Still in the classification of "yachts I will only ever be on as crew", but I like everything about it. There is literally nothing I would change, and appreciate the fact that it can be reconfigured for each share owner. I think that's a great business model and I hope Meros is successful with it.

@@mrabrasive51 Ah, well, these grills are a lot like what they call gas barbeques that they sell for the garden. They sell these volcanic rocks which you can place under the electric element and you could also put smoking sawdust (that they have for big fish & meat smoking companies) around the rocks which will really make it like a charcoal BBQ. You can use it like a hot plate/grill or a BBQ.
@@mrabrasive51 If you look at the Meros brochure, on page 22 under Flybridge, for this yacht it specifically lists the BBQ as a "BBQ". Nick is using the term appropriately. I'll allow you to call it a grill if you want though LOL 🤣🤪

Well it certainly didn’t disappoint, £1.1 million a lot of money but when you compare it to some of the £300000-£400000 boat you show us for weekends cruising to this no comparison.
Out of all the boats you’ve shown us over the years I think this is the one I’d have. Nice jacuzzi, water sports catered for. The owners cabin having the mezzanine and en suite below a lovely touch.

Sorry to disappoint but the £1.1 Million gets you 6 weeks a year fractional ownership. The cost of the boat itself is closer to £10 Million
Actually it’s 7.1 million but yeah after everything it basically will be closer to 10 😢 either way still to much for me 😅 Fractional ownership seems a little bit better lol

Share ownership sounds like a good way to step into the larger size of boat. Cheers for that.
I much prefer sole ownership. However, co-ownership of a MY will save one millions on up front costs, hundreds of thousands in maintenance, insurances, bulk fuel, provisions and cost of crew. To say the list is endless is an understatement. I truly hope the crew is well paid for having to cater to several owners. Brilliant show Nick, have a wonderful week.

Thats what we wish to do! Getting people on the water is the aim but it's keeping them there thats what makes co-ownership so special. A sustainable option, with fixed costs allows many to finally consider this a lifestyle addition for them and their families or business!
Nice to see a Sunseeker on the channel again. Despite the attitudes of their suits, they still make a fine boat, and your tours always do them justice. Too bad Sunseeker doesn't feel the same way.

It's a yacht timeshare. The addition of the extra customizations and services you described make it very attractive to the practical-minded.

That is awesome ! Haven't been a big fan of Sun Seeker but WOW I'm in love ! I love the color scheme of (what I call) "rose oak" & dark wood. That is a perfect blend ! Nothing over powers the other. This is not Meros's idea. The whole business idea was copied from private aviation. Business jet owners have been using this scheme for a long time, shared ownership of the aircraft, and Meros just took it and applied it to yachts.
The customization changes are smart and well thought through. Meros shows that they know their product and truly add value. Thanks for the tour.

Always loved this boat because of the master bathroom. Did wonder about the walk at night (as I'm starting to get a bit older) and the day heads solves that issue, though it's still a fair old treck.
Front sitting area does look a bit squashed up though.

For some reason, and I don't think I could explain why, so many of these fancy big yachts having the day heads next to the owner's cabin always seemed weird to me. Here we finally get a good reason for it. Nice boat and an interesting owning option.
It's because that's where the hull widens out again. Usually there is a walkway on the outside preventing it. That's where the walkway ends and the day head is built into the hull there and sometimes the steps that go up to the bow.

I’m not sure how I feel about “sharing” a yacht. Bunch of other people enjoying “your” yacht and you can’t do modifications I’m sure without the others agreeing. Might as well just charter lol and you have 0 responsibilities. Have to say that owners cabin is awesome, probably my favorite you’ve shown so far! It’s like a loft almost. Great tour as always Nick.

You are right!! Sharing is not for everyone that is sure! All I can say is that it would be our pleasure to show you the beauty of sharing. As you said, a little like charter except they know who you are and it can feel a little more like home every time you return - for a fraction of the annual cost.

Only because the finance / depreciation / capital cost of £1.1 million has been paid up-front. The running cost, maintenance, insurance, crew and other standing or fixed costs, all paid for in the annual fee, may be a fraction of the total cost of a charter, but that is only because the finance / depreciation / capital costs are allocated more sensibly on a pro rata basis by normal charterers. All consumables (fuel, food, beverages, berthing fees etc.) are still payable separately no matter what, so the total of costs (capital, fixed and variable) remains the same. Splitting a bill into three components instead of two doesn't make anything cheaper to buy. Claims like yours are misleading, and deliberately so.
Why not share with everyone the cost Meros is offering this 2 year old Sunseeker 95 for charter, so we can all make an informed decision about relative costs (your website clearly states you reserve the right to charter these boats while waiting to completely sell the associated time-shares) ?

Am I correct in assuming that since starting this scheme in June 2021, Meros has not yet completely sold a single yacht's complete allocation of time-shares, and in fact have only two (partially sold) yachts in the entire 'fleet' ?

You also explain many points of the structure correctly but not precisely, which can make your comments seem very logical or true but in fact you are slightly misinformed. We don't claim to be better value than a single charter. If you plan on chartering more than twice/3 x a year this is when co-ownership becomes an option for you or you want to start to understand the gravity of ownership its a good place to start.
You have the investment yes at the beginning, just like you would if you wanted to purchase a yacht yourself. The lifecycle of Meros for each owner is 3 years - so im unsure where you get some of your figures or ideas from and also where you the confusion on this investment stems from. As you are very active I would absolutely love to have a conversation with you as your knowledge I believe could be something that when spreading the right information could be an incredible asset to Meros and guidance for those interested in alternative ownership.
Charter rate for this vessel is 95,000 EUR ++
The investment is treated rather like a deposit in the Meros system. This is not lost or at risk.
The annuals are also fixed. So we've worked hard with sunseeker and suppliers to make sure that regardless of what happens to the yacht clients ar not responsible for a penny more than their fixed annuals.
Only additional costs you have as you stated are your personal consumables - food, drink and fuel. This is expected on any charter, or even in sole ownership something that is not budgeted as everyones taste varies.
So your investment has a fixed exit loss (8%), ability to upgrade or transfer.

Our 86 yacht was functioning well in the flexshare for 3 years with owners and now she has transitioned to the quarter share (which is a straight division of the asset - private ownership) Clients are given the opportunity to transfer their deposit form the Flexshare over to purchase the share in the same yacht and be a direct owner as it moves or they can re-invest with the new entering yacht and continue in the commercial structure under Flexshare.
So this yacht has moved this year April, 2 x owners followed and we have secured another with just 1 quarter left available on her. Our newest yacht has now 5/8 shares remaining and only got handed over fully from the factory in April.
It's worth noting that Meros place all the capital upfront. We purchase the yachts before offering the co-ownership. As we dislike what happens to so many in this world of co-ownership. Where you are having to wait a year or more for everyone to be aligned before purchasing and if someone drops out then you are back to square one. Instead we purchase the yacht, get her ready and slowly bring in the owners. Our growth will be sustainable the same as our owners, ownership. Its about doing the right thing, the right way for the right reasons.

Your website never mentioned the 3-yearly "top-ups" of each "investment" to buy a new boat. It never gave any figure for annual management fees. I had to ask for the general charter fee you are charging because, again, the website never mentioned it.
I do apologise for saying the boat was 2 years old and not new this year - I was confused between the two boats you claim were in the fleet, although only one is currently in the scheme, contrary to the impression given on your website.

I saw that this model sells for 6 MEuro typically when 2 years old. So its quite expensive with £1.1 Million just to get 6 weeks a year (basically 11.5% of the boat).

Makes alot of sense to have fractional ownership but then you could just go ahead and buy a galeon 640 fly for 2 mil and charter it out when your not using it...from a liability to an asset with an income stream and attractive ROI...

Absolutely stunning, sometimes I find some of the boats, specially recently seem like they are completely over priced, all of which I might add well out of my budget! But this one I think is right on the money, and anyone in a position to purchase this would seemingly be getting a hell of a lot of for the money, she looks like a boat twice her value!

A smashing yacht but I didn't see a laundry and I would have thought with nine guests that would be a pretty important feature.
Hello Michael! Good eye! Laundry facilities are there as you step in to the crew area, the shutter was down but there is a stacked washer and dryer. As you said though with a full yacht the laundry is normally used for smaller garments and the main laundry is almost done on land from incredible services we work with across the med.
Great video, I used to love sunseeker but it seemed for a long time they had stagnated, this feels like they’re back on top of their game.

the problem with time sharing is everyone want to reserve the same dates, and you end up with a ton of black out days.
As someone who was once gifted a timeshare, I do not like them. You're essentially renting, but if you don't want to rent any more, you don't just stop, you have to _sell back_ your timeshare to the company you're renting from. And of course, there wasn't a "rent to own" option, either.
The yacht itself is nice and I do like the hot tub location as well.
Sounds more like a con than a gift! You would need to look at the Mero website to see how very different this is.
Hey Kirby! Im happy to announce that this is not the case with Meros 🎉. You have 2 years fixed entry and exit. Up to 2 years, you can exit the concept with your initial investment back minus 8%. No hidden or spontaneous depreciation, no stress over the exit.
@@merosyachtsharing In other words, you are offering package deals of 12 weeks of chartering... and if that customer walks away after two years, the vessel is "awaiting co-owners" again and therefore available for general charter to anybody (that's assuming all the shares were ever sold and the boat was ever OFF the general charter market - unlikely given the total sales to date of less than two boats).
If I were one of the other time-share owners of that boat, I would be pretty hacked off knowing that far from being a fractional owner, I was merely another sucker who paid up-front for a fixed number of weeks in just another general charter boat, with the added insult of being liable for the additional wear and tear costs of the boat being on general charter. Not to mention being restricted to locations favourable to short-term general charter even though I am paying for 6 weeks per annum and presumably might want to cruise further afield in that extended time.
Seems like people in your scheme are paying a premium for an exclusive product but actually receiving something in many ways worse than even a normal charter. Instead of best of both worlds, it's actually the worst of both worlds.
@@RandomGuyRandomNumber Meros has 2 styles of ownership and we offer our clients the choice. Like you, some don't like to charter their yacht so there is the private structure. Where this isn't capable of chartering. Secondly and considered more progressive - is the Meros Flex share. This is a commercially structured ownership that is designed to release all responsibilty and offer usage for a fixed fee annually. This not only allows you to make that initial purchase through your company which is a big positive for many individuals or self employed. but it's allows them if they are busy to sell or trade their weeks. Firstly to each other and then later to the charter market. Directly offsetting their fixed annuals.
Meros also is a lot more than the division of an asset - we work to provide access to the dream that many owners imagine when thinking of yacht ownership. You seem to be well acquainted with the boating world so i'm sure you will understand that actually the reality that many are sold isn't always all or the true experience. We create relationship with ports, restaurants beach clubs, golf clubs etc using the momentum and power of the collective to benefit each individual. Most recently you will see that we hosted aboard a Meros Flexshare yacht - The Monaco Grand Prix. Paid for by the company and offered as a platform for all owners - this week was communal and all owners attended. They got to meet each other watch the race and even meet an F1 driver. We want to make this more about the experience rather than just the logic.
I would be more than happy to discuss this with you in a phone call - allowing you to voice all and every concern. This would save us both time and effort attempting to correct misinformation but also allow you to perhaps appeal and form your opinion on all of the information and not just some.

What did they do?
They won’t allow Nick to review their yachts. I don’t know why but they won’t. This is a shame because Nick is so good and so well known, it seems like they’re cutting their nose to spite their face.

Meh if they've black-balled Nick then it's their loss as I suspect very few aspiring European boat owners are not aware of Aquaholic and indeed use Nick's channel as a point of reference and guide to future purchases. If I was the Marketing Director at Sunseeker I'd be speaking very nicely to Nick as a review on this channel probably reaches more motivated buyers and does more for brand awareness than any expensive online marketing campaign would.
Once you hit a million subs they will be back… and then drop them flat on their face….. never do a sunseeker review…. and if you do, make them bleed…. thats how you get back at them!…

To be clear- the cost mentioned as 1.1 million pound is supposed to be it's share price! It costs around anywhere near 8 million per unit.
lovely review videos --- used to sail when younger // have you considered (might have already done) maybe mini series --- steps when considering buying a boat -- broker or private or retailer /// guess first budget range --- experience level ---- maybe for beginners // not about to buy one restoring an old farm barn france ---- but who knows when finished ... // you might already have covered this .... seems more complex than buying a house even a car .... thinking youve got many interested in boating ... tips what to look out for what to avoid or buy new pitfalls etc .... kind regards ta.
First Sunseeker I would purchase. Top deck would have to be enclosed and a much needed laundry room. Good idea on the time share. One thing I am always curious about these super yachts, is the citadel. Do they exist?

😅 it's no Gulf Craft Majesty 175 but hey it's a Sunseeker what's not to like 🤗👌🖖 I had written a longer review on the boat and the shared ownership but TH-cam wouldn't allow me to upload it until I logged in to my profile ,never come across this before and it doesn't give you an option to do what they're asking without losing what you've written, what I done to get this uploaded is beyond me I have no clue, hey ho🤔
