    No other videos I’ve watched mentioned 1- Disconnecting power due to the Xenon headlamps holding a charge. 2- Ensuring the plates don’t move while removing the bolts on the headlamps so you don’t Throw off you alignment. That will save people major headaches down the road. Great video, Thank you!

    Hope this is useful to you guys. We've included details on the adjustment screw plates as it's an important factor in ensuring your headlight beams stay in the same place when you refit the unit. Happy spannering!

    Hi i was wanting to know whilst you took the headlight off from the car can you recall if the lens from the headlight can be removed on that lights as mine has water damage inside it needs a buff on the inside lens. Thanks

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From memory, usually the lens is not removable separately as they are sealed up to make them (usually!!) watertight.

    Hi, i have a question for my headlights on this a6 2009 model. I think i have bi xenon, and it seems like the «yellow towards the grill side» light «not the xenon» does not work either side on my car. I do get a «light error» warning in my car, and its is not a fuse, neither the bulbs itself. I just bought the car. Any help is appreciated

      You are probably referring to the Daytime Running Light (at least on the USA spec headlight xenon version) and that is just a simple 7506 or similiar bulb. not so easy to replace but the bulb is cheap

      There should be a part number on the rear of the headlight. You may be able to see it with a mirror tool, otherwise you'll need to remove the headlight to get the number.

    If someone was to remove the headlights before seeing this video, and the adjuster was to unscrew, is there a method of calibrating the Mounting adjusters back to roughly original?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no way to get them back to where they were before, but you can adjust them to the correct levels fairly easily. Take a look on TH-cam for videos on DIY Headlight Beam Adjustment and you'll be on the right path. Hope that helps :-)

    if you are replacing the headlight it is no use putting masking tape with pencil marks for guidance as you are not putting the same headlight back in ?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that would make sense. If it is the same headlight type you could try and use the lines in the headlight glass as reference lines as they are likely to be in the identical positions between the different headlights (unless installing a different tuype of headlight of course (aftermarket, upgrade etc).
