I live in the country so my Neighbour’s are much further away, but my dog visits them, my previous dog introduced me to both lots and we have become good friend’s. Emmy is living a great life and that body wagging is great. I think it’s important that your animal has other human friend’s that they love going to visit.
Love this! When growing up I had a dog named Spike. He will always be my favorite dog. He met the neighbors before we did. He made his rounds visiting a few neighbors every day. They let him in the house and even feed him. The neighbor across the street left his car window down and Spike would be sitting in the car when he got in his car. If it was a quick trip he let Spike ride with him! There were leash laws even then. 1960’s. Spike could climb our fence! One day the dog catcher saw Spike. When he opened the back of his truck Spike jumped in! Somehow he figured out who the pup belonged to and knocked on our door. He told my mom to come to the pound after hours and he would release Spike to us. Obviously not a dangerous dog! Before people start telling me what a bad owner we were let me assure you that we tried to keep him in the fenced yard. It was a simpler time and most people didn’t mind a friendly neighborhood dog coming around. He followed me everywhere. 🐶🦴🐾🥰
I love when the neighbours' door opens & you can hear the fuss they make over Emmy. No wonder she's so excited her tail wag almost lifts her feet off the ground, lol.
Our mail lady's name is Miss Betty. She always leaves 3 dog treats in our mailbox daily for our Shih Tzu Ziggy Lee, Yorkie Sasha Lynn and Shorkie Gracie Rose. They let us know when the hear Miss Betty coming around every morning 😂 in her mail truck. Miss Betty recently was on vacation 9 days. On her last day delivering mail before vacation she left a snack size baggie full of doggie biscuits and a note saying she'd see them again in 9 days. Her first day back she left them treats. I made up the day before she came back homemade chocolate chip cookies for Betty. I wrote a note from our dogs with the cookies leaving them in our mailbox welcoming her back! We all love Miss Betty!

And, the dog is STILL ALWAYS RIGHT.

Training a dog to use a doorbell is the most valuable thing you can do. My dog also has smart paw to come in and go out. It’s the best thing ever even if she rings in the middle of the night. It saves on having unwanted accidents.

I taught my Lab mix, Ginger, to ring a bell when she needed to go outside. She proceeded to teach me to take her out to play whenever she rang the bell. Miss my sweet girl, too. ❤

Emmy has the mail carrier and the neighbors in her pocket. And she has ME, TOO! I'm going to go get one of those ringers just in case she's ever in my neighborhood. ❤😊❤
All dogs are smart. The thing is, you get out of your dog only what you put into your dog. Wish more could figure this out. It’s so easy to comprehend.
