      @@savorwithdmurph1113 For the reset on the Actuators, should you give the car longer than 2 mins on the "ON" position with the key? Seems like 2 mins isn't long enough to cycle the actuators.

      @savorwithdmurph1113  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bad actuators won’t keep your blower from running. It could be a fuse or there may be something with the motor itself? Is it your front or rear blower motor?

    Hey, awesome video!!! So after two years of procrastinating I finally opened it up. Now I have the replacement parts but the position isn’t correct inside the actuator. The ones I removed are a certain way. How can I fix that?

    • @savorwithdmurph1113
      @savorwithdmurph1113  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can move the vent knob and then slide the actuator on. This is difficult for the hot/cold one on the side but possible. You can also plug the actuators in, reset the system and adjust the rear AC controls till they fit.

    • @silbinocardozo630
      @silbinocardozo630 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DMurph & Pri-Pri hey so I managed to get it to work. I plugged in the actuator and noticed the position move when I moved the knobs around of where I wanted the air to blow. I got it to move to the middle, and using a flat head screw driver I moved the knob to the matching position and managed to get it in.

    Which front actuator on a 2006 Chevy trailblazer controls the blend doors? And are all three the same in the front?

    • @savorwithdmurph1113
      @savorwithdmurph1113  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So it looks like the 2006 may have the same location for blend door actuators. The Hanes manual has years 2002- 2009 so I would assume these are all similar locations. Mine's a 2002. The one I worked on controls the hot/cold driver side.

    • @savorwithdmurph1113
      @savorwithdmurph1113  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No but I have a video of taking off the right panel. It is pretty similar to the right side. I had to replace my amp so I did the left side recently.
      You undo 5 screws in the back. Take off the seat belt, use a panel pry bar to pop off the seat belt trim panel, then use the pry bar to pop off the left trim panel. It also would probably help to remove the small left rear trim panel above the left trim pane in the rear because those two are hooked together. There is one electrical attachment to a power outlet that's a little bit of a pain but after that the panel is off.

    So working on a 2004 GMC Envoy with these same actuators and the same fuse schematic. When I pull the fuse to reset after plugging it back in it will sit there quietly for about a min or two before it does anything, then if I kill the vehicle and bring it back on nothing happens. It will also kill the fan as well. If I leave it on for about 5 min the actuator controlling the temp will make noise like it is calibrating but the floor/ceiling actuator does nothing, then the fan will kick on but the actuators are still unresponsive.
    Is this something we should see results right away or it is something that really needs several days like you mentioned? Or could it be something else?

  • @robertl955
    @robertl955 ปีที่แล้ว

    I see everyone say this actuator fixed all their problems but I cannot find my specific issue. Top air vents in the rear do not work, floor vents work no matter the position they are set to. They only blow warm/room temp air no matter how they are set. I searched all over reddit and apparently, every trailblazer is having some variation of this issue.

    I have a 2008 Trailblazer LT my front driver side does not blow as cold as the passenger side. Then with 15-20 mins of driving all vents start to blow warm air. I have to turn the truck off then on for it to blow cold again. Can u help me figure this out

    • @savorwithdmurph1113
      @savorwithdmurph1113  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Happy to help. I’ll ask you a few questions and we can get to the cause.
      First, this doesn’t sound like an actuator problem. A HVAC fuse reset will help rule this out. That driver side vent is acting a little funny but that wouldn’t cause all vents to go hot. Also if it was an actuator it wouldn’t reset every time you turn the car on. The actuators mainly reset when HVAC fuses are pulled/battery is removed.
      Second, have you had the refrigerant levels checked/serviced? It sounds like not enough refrigerant is getting around to keep the system cool. Once the car runs it may get used up and turning it off allows the refrigerant to gather, causing this cycle to be repeated. How long has it been blowing cold then switching to hot?

      @JoeDetroit313 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like 20mins of driving the air will blow warm u can smell the air change from cold to hot. I turn the car off then back on everything blows cold again

    • @savorwithdmurph1113
      @savorwithdmurph1113  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the process I followed to reset my A/C actuators. You pull all of your HVAC fuses in the rear fuse box wait 15 seconds put them back in. Then turn on your car wait for the actuators to adjust (you'll hear them whirring) once they stop adjust your dials and see if you get cold air. Then turn your car off and on to see if the system reset. Sometimes this needs to be done 2-3 times. If your actuators need to be reset, the A/C will blow cold air when you turn your car on for the first time.
      In this video I discuss resetting the HVAC system in more detail at 5:05. You'll need to pull the 3 at the bottom of the fuse box.

      This is a common issue with the trailblazers. Try closing/adjusting the rear vents accordingly. I just had this issue, and I closed the rear vents entirely. I assume the AC was accidentally designed so more air goes to the back than middle.
