No adult, grown man, or woman, should have to live week to week like that! They made a grown man cry because he was finally being treated RIGHT. THAT'S what is wrong with society, and corporations!!! Treat good workers with the pay, security, and respect that they deserve!

Keyword is Corporations there. I have been inspired by the love and care small businesses give to their employees, I have worked for both small business and corporate, there is heart in family owned.

Good luck finding a big corporation that cares about the little people or gives a livable wage. Keep hearing there is a worker shortage and companies are giving great pay, yet all I see are basic $10-$13 wages. That’s not great, that’s insulting

I disagree. There are many selfish and irresponsible people who don't deserve stability. Most people get what they deserve in life. We aren't victims.

That’s what you get with zero hour contracts. It’s dehumanising and leaves people struggling to know what’s going to happen day to day, you can’t get a mortgage or rent anywhere without a guarantor. It’s a disgrace

There are way too many companies that operate the same way. I was recently doing agency work and the company decided to get rid of all agency staff as it was going quiet. Some (but not enough) do offer temp to perm jobs starting with agency to see if you are up to the job and also gives you a chance to see if you like the job, if you dont then by the same token as they can get rid of you, you can walk out

It's my guess he wanted to. But they have a contract with the agency. And they would have to buy him out which could be costly and cause problems with the agency.

Likely the agency has a contract with the company and unfortunately the way those contracts are written would likely prevent that. If they could I'm sure they would buy every agency worker out.

I'm in the same boat has this guy. I'm 59 years young next week. After 7 months unemployed I finely start a new job. It's agency work for 2 months. But I take what I can get. People think that at this age you are done! Hell no! We have 60 years behind us and sex is still great! I remember in the 80's when they started hiring only young people has it was not only cheaper, but they wanted the young, fresh look for the company. That all ended in the 90's has they didn't have any work experience behind them. They were mostly yuppies in cocktail bars back then. The main problem with agency work is that if an employer likes and wants to hire you full-time. They have to buy your contract out from the agency. And not many want to do that. It's expense!

"We are going to sort it". Notice the boss didn't say anything like " we are going to employ you directly and put you on our staff roll". Why? Because employers who use agency staff do not have to make any pension or N.I. contributions.

I wonder if he’s still there. I assume this was filmed some time ago. I was a temp worker and busted my butt to finally get hired on. So happy to have job security, benefits, better pay. Only for 3 months later for the company to lay off roughly a 1/3 of its staff, and since I was the last hired on I was the first to go. Job security is a myth these days.

Sometimes the top gets too many layers better themselves and the people at the other end to see the impact of what outsourcing labour does and the human impact it creates.
I truly thought he would be hired outright but the work contract and vacation are a good start. Good luck to him.
More need to get out of the office or board room and see the people that do the work. And maybe this style is best for honest answers versus middle managers running around telling people, "Oh the boss is coming."

( Diane). This type of treatment of Employees is Unacceptable!!!! It’s So SAD cuz I was brought up Anti- union. ( grew up in mud 50’s-70’s) …But
Most of the companies gave us benefits as unions wanted but companies didn’t have to deal with the Unions!!! 🤔🤔. As an employee of local hospital I got : hourly wage/ time and 1/2 for overtime (40 hours/wk) Paid time off, holiday time (RN)
Long term time off ( for like pregnancy/ baby, operation) , Retirement Benefits. Then things started to change! By mid 2000’s companies found it was cheaper to hire people “ part time”
And THAT way they didn’t have to pay ANY Benefits!!! Since then Billionaires have multiplied and people who work full time are getting less ( with All things considered) And This is the “ Terrible Things-“ Bernie Sanders has pushed for!!!
They try to insult him by calling him a Socialist. But the political agenda that the Republicans are pushing are Authoritarian. Look it Up!!!! Please!!🙏
Do You want a leader who thinks he can TELL you How to Think, How to support your Family, how you Should BELIEVE??( Christian only).
Please help us Save our Country??🙏🙏

It might have more to do with the pension/retirement system over there than the healthcare benefits. Either way, making the guy wonder if he can eat next week every week is not right. Cheers.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝘅𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆?
We can overcome stress and anxiety by developing more and more positive connection, friendship and closeness to each other. Otherwise, these and other negative sensations will increasingly disturb us.
If we create small societies in which we develop connections of mutual consideration and support, then we can get rid of fears, illnesses, insomnia and absolutely everything that imposes the stress and anxiety of life upon us.
The more we experience negative sensations like stress and anxiety, the closer we come to understand the need for friendship, cooperation, mutual support and care. Likewise, we will reach the understanding of the need to create societies that will emphasize such values. Otherwise, we will continue developing by accumulating more and more negative sensations over a very long period of time until we eventually wake up to the need for the aforementioned values.
