I know it is confusing, but in Greece we measure plots by strema (pl. stremata) which is equivalent to 1000sq.m. (10m x 100m). So the torched area in the island of Hydra was 300 stremata (300000sq.m. which is 74 acres)
@@YachtReport you are correct that some news outlets mention 300 acres but I think they are irresponsibly equating the Greek strema to the internationally used acre. 5:49 "Neither I nor my guests _asked_ the crew of the yacht or any other third parties to take any actions that _could_ lead to a fire" - Abulgazin (group leader). What a legalese way of saying "I can't say, flat-out "No, we did not start the fire" because that would be factually incorrect", so you have to do the Bill Clinton thing of elongating answers, obfuscating truths and leaving open to interpretation what "actions" that "lead to a fire" really means (and this will differ from person to person, i.e. setting off fireworks on a sandy, open beach may not lead to fire in most reasonable peoples minds, but setting off fireworks on a beach right next to scrub and trees would). He's also only saying that the VIP guests didn't _ask_ anyone else (crew etc) to start a fire (or cause a fire to be started). That doesn't mean the VIP's didn't start the fire themselves, without crew help. It's hardly a rebuttal, indeed, it's subtly incriminating.
Excuse me, but how is the sighting of a person, likely Persefoni's crew, in turnout gear evidence of lying? It's evidence of intent to fight a fire, not of igniting one. Do you accuse all firemen of lying?
Greece is still not looking good for having made valid arrests. Finding "traces from expended pyrotechnic devices" many days after the event doesn't show that they are related to that event at all without being able to prove no one else was in that area in the intervening time. And, none of anything they said is a basis for arresting or charging the entire crew. At most, a small number of crew may have gone to shore with the guests, but the majority will still have been on the ship manning the bridge, monitoring the engines, in the galley, asleep or off duty in their quarters, etc., etc.
Is nice fireworks, yes? They were probably doing target practice with old flares than were out of date. Either this or the children of the clients caused a huge fire and rich parents are paying the captain off to take the rap. Captains of yachts like these do not mess around with crappy fireworks.
The Greek captain if indeed proven that his ship is responsible to start the fire will face the responsibility from that fire, the problem is that greek courts are very very slow and it can take a 3 years before there is a final court ruling.

Well, Someone is getting blamed for that fire. What are the responsibilities of a ships crew when their charter goes ashore?
