dodge ram no start no crank fixed. my 2013 dodge ram 1500 broke down out of town. would no crank over had to take it to dodge and this is what i found out.

Thank you for posting! I noticed today it wouldn't start remotely and when I went to start it with the fob, it wouldn't start. I waited and it started fine. I think a lot of problems are with the computer. I've heard that if you disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes, the computer boots up again and goes through all the checks. I do recall when I replaced the battery, it took a few days for a bug or two to work out.
I had the same issue yesterday. Turned out the fob key lost connection needed to be programed. Dash said "key is not programed" 250 for a locksmith to fix you up
My 2008 does the same thing. They blame it on the starter module. New one costs $800 plus labor. What genius invented the delayed start in the first place and why??? Seems nobody knows.
What ever you do dont disconnect the cpm connectors it can erase your memory and has to be replaced and reprogrammed. Expensive to fix. If it is unplugged while your battery is disconnected your memory will be erased and all kinds of problems and error codes. These connectors are well seated and can be hard to put back correctly. Leave it to a professional. Dont touch.
Dealerships are a scam and that's why we all need to sign the RPM Act that can be found on the SEMA website. The government is doing away with aftermarket parts sales so everyone has to take their vehicles to the dealership to get fixed.
LISTEN CAREFULLY(im not joking) In my personal experience, i mean it happened to me :0) when i shutted down the engine (i pressed the button ''STOP'' before turning the knob(not the stearing handle) to ''PARK'' , and it created a ''BUG'' , exactly like a bug can happen in a personal computer(PC). Conclusion, a friend o mine who work at the dealership show me the trick but its very very very complicated, carefully follow my instructions : ''DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR 5 MINUTES'' and RECONNECT THE BATTERY ...thats all. ENJOY ! :0)
So you're saying I should have not done it 10 or 15 times and then unhooked it and went to work for 14 hours while I was stuck in Ohio for a week and a half I should have just done it once for 5 minutes no wonder it didn't work thanks for you for your useful information
I’m having an issue right this moment that led me to this video. However I’m not sure this is the problem. I parked my 2014 on a hill and I don’t believe it fully engaged into park because when I tried to leave my remote start didn’t work. So when I went out to my truck to start it, my dash lights come on as normal but no start. Tried to override park by pulling the strap and still in park. Won’t move. I’m stumped.
@@jessegriffis2569 disconnect the battery for 15 minutes, the capacitors in the pcm had to be fully discharged and reconnect the battery and try to start it.
@@jessegriffis2569 did you ever figure out the issue? My 2011 1500 5.7 sat for 2 weeks and suddenly won't start. No crank, nothing happens when I turn the key. Truck won't come out of park. I've tried numerous things, checked all the fuses and relays, disabled and cleaned the contacts in the WIC module. My truck didn't have these connectors shown in the video either
