    Are you due a check up, querido aluno? Let me know if you'll be trying this vocab!

      I guess this time I'll be on the other side. This vocabulary will be said TO ME instead of me saying it 😁

    This was very helpful as I go to my dentist in Portugal very often. Now I could book my appointment myself.

    This is great! As a dental assistant in USA that works in a large portugués speaking community this helps me a lot! I hope you make more video like this one . Obrigada!!!

    In Brazil you would use the same word for floss or g string: "fio dental". I personally never heard "fio dentário".

    Hi Liz!! This is Jairo, the person who said all the positive comments about you and your successful story. This is a coincidence that you went to the dentist because my mom just had her dentist appointment 😬🙂🙂 here in México🇲🇽🇲🇽. Greetings from México and I hope one day I would be able to travel to Portugal 🇵🇹🇵🇹 and meet you as my generous portuguese professor 🙂🙂🙂. God bless you 🙏

      Hi Liz!! This is Jairo again 🙂🙂. I don't want to bother you but I forgot to ask you, whenever I need help with a European Portuguese concept, is it okay with you if I communicate with you through Instagram? Or what is the best way to contact you? Thanks

      You are very welcome to ask questions here in the comments section ! Thank you for all your support, Jairo! I went to Mexico back in 2008 and I loved it

    Obrigado, obrigado, obrigado! BTW I wanted to tell you how during your video about the different pronunciations of the letter "S" your pronunciation of Lisboa reminded me of how the "L" is pronounced. Mine wasn't guttural enough while yours is perfect. Ironically, one of the hardest words for me to get just right is "Portugal." It's almost like "P't'gal" when they say it, and it's a toughie for me. LOL Thanks so much for this and the one on haircuts. (I nearly had the opportunity to visit in May when my dad was planning to rent a flat in Lisbon and spend a month there, but COVID-19 put paid to that idea, sadly). -PS I actually thought "fio dental" was correct, LOL. :-)

    • @TalktheStreets
      @TalktheStreets  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will get here soon! Portuguese has what we call a dark L, which means you need to pull your tongue back towards your throat to make it sound correct, look out for it!

    • @TalktheStreets

  • @AxeDharme

    The dental term for gums is indeed 'gingiva'. So 'gengiva' isn't too far off

    • @DCLayclerk
      @DCLayclerk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right, I just think about gingivitis and it's easy to remember. It's also similar in other Romance languages.
