    New Temperature Blend Door Actuator from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1AHCX00282
    This video shows you how to install a temperature blend door actuator on your 2002-2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The temperature blend door actuator is the electric motor that is responsible for physically opening and closing the blend doors in your vehicle's HVAC system. If the actuator isn't working, then you won't be able to control the temperature of the air coming out of the vents!
    This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
    2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer
    2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer
    2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer
    2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer
    2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer
    2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer
    2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer
    2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer
    Tools you will need:

    Thank you for this video!
    I did the repair based on this video .
    if you are doing this repair DON'T MESS WITH THE CENTER CONSOLE AT ALL!!!!
    I didn't remove it and still got the job done. The two bolts in back of the metal bracket are the hardest part.

    Good job guy. Was a chevy tech for 25 years and an instructor for 20 years. Had to refresh my memory. Have an 06 trailblazer I have to do that proceedure on. Excellent work, enjoyed it.

    For the bolts on the plate behind everything @4:33 I removed the floor vent tube and that gave me extra clearance so I could lay on my back on the floor of drivers side and use a 3” extension w ratchet to remove the 10mm bolts…took me a while but after it makes perfect sense.
    Thanks for the video again

    I just got quoted $2,000 for this job on my 2003 LTZ from the chevy dealer in Ft Pierce Florida but they wanted $99 to tell me what was wrong. I would get that taken off of the $2,000 tab. Now you know what a rip off most dealers are. Thank you so much for this video. Do I really need to take the center console out? Comparing this video to another that didn't take the center console out and it appears that your technique gives more access to the actuator.👌

      Dealers are scammers. Toyota quoted me $490 for 3 hrs of labor to do the rear coil springs in an '02 4Runner lmfao! Merlins did it in 1 hr for $145.

    Is this the actuator to change if the passenger side does not have as much heat as the driver side on a manual dual climate control system? Or is there a different actuator to change

    I used a die grinder with a cutting wheel to cut just enough of the frame out of the way for the passenger side actuator. You drop the glove box down and after cutting the frame it was an easy install. It stopped working today and after resetting the fuse again it seems to work fine now so im wondering if thats all I needed to do to fix it to begin with and wasted all that time and money.

    When you pull the fuse to re-calibrate the unit is the key on or off?

    • @smoejith9283

      I just replaced one of my blend motors.. to re-cal, put all the knobs to counter clockwise, and the heat/cold levers down. Have the vehicle shut off. Pull the fuse, wait 10 seconds and reinsert. Then start the vehicle. The re-cal will then occur.

    My son just bought an '04 trailblazer. The temperature control and mode knob both operate backwards. Blows hot air when on cold, cold air when on hot. Blows through vent when on defrost and vice versa. The previous owner had the HVAC control head replaced for this same reason a couple years ago but didn't fix problem. I tried to reset it by pulling fuse, etc. Nothing changed. Any ideas??

      I've been searching videos for a similar issue. It turns out, the actuators look the same, and bolt in the same, connect the same, but they are not the same. It seems you may have the actuators mixed up, as in the wrong locations, or just the wrong actuators

    • @alexgarza3133
      @alexgarza3133 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      My 04' Trailblazer has been doing the same, my model is a 4.2 Ext version, turn your blower to #3 setting, place your temperature slider about.5 to .75 up from bottom of cold (blue) side and air flow knob facing occupants.
      there are 4 HVAC fuses under the rear passenger seat that has to to pulled out for a reset plus the negative side of battery disconnected....let everything set for 5 minutes.
      Then plug in fuses and connect negative terminal on battery, don't touch any temperature controls or knobs yet,
      Next, turn the car on for 2 minutes, shut back off for 15 seconds, then restart car....this should home all the vent actuators, adjust the temperature to see if it responds.... It's possible that an actuator could have a bad contact on it that's causing the cycle to mix hot and cold, I have a 05' trailblazer as well with no issues like this, just the 04' .... maybe it's a more common issue with that year model, good luck

      The other two control air flow to the drivers side and the vent air damper door.
      There is also one on the passenger side for the passenger side air selection or when switching from ac ducts to heat ducts in colder weather .

    Would this cause your A/C to not work if it’s bad?

    • @jameslogan1922
      @jameslogan1922 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will cause the air to not blow out of the vents. Making it feel as though there is no AC

    • @HuBrIsRaDiO
      @HuBrIsRaDiO ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@jameslogan1922 that’s doesn’t seem true at all. It’s called the blend door actuator. The blend doors control the hot/cold air mix that is adjusted at the HVAC controls. Some are electronic and some are controlled by engine vacuum. When bad, you will still hear or feel air coming from the vents because the actuators are have nothing to do with the blower motor for the HVAC system. Depending on the situation, symptoms may include no hot air or no cold air or rapid fluctuations.

    If you look direct above that actuator, you will see the upper actuator for the top half of the blend door system. This is the bottom or know as rear blend door actuator.

    Wish I knew where those mysterious bolts are that you have to remove to get the metal pieces out. What does that metal even do? I attempted to rip it out with brute force but that didn't work out. Also, Chevy quit making fasteners out of the brass-looking pot metal! The E5 part of the studs just broke right off.

    This Guy is offering misleading DYS information . It is not necessary to remove the center console in replacing the actuator .I'm sure that He means well , but doing it this way adds much more time to an otherwise easy process .

    As far as I know if you have the automatic climate control there’s a left main temperature and a right main temperature actuators, The vehicle he’s working on only has manual controls so I believe there’s only the one he just replaced?
