No adult, grown man, or woman, should have to live week to week like that! They made a grown man cry because he was finally being treated RIGHT. THAT'S what is wrong with society, and corporations!!! Treat good workers with the pay, security, and respect that they deserve!
Keyword is Corporations there. I have been inspired by the love and care small businesses give to their employees, I have worked for both small business and corporate, there is heart in family owned.
Good luck finding a big corporation that cares about the little people or gives a livable wage. Keep hearing there is a worker shortage and companies are giving great pay, yet all I see are basic $10-$13 wages. That’s not great, that’s insulting
I disagree. There are many selfish and irresponsible people who don't deserve stability. Most people get what they deserve in life. We aren't victims.
That’s what you get with zero hour contracts. It’s dehumanising and leaves people struggling to know what’s going to happen day to day, you can’t get a mortgage or rent anywhere without a guarantor. It’s a disgrace
There are way too many companies that operate the same way. I was recently doing agency work and the company decided to get rid of all agency staff as it was going quiet. Some (but not enough) do offer temp to perm jobs starting with agency to see if you are up to the job and also gives you a chance to see if you like the job, if you dont then by the same token as they can get rid of you, you can walk out
An honest man cries and made me cry. Its the right thing to do, to have job security. Well DONE
They should hire him directly, and not through the agency.
It's my guess he wanted to. But they have a contract with the agency. And they would have to buy him out which could be costly and cause problems with the agency.
@@BrettBothamusictough, pay the fee do everyone a favour. It's a complete cop out. Own your staff responsibly. If he takes too much holiday will they just replace him.. Probably
Likely the agency has a contract with the company and unfortunately the way those contracts are written would likely prevent that. If they could I'm sure they would buy every agency worker out.
Surprised that nobody has commented on how why he was crying. Sure, the job security is great. His words: its feeling like a human being, thats what that is. He now feels how we should all feel.
Yes and what the boss gave him was the basic minimum he deserves MUCH MORE
What is wild about this, is you run the damn company and you don't know about these situations? What does that say about you?
And this is why more bosses need to go undercover into there own workplaces.
If they really care, they will do this.
They only care about money, not people. If you died at work today, they would just roll your body out and put up a help wanted sign 😂.
It's pretty sad that a grown man will cry just because he knows he has work that should never happen
The best bosses 🎉on the year 2023. Keep the kindness forever thanks watching from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧. ❤
I'm in the same boat has this guy. I'm 59 years young next week. After 7 months unemployed I finely start a new job. It's agency work for 2 months. But I take what I can get. People think that at this age you are done! Hell no! We have 60 years behind us and sex is still great! I remember in the 80's when they started hiring only young people has it was not only cheaper, but they wanted the young, fresh look for the company. That all ended in the 90's has they didn't have any work experience behind them. They were mostly yuppies in cocktail bars back then. The main problem with agency work is that if an employer likes and wants to hire you full-time. They have to buy your contract out from the agency. And not many want to do that. It's expense!
I can’t believe that good people are still treated this way today.
I can.
So basically the guy responsible for treating the employees like shit for big gains, finally stopped and is now praised a hero.
You have zero compression how businesses work, much less big businesses.
@@linkmasterspitzActually not necessarily, the point being made is perfectly fair. He'll have received monthly headcount reports setting all that out.
There are a lot of deserving people
Out their that need appreciating.😎
"We are going to sort it". Notice the boss didn't say anything like " we are going to employ you directly and put you on our staff roll". Why? Because employers who use agency staff do not have to make any pension or N.I. contributions.
actually it is because they have to pay the agency a finders fee if under x amount of time as revealed to me by a shift manager during a job offer when they was getting rid of the agency
No human being should be subject ed to that kind of treatment. Kudos to that CEO for fixing something that was broken
The store I work in wouldn't run without myself and the other 3 there. Yet, we don't even know if we will have our jobs next month. All whilst the company itself turns over god knows how much a year.
You're replaceable, it's not that complicated.
I wonder if he’s still there. I assume this was filmed some time ago. I was a temp worker and busted my butt to finally get hired on. So happy to have job security, benefits, better pay. Only for 3 months later for the company to lay off roughly a 1/3 of its staff, and since I was the last hired on I was the first to go. Job security is a myth these days.
love seeing undercover boss in uk so have subbed and pressed bell hello from Scotland
The agency probably takes a 25% cut. Smarter to have dedicated employees. They will care and do better if you look after them
Wow - how 'generous'.
I know what youre saying.. I was hoping he'd say we're takin you on full time permanant staff ... .
No yer still agency but longer contract agency.
Crying because you were treated like a human being is a testament that humans are treated like garbage in the workforce.
Sometimes the top gets too many layers better themselves and the people at the other end to see the impact of what outsourcing labour does and the human impact it creates.
I truly thought he would be hired outright but the work contract and vacation are a good start. Good luck to him.
More need to get out of the office or board room and see the people that do the work. And maybe this style is best for honest answers versus middle managers running around telling people, "Oh the boss is coming."
Good night, Westley. Good work. I'll still definitely fire you next week
This comment is not liked enough!
That's it? Hire the man!!
Blessings 🇨🇦 🙌 😊.
Okay I’ll 0:37
Every job is not secure. No matter what they tell you
I have a relative in this situation but the company he works for are doing all they can to take more money from their workers. Any complaints & they get no work sent through.
Good result
( Diane). This type of treatment of Employees is Unacceptable!!!! It’s So SAD cuz I was brought up Anti- union. ( grew up in mud 50’s-70’s) …But
Most of the companies gave us benefits as unions wanted but companies didn’t have to deal with the Unions!!! 🤔🤔. As an employee of local hospital I got : hourly wage/ time and 1/2 for overtime (40 hours/wk) Paid time off, holiday time (RN)
Long term time off ( for like pregnancy/ baby, operation) , Retirement Benefits. Then things started to change! By mid 2000’s companies found it was cheaper to hire people “ part time”
And THAT way they didn’t have to pay ANY Benefits!!! Since then Billionaires have multiplied and people who work full time are getting less ( with All things considered) And This is the “ Terrible Things-“ Bernie Sanders has pushed for!!!
They try to insult him by calling him a Socialist. But the political agenda that the Republicans are pushing are Authoritarian. Look it Up!!!! Please!!🙏
Do You want a leader who thinks he can TELL you How to Think, How to support your Family, how you Should BELIEVE??( Christian only).
Please help us Save our Country??🙏🙏
Hire him!
I'm an old man (veteran). Haven't had a pay rise in 3 years. Get a 12 month contract every year. This is my last year, no contract next year because my employer wants to hire someone younger and cheaper. That'll be me done. On the scrap heap
They didn't even hire him full time
I don't understand why hiring agencies exists. Why can't companies hire people on their own? It's dumb. Only employees know the details about the job, not agencies. This is why half of ppl quit after a few days because they see that nothing is as the agency was promising.
How about hire him on a full time permanent contract and pay him decently? Not send him and his wife to Butlins smdh
So did he get full time employment or is he still temporary? I didn't get it lol.
I interpreted it as he is still a temporary worker, but will now have longer contracts. Three months at a clip instead of a week, for example. Better, but if they need a man full time, just hire a full time man already and stop playing agency games.
@HomeTown Medic okay thanks. Business wise I get why they don't want full time workers. They don't have to pay out benefits. Cheap ass boss lol.
@@atonybiz4608 I cant speak for every industry, and certainly not about UK business; but in the states with travel healthcare, we get benefits from day one on contract. It might have more to do with the pension/retirement system over there than the healthcare benefits. Either way, making the guy wonder if he can eat next week every week is not right. Cheers.
@@hometownmedic7355 would they not be paying more for temp agency workers that permanent contract worker?
Changing how they employ agency drivers doesnt give anyone job security. He could be out of work in six months. If they are that important to the company why are they agency staff in the first place?
Clueless about how America works, huh?
They’ll probably give him a bi-weekly contract after the show’s over….
I've worked for temp services all my life. From getting calls daily. To 40 plus hours expected to show up everyday and after 3 months your hired on. I'm assuming it will be a regular work week contract with a chance to get hired on. Those are the best.
He will get kicked once his contract ends
So what kind of contract did he get? 2 weeks? A month? 6 months? What are we applaudibg here? Hire him directly and stop being ridiculous!
Shouldn’t need to get to this position ….. it’s employers fault . Also employer saw how much he needed the guy so suits him to get him on board permanently …. If he was just a cleaner I bet the employer would have left him on agency .. no pension , no NI. , no holiday pay , no sick pay
Wow what a cheapskate … holiday in Britain !!
And saving the money he is overpaying on agency bills will cover permanent job

We can overcome stress and anxiety by developing more and more positive connection, friendship and closeness to each other. Otherwise, these and other negative sensations will increasingly disturb us.
If we create small societies in which we develop connections of mutual consideration and support, then we can get rid of fears, illnesses, insomnia and absolutely everything that imposes the stress and anxiety of life upon us.
The more we experience negative sensations like stress and anxiety, the closer we come to understand the need for friendship, cooperation, mutual support and care. Likewise, we will reach the understanding of the need to create societies that will emphasize such values. Otherwise, we will continue developing by accumulating more and more negative sensations over a very long period of time until we eventually wake up to the need for the aforementioned values.
