered them on the monitor, and all the investigators. Who do I feel the least sorry for? Their Mom!!! No one, and I mean NO ONE, could have ever made me abuse my own children!!! Even animals protect their children!!!!!! 😡😡😡
This happened in 2007 so the technology was nowhere near as advanced as it is today. Quite a few years before they even had RING doorbell cameras or cloud storage? I'm still not really sure how this baby monitor worked and why they were able to pick up an image from their neighbour.🤔
I can't even begin to imagine how you would have felt if you were the person that picked up the baby monitor and heard what was happening in that house
So many people would have been too busy and preoccupied to review and record the footage, and call the police. The man trusted his gut and took steps to help. Many awful things happen when people dismiss and stay silent.
She's definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed. I find it insane for her to go along with everything, especially the one with her having to give that freak a full body "massage" every day, and beating her own sons- totally bizarre!!
People are conditioned to believe and do what people in positions of authority say. Experiments have shown perfectly normal people will literally torture people if told to by someone in authority.,

Czech laws are pretty lenient and Barbara's story is pretty complicated. She is mentally sick and severely abused by her own family, she even developed multiple different personalities in prison and she wasn't just pretending to be a child, her mind was childlike. She had to be taught how to be an adult woman and she's still in care of psychiatrists. Although she's out of prison, she's not completely free.
@@-notmycat Thanks for the additional information. I see, she is very troubled. I hope she is getting quality care even though I think her sentence was too short. I just have a particular dislike for pathological liars, I think they are some of the most dangerous people in the world. But I guess we have her father to blame for creating one with his abuse of her!
Well, this is not U.S., 5 years is a pretty severe punishment in this area (you generally get 10 and are out after serving a half if you behave). Crime is essentially one tenth and the most severe punishment is 20 years (life sentence requires an exception). Also, mother's rehabilitation has been successful once separated from the manipulators, I think that played a role. Btw the boys are doing impressively well after what have they been through, so there's at least that.
A grown adult abusing kids is completely responsible for their own actions and I don’t ever believe it can be blamed on manipulation. I don’t even have kids and NO ONE ON EARTH can ever manipulate or trick me into abusing a child, ever. The fact that this woman is using the “I was tricked into violently abusing my children” excuse is disgusting. The fact that any of y’all believe her is mind boggling.
Nope! I’m with you on this. I scoffed, loudly, when Mikey talked about how “mom” was easily manipulated. What a load bull💩! I have 5 children and watch a lot of true crime that leaves me angry but also bewildered as to HOW TF a mother could do such horrific things to her own children, or any children for that matter. Or when they allow a new bf to abuse their kids, just shit like that, I just don’t understand how a woman can be a good mother and BAM! do such vile things like abuse or neglect them? It doesn’t make sense, were they pretending all along? How can a mother look at her beautiful babies, that she brought into this world and loved and fed and cared for, turn around and hit them or hurt them? I can’t figure it out, I turn and look at my kids all wandering around the house each doing their thing and my heart swells with love, I just couldn’t. NOT EVER! Sorry I rambled on a bit, I just kind of wrote out my thoughts as they came, again, confused and angry at this woman. I have to go hug my kids now 😢
That's what I was thinking the whole time; I don't think I know a single parent who would so drastically shift their parenting style because a single doctor says so, and even if Clara claims she was manipulated into hitting them the plain extremes that she was pushed too were just plain cruel. She had to have figured at some point that this was wrong.

For those of you who understand Norwegian, there is a great podcast about "Adam" on NRK. The boys who were in contact with "Adam" in school in Norway, struggled with feelings of being violated by her. She kept asking questions who were very personal reg girls/sex. The abuse was even worse than that. I found the story online about the Mauerova Cult. That 13 year old is actually 33 year old. And she is as evil as can be. She should have gotten 25 to life alongside Katerina who played the doctor in the texts sent to Klara.
It’s amazing that the dad in this story actually reported what he saw on the nanny cam. So many times ppl just brush things off and don’t report. I believe it was divine intervention or unbelievably good luck that the dad happened upon that footage.

She probably didn't know exactly what was going to be done in that cabin in the woods. Okay, not the best idea to leave 2 psychopaths alone, but it would have protected her children.
Hard to understand, when it is so easy for kids to love you as a parent, to mess up this chance to love love them back and support them as much as you can, but then choose to F up so badly. I understand not every one has the stuff to do it perfect, but this is messed up to the max. Love
Thank God for that Dad and going with his gut. And for everyone in the comments who say that no one would ignore this, many people do and have. It's called the bystander effect where people are either apathetic, scared to get involved, or don't want to be burdened with any responsibility. People ignore atrocities that they see and hear all of the time, and only say something after someone is already dead
When you watch a lot of true crime, it's hard to say that you've seen the worst thing you'll ever see because true crime is the gift that keeps on giving but THIS is always going to be the most bizarre, psychotic thing I've ever heard.
Three stories in one, has got to be a record. None of them should have been released from prison. That's far too many twisted people for a community to deal with.
There's no way these boys are 💯 % OK. Maybe on the surface. Deep inside there are wounds, memories, and pain. The absence of the care, love and protection children are entitled to receive. It changes a person right down to their DNA.
As someone from Czech Republic it's kind of strange watching you go through a case from my country. I was about 15 y.o. when this all was happening, didn't really pay much attention to news, but I remember still hearing about "Anička" for months after the biggest interest died down. It's such a bizzare case seeing it now more than 15 years later, especially as I became a psychologist working with children and having some insight into system that protects them. I remember usually not hearing much about the victims, when this is mentioned. Thanks for covering that and I'm glad to hear they are as okay as possible in a case such as this. Well, we don't have much of cases like these, but when we do, they are scary. Ngl I kind of hope to see you cover more of them now
@@liscatcat8756 You mean the prison sentences? I think they are very low for most kinds of violent crimes in general. I kind of remember from school, there is a logic behind it which would take a longer time to explain, but I totally agree they should be more severe. I think the logic usually goes more in a way of "protect the children to prevent the crimes on them" so the system develops more to help in that way and sentences become a second thought.

Being abusive is why a lot of social workers decide that they want to be social workers or CPS workers. So that they can more easily be abusive without being questioned.
She started out as a loving mother I don't understand how she let herself be brainwashed enough to do that to her own kids. I don't understand what changes you suddenly from a loving mother to an abusive one. And following someone's words blindly it's just too bizarre. I think she was lying.
Remember that her own sister was one of the major players in the deceit. She knew what buttons to push and when to switch things up; wouldn't be surprised if she was the golden child and the younger sister had always had to do as she said so she was basically raised to be her sister's servant and folow her every command.
read the book a child called IT. Its crazy how that happens. a loving involved nurturing mom turns randomly to an absolute monster towards one or more of her own children.
Brainwashing is a thing. Rotten mango covered a case of a guy creating a sex cult amongst highly educated teenagers in America. One of them, a psychology major at Harvard, reverted to a child like state. All of them stuck around for, I wanna say 10 years, it was something like that. All of them brainwashed into bizarre and abusive behaviour. And these were super intelligent people. It’s a wild story.
As soon as I saw that pic of “Anna” in that stupid purple hat, I said 1) No way she’s a day under 20 and 2) Anyone who would wear that hat is up to no good.

When you really think about this case, it’s disgusting and scary. A grown woman could be convinced to engage in S.A. Of a woman she thought was a girl. The way she completely abuse her sons from just suggestions from a Dr.
That's actually not surprising. In the late 1940s psychologists ran experiments to see what people would do when "just following orders". They found majority of people would do horrible/ lethal things to people if told to do them by someone with a position of authority. Turns out the average person is strongly conditioned to do what authority figures say..
@@eh1702 well considering the results of that and the Standford prison experiment I don't have much faith that people will always make the right decisions.
@@markcarpenter6020 What I was just telling you is that “the results of that” ARE DISQUALIFIED. Because it turns out from the notes of the Milgram experiments made at the time, that they were not conducted rigorously. They did not come up to standard. The subjects actually knew a lot more about what was going on than the write-up admitted. Many simply assumed it was fake and there was no real electric shock because - they correctly presumed - experimental ethics would not permit it; and confirmed it to themselves by detecting the acted recording as a recorded act. Stanford University’s prison experiment is also not as conclusive as it appears. It shows the culture of a certain class of American youth enculturated in an era of militaristic machismo (little boys in suburban 1950s USA) and let loose in a culture that was the inverse (1960s college counterculture). Almost every Stanford volunteer was a young American male in a culture where frat-hazing was a norm, for whom interpersonal competitiveness / social dominance (rather than co-operation) was at this point all-encompassing, and who were already living in an all-male dorm environment, all subject to college hierarchies, and all affluent enough to volunteer long unpaid or low-paid hours over many days for an experiment. Many had been educated in very hierarchical private and some in all-male residential high school environments. Does what happened reflect some norm that crosses age, class and culture? That is an important question. This is hardly a cross-section of global humanity. As it happens I share your less than sunny view of how people behave, but I think it is very tightly bound to how specific cultures intersect with some personality types - and not others.

A great reason to be supportive of those who choose childfree. If all children were desired and loved by their parents, these stories would be almost unheard-of.

Is that what that movie is based on!? I didn’t know that. I thought it was just a horror movie.
@@TheQueenOfShebaI mean Mike mentions it in the episode itself
Wasn't orphan based off of the girl who's parents accused her of being an adult??? And then abandoned her and were sued over it and they claimed she was a con artist and she was really just a young girl??

@@kassassin_brahgawk No. Did you not finish the video? Mike stated that family probably got the heebie-jeebies due to watching that movie. Movie came out about ten years before what you're referring to came to light/parents were charged.
This might be the craziest story you’ve shared yet, Mike! I am livid that Barbara only got 5 years, she is a legitimate psychopath and her father needs to be investigated too! Thank you for sharing the positive update about the boys at the end, we needed that to cushion the rest of the tale lol. And I hope that new father who reported the baby monitor knows he’s a hero. Props to him and the cops for sniffing that all the way out. Keep it up!!
Czech laws are pretty lenient and Barbara's story is pretty complicated. She is mentally
sick and severely abused by her own family, she even developed multiple different personalities in prison and she wasn't just pretending to be a child, her mind was childlike.
She had to be taught how to be an adult woman and she's still in care of psychiatrists. Although she's out of prison, she's not completely free.
@@-notmycat Thanks for the additional information. I see, she is very troubled. I hope she is getting quality care even though I think her sentence was too short. I've unfortunately heard worse. Be careful looking, I found a story that actually broke me. I am not being dramatic either. This stuff is horrible.
It is horrible but the Florida, USA case against Madeline Soto is the worst I’ve seen.
So wait, Barbara only got 5 years and then the boys were given back to the mother?!? That is insane.. Those poor kids
Oh so there is coming back from cannibalism

Not a surprise though I mean America does that shit to. So many times abusers either get their kids back or never lose them in the first place.
😢you're 100% right

The boys who were in contact with "Adam" in school in Norway, struggled with feelings of being violated by her. She kept asking questions who were very personal reg girls/sex. I can’t imagine hurting a child. It makes me so angry to see that someone can hurt a poor child like this. I’m so glad that these children are okay

I'd say that's what's going on in the USA. They sure aren't trying to stop child abuse. Horrific crimes have been committed.

Such a load of bs. If it was a man no one would ever dare say he ever loved those kids.

@@markcarpenter6020 Sigh. The Milgram experiments you’re citing turn out to not be quite what they were touted as.
@markcarpenter6020 some authority figures are evil. It was probably done progressively. To desensitise. Small increments. It happens.
