My wife had the same problem with spotting and irregular bleeding even after having gone through menopause but put off going to the gynecologist. When my mother passed away and my daughter came home for her funeral, she forced her mother to go with her to a gynecologist. It was there that they found out my wife had stage 3 Endometrial Cancer. After having a hysterectomy, Radiation, and Chemotherapy she was clear of cancer for 6 months then it returned with a vengeance. She did another round of chemotherapy, but she was far gone at that point. Unfortunately my wife died 6 months after she finished chemotherapy. This was 15 years ago and I still miss her every day.
My mom passed away this year from retroperitoneal cancer and kidney failure. Her legs were swelling initially and they diagnosed her with DVT. Even with blood thinners she lost use of her legs and they said she had herniated disc. I moved her from one hospital to a university hospital and they finally diagnosed her with a henorrhage. It killed her within a month. I had an autopsy done which showed this large 18cm tumor was squamous cell cancer that metastasized from endometrial cancer. I pray everyone gets proper medical care and that youre believed.
Doesn't even sound like she had cancer. All tissue they biopsied came back as benign. If this was the case, why did they push her to continue with "treatment". Sounds crazy to me.
Your story moves me so much, and I so appreciate your courage sharing your journey. Thank you! Also, hugs to you and your husband as you take this journey together.

I totally feel for you sweetheart I'm 67 years old and so a lot older than yourself you keep strong 💜🙏💜 Loveeeeee Caz UK
Thank you, I'm sorry you had to go through all of that, but I'm so happy you had a great husband by your side, it's heart warming to have that love coming from him, hats off to him. PEACE.
I’m in midtown Omaha. 32 years at UNMC b4 retiring. Lost my sis here to leiomyosarcoma 9years ago. I only had an abnormal noncancerous tumor on my ovary - but worked with main Methodist cancer center for that, & they were great. Wishing you full healing and remission. Hashimoto’s & T1 diabetes are no picnic but can be managed. Hope you live to see great grandchildren!
@maureenfitzgerald1895 my grandfather had leiomyosarcoma also! We have since been told through genetic testing that we have Li Fremeni in our line. My mom had stage 4 breast cancer at 28 but is now 72, thankfully! I have also had a great neice pass at 6 yrs old from glioblastoma, and her aunt had breast cancer at 32 and now a rare type of pediatric leukemia as an adult, which she is still living with. It's so crazy how genetic disorders can change the course of what your sense of nornal looks like. I haven't tested yet, but I'm hoping it skipped me! I am so sorry for your loss, I'm sure it was so hard to lose your sister! 💗🙏
Nearly 18 years ago, I was diagnosed with Stage 3c Endometrioid Adeno Squamous Carcenoma - ovarian cancer like what they thought you might have. I went in for a benign mass removal and they found it. Chemo was Taxol (22 hours slow drip) and Cisplatin (2 hours). After a 6 week break, I had radiation (my cancer was retro-peritoneal as well). No recurrence…so very grateful. Two pieces of advice: not only should every woman get annual Pap smears, but every couple of years, I’d get a pelvic ultrasound as well. Second, if you have cancer, please ask your doctor is the Signatera test is right for you. I’d never heard of this before, but after 14 years, they found a tumor sample of mine in storage and were able to run this new test for me. In addition to the CA-125, I feel like this is good additional monitoring. Best of luck and well wishes to you!
Oh, this so encouraging! I am being nervous about my many symptoms and endometrioma which is not biopsied yet. This gives me hope! 18 years is a long time! ❤ So super happy for you!!! ❤❤❤
I was diagnosed with Clear Cell ovarian in 2013. I was stage 3a at diagnosis. I did the chemo and the radiation 25 treatments. I’ve been NED all this time now. It was good to watch your story ❤️
What a remarkable story. It really came across that the doctor's have so much more knowledge about cancer now and so many ways to treat it. You are so brave talking so openly about your cancer so soon after it was diagnosed. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your story. It really does help so many people to be more aware and to listen to our bodies.
Out daughter passed away from the same cancer. They refused to do a biopsy for months until a doctor lost it in the emergency department she went to. She definitely didn’t receive the chemotherapy and care you received. It was a nightmare here in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I am here mother and help my son-in-law raise their 2 children. There was no offer of surgery and no support services.
I am so sorry and saddened by your loss of your daughter. It is truly a blessing and a miracle that you are able to help your grandchildren and son-in-law. I hope that by being together, your healing will a bit easier. 🙏 🕯💖
It is really nice to hear this story with a happy outcome, and i can relate on so many levels HPV is no joke, for 1 out of every 10 people infected it leads to cancer, some of us rare cancers. I cheer on the effort to encourage people to get tested yearly, get the vaccine of you're young and pay attention to your health and what your body is trying to tell you. I finished treatment 5 months ago for stage 2c SCC anal cancer. I had all my regular paps, 6 years ago had a full hysterectomy including my cervix which was tested and everything came back negative for any evidence of abnormal cells. (just like in the patient story their were symptoms i likely wrote off as something else) last year my symptoms began to get more intense, fatigue increase in my ibs symptoms, cramping, i had gone to my doctor starting last February saying i was unwell and something was wrong, but was told things like your getting to "that age" and i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia as the reason for my increased pain and fatigue. it wasnt until i experienced rectal bleeding that i myself finally knew this was definitely something else and not just related to age (im only in my early 50s) even then it took 3 month to get a medical professional to listen to me, prior i was told it was a fissure and was given suppositories, which of course did nothing. 2 and a half months later i finally had my colonoscopy apt. I knew the when in the middle of this procedure the gi surgeon started taking multiple biopsies they had found cancer. After the procedure she came to my bed and i asked her before she said anything, is it cancer? She just said she found something abnormal but her look tld me the answer. I was told 14 days they would have the results. I had a call from her on day 6, on the 7th day i was contacted by the cancer agency. and so my treatment began, 1 year after i had first gone to my pcp seeking help. During the course of my diagnosis and treatment i also founf out. Have spinal arthritis with stenosis, degenerative disk disease, facet disease, an adrenal tumour that is secreting hormones, severe apnea, and moderate emphysema. I have not yet been declared cancer free but my oncologist believes m primary tumour has had a total response to treatment, however i have multiple small lesions on my liver that they have put on watch and wait. Still i hope to be declared NED come October when i have my first post treatment pet scan. What a ride, 1 year ago i thought i was fine just feeling crappy, well I'm living in a completely different world now.

Wow, bless your heart, Kate. You've really been through it but SO glad to hear the outcome is positive. I appreciate you still have medication/prevenrative treatment going forward, but well done you. Your wonderful husband too. Take good care, sweetie. Live your life and enjoy. Be kind to youself and go with the flow. Love and light. ❤ xx
I didn't know that it was possible to have type one diabetes for a long time and not be aware of it because I thought that going without insulin at all is like a death sentence . I'm really glad that your story had a happy ending despite all the gloom and doom which just goes to show that things can take a turn for the better and there's always hope!
The nephew’s 12 year old had symptoms of Type I but it took almost dying with a super super high blood sugar, and keto acidosis, for the doctors to finally look into it. She is doing well but it was a close call.
@@rnempson1what republicans love to train their puppets to repeat! Love how socialism is bad yet not bad to give corporations welfare of our tax money to give themselves bonuses and buy back stocks? You are like the uneducated that thinks this is ok! Not only Canada has Medicare for all so does Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other countries!
Thank the good Lord that I do not have cancer. But I do have COPD (haven't smoked in 30 yrs) and also sideroblastic anemia. It's hard sometimes when I can't breathe very easily and know eventually one of them will end my life. I was so inspired by your video and literally clapped my hands at the end. You will be included in my prayers for a continued healthy life!
I’m so sorry for what you went through and am thrilled with the outcome for you! I have to say, you have had the best explanation of your type of Myeloma yet. Stay well! 😊❤️🇨🇦
I have been awake almost all night with some pain and a very full/uncomfortable pressure feeling under my right ribs. I was watching cooking videos and yours popped up. I’m thinking I need to see my Dr as my gallbladder has already been removed and 8/28/23 I had a double mastectomy. My breast cancer was caught very early and with the double mastectomy, good margins and clear lymph nodes I didn’t need chemo or radiation, just Tamoxifen for 5 years. I was very lucky. I’m so grateful you are cancer free now. You are an inspiration with your strength and determination. Thank you for sharing your story 💖
Your rash was so scary, but you handled it really well. You have been through so much and are so brave, strong, and looking beautiful. I am hoping that you are feeling better each day. I am also a detail oriented person. I need to know all the facts so I can start processing. Don't sugar coat it. Your dog in the picture looks very sweet. I am sorry that after everything, you were then diagnosed with Diabetes 1. But it is good that it was finally discovered after years. The very best of luck to you in your future.
Such a positive attitude even after all you've been through. I have some similar symptoms and the one that gets me a little on edge is the rash you had all over your body That happened to me a week after I had a hysterectomy. I have hashimotos, hypothyroid, PCOS, the left pain under the rib cage, pain in my belly, and also had my gallbladder removed. I get a CT abd/pelvis tomorrow to check something the saw a few years ago and I have a kidney stone on the left. Prayers that you stay healthy and strong always.
You got this!! Don't let the fear overtake you! One day at a time! You never know how you will react to chemo, and it could end up being less intense for you!! I'm praying it goes really well for you, and everything shrinks and disappears!! ❤🙏❤🙏
Hello…I want to encourage you. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 1A and went through 6 rounds of chemo, I had a very slow drip which worked great. My only side effect was being very tired. All that was 11 years ago…you got this! ❤
Such a powerful story and you are an incredibly strong woman, supported by an amazing husband. The news you received just prior to this video must have been so amazing for you all. Continue your plan of yearly checks and whatever else you decide upon as it is your future and you are so young.
Wow! That's a lot to deal with. You are very strong to have gone through this and now are cancer free. The good lord was looking out for you. You go girl!
Honestly, even if you had caught it sooner and gone in for those symptoms, they most likely would have given you ibuprofen and said, "Just tough it out!" I went through years of being told my symptoms were in my head, and I was just really intolerant to pain when in reality I had severe endometriosis and cervical cancer 3 times throughout my journey. I ended up with a hysterectomy at 35 after going to a specialist in another state. The sad fact is that women are hugely ignored or gaslit, and it takes special physicians who actually listen and take you seriously which is rare. So don't beat yourself up too much because you really never know whether it would have been found at that point. You found it before it was too late, which is amazing! You have an optimistic mindset, and that goes a long way in the journey! I wish you health and healing! Thank you for sharing your story! ❤🙏❤️
Thank you so much for your honesty and for sharing! If you want to tell your story, here is our introductory survey: thepatientstory.com/share-your-story/
My Dad had colon cancer. His oncologist explained the cancer cells this way: there are unknown aliens, new babies, crawling toddlers and raging teenagers! They are always evolving. We can get those nasty teenagers easily, but those little, tiny ones are not always clearly seen, so we have to keep going until we get the all clear. I thought it to be a very good and easy to understand explanation. God speed to you my dear. You survived like a trooper!
You sweet thing. You are DEFINITELY not done, dear. I'm so happy for your outcome. And, you might not have learned of your other diseases if not for the cancer. I learned I had Type 2 Diabetes when I was in the hospital for a gall bladder surgery. Thank God I did! I have been managing it for sixteen years now and feel great. It's always good to look for the siilver linings. I predict a long happy life for you. And you will be a wonderful grandmother!
Blessings for good health. My sister passed of primary peritoneal cancer which she didn’t realize symptoms until the bloating and pain in her legs which she thought was getting older. Please take care!
So sorry your sister suffered too similar to my dear sis she didn't know until it was too late they also took her into hospital thinking it was gallstones. 🤗
I was in the very last stage before I would have been actually diagnosed. Sharing this to let you know I had regular pap smears. They were fine. I had a hysterectomy. Could have had a portion, called "cone" removed. Decided to go with more extreme approach. I was so scared when I was diagnosed. When I had had blood work done that day, the tech remarked, "Well, you knew it was bad when you came in today didn't you?
I’m so glad you are now “cancer free.” The robe you are wearing at the end of the video is really beautiful. Can you share a link to wear it was purchased? I wish you continued health for decades to come!
I’m old and have lived a very long tiring life! I’ve seen stuff done a lot of things both good and bad! I can’t even recall being and feeling young! So if I’m ever diagnosed with cancer whatever stage it may be, then I opt not to have treatment of any kind! I’ve lived my life and now I’m ready you know it’s time it’s time to go it’s time to say good night💤
I’m old, too. Dying of a cancer can be very hard. I hope you never get any cancer but that if you do, you get at least palliative treatment to ease the pain.
Thank you for sharing this part of your life. I’m so glad the chemo did its job! And I hope you’ll never again have to deal with any cancer. You and your husband are a beautiful couple. I love your style (something I seldom notice), and your cat and dog.
We paid for one in Houston, Tx... Yes, a Total Body Scan & found no cancer but high calcium score in both my Husband & I...in our 70s. We are still researching what to do about that... and, bought a policy through the company that we pay out, so later we can have a repeat Total Body Scan again as we get older. Or, have a Family member take one...and maybe have them pay us back if we feel the need for financial reimbursement... I will probably call soon and see if my 92 year old Parents can be checked as their health seems to be declining with not much action from their current Doctors. We'll see... 🙏

Kate, you seem to be such a kind, genuine, gorgeous and interesting woman. I wish you the very best! Big hugs from Europe.
WAO!!! Quite a journey!! Wishing you stay healthy and always strong, positive and focus on keeping healthy. Many blessings to you.
You did a great job explaining your journey. Thank you so much for sharing!
Imagine living in a country where somebody’s sitting behind a desk at an insurance company gets to approve your healthcare? It doesn’t make any sense!
A lot of things here don’t make sense (see: lax gun control). In many ways, it sucks here.
Am really thinkfull for my country Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 all the medical for free and in the same day
I was visiting uk and I got sick I had to wait few days although I pay for it on my own money without insurance 😅
@@SulimanTlthat’s universal health care or socialism. People in the USA think this is great, but it isn’t it suck. Just like Canada.
Stay well! 😊❤️🇨🇦
Congratulations for this great news! Thank you for sharing your story.
🙌WootWoot🙌 You go girl!🌹 Many blessings for a brighter future! 🙏
You are truly a blessing!🙏
Thank you for sharing
Thank God, family and health support. Major thing is that you stayed positive and that helps big time. 🙏👍🏼🌺
I hope you have seen a Dr. 9:17

Aww you able to breathe little and hope soon you able close that door cancer journey. Thanks for telling your story!
Woohoo! Congratulations on NED! That’s so incredibly exciting! ❤❤❤
It didn't sound like she had cancer at all. ALL tissue they biopsied was benign.
I am so very happy for you and I wish you and your husband a very long and healthy life! God Bless 🙏🙏❤️❤️
I have some similar symptoms and the one that gets me a little on edge is the rash you had all over your body
That happened to me a week after I had a hysterectomy.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I start chemotherapy on Wednesday and I’m really scared. I’m so happy that your outcome was positive 💖💖
You got this!! Don't let the fear overtake you! One day at a time! You never know how you will react to chemo, and it could end up being less intense for you!! I'm praying it goes really well for you, and everything shrinks and disappears!! ❤🙏❤🙏
@@devonhealy4553 thank you so much for your kind words💞
Hello…I want to encourage you. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 1A and went through 6 rounds of chemo, I had a very slow drip which worked great. My only side effect was being very tired. All that was 11 years ago…you got this! ❤
@@jennilopez1984 thank you so much for your kind words 💞
I really hope that your chemotherapy is progressing well and that you are coping ok with it. Be strong you can get through this❤
Such a powerful story and you are an incredibly strong woman, supported by an amazing husband. The news you received just prior to this video must have been so amazing for you all. Continue your plan of yearly checks and whatever else you decide upon as it is your future and you are so young.
My goodness you sure went through so much. Congratulations on being cancer free. Thats such great news!
Gosh, what a story, thank you for sharing. Stay healthy and God bless!
God bless you, Kate.. Stay strong and healthy.. you’ve gone thru a lot!!
I’m so happy for you! Thank you for sharing this incredible story.
Wow, what an insensitive tech! 😡
I’m so happy for u and pray yr recovery stays recovered
Im so glad you beat you cancer. Cancer really does suck!! Sensing prayers anf love your way.❤❤🙏🙏
You are handling all this soooo well. Moreover youamahe to look beautiful in every single photo. Wishing you all the very best for the future ❤️
I’m so glad you are now “cancer free.” The robe you are wearing at the end of the video is really beautiful. Can you share a link to wear it was purchased? I wish you continued health for decades to come!
Thank you so much! The robe is a vintage 1940’s dressing gown, so unfortunately I don’t have a link for you.
WHERE!!!
So happy for you and your family! You are so brave. May God continue to watch over you.
As a radiologist I like having the images shown.
I’m so happy for you & I hope everything goes well for you x
Thank you for sharing! I am so glad that you are cancer free today!
What a blessing of a happy ending!
We ALL need MRI full body scans, but Insurances do not want to pay for safe scans.😢
Thank you for sharing this part of your life. I’m so glad the chemo did its job! And I hope you’ll never again have to deal with any cancer. You and your husband are a beautiful couple. I love your style (something almost never notice), and your cat and dog are so cute!
I’m praying for you! Thanks for sharing your experience.
