if you kneel at a certain place and the truck starts wouldn't that certain place you kneel be where you would look ? if your body weight makes the difference? why look under the hood if applying pressure in the center of the door jam changes it?

dont think there is a ghost in your truck....i think bruce put a safety mechanism in the dodge...same as a riding lawnmower , you know when you try starting a riding lawnmower without sitting on it , it wont start

nope no lying just ran a switch to the starter to turn it over most likely my neutral safety switch is no good just a simple bypass but now on my perfectly good truck a head gasket is leaking ill do that this spring and make another video. cheers!!

@ The Joker : Possible bad ground connection to the fuel pump. Also possible bad fuel pump in the tank. Ya gotta do some wire chasing & proper diagnostics with your DVOM (digital volt/ohm meter) to find the problem & then fix it. It'll also help to have a Service Manual for your truck with wiring schematics & diagrams.
Has anyone else ever left their truck running and locked the doors, then shut it with the keys in running and both doors locked? Mine has a device that unlocks the driver door when either door is shut.
I'll bet good money it's your automatic transmission gearshifter's linkage out of adjustment and/or is worn and sloppy. I've even seen where the plastic pivot bushings on the gearshift linkage cross-shaft fall out which causes issues due to all the increased slop. Try putting the truck in Neutral and crank it. I'll bet it starts right up. The neutral safety switch requires the shifter to be fully in Park OR Neutral for the engine to be able to be cranked by the starter. The neutral switch at the transmission itself is probably perfectly fine. Your added body weight is moving the cab just enough to make the gearshift linkage move underneath where it connects to the cab & frame, and the added movement from your body depresses the Neutral safety switch just enough for it to function correctly. One other thing to note... Check your cab mounts. The driver's side cab mounts often rot from salt & calcium chloride winter roadway treatments. Once the cab mount gets "soft" the movement of the cab can create a lot of problems, including what you are experiencing, as well as other bad happenings, such as not shifting into the proper gear on the trans or slipping out of gear when you hit a bump or do anything to move the cab on the frame, more than a tiny bit. Again, because of the mechanical shift linkage and it's location near the left front cab mount. Bottom line... fix/adjust your truck's shift linkage.

Been a mechanic for over 25 years, and I also own & have a great deal of knowledge about a small fleet of Gen II Dodge Ram trucks. I basically said it COULD BE the neutral safety switch, but don't be surprised if it isn't. Don't just be a parts replacer.
We've got a wheel chair lift on our 3500 ram van. Step Dad would shake the circuit breaker and it would start. I don't understand why. Can't seem to get power from the coil, but haven't tested the supply to the coil.
it's not a 1950s harness is it, i will never buy anything that complicated again...i have two broken down dodge vp44 injection pumps on the property now and a case backhoe with a 4bt injection pump problem...it is almost always unnecessary electronics... Creator bless...doug

Sounds like bad battery cable contact to battery. Usually oxidation. Sounds like ground cable Connection. Usually positive bad it will kill lights. You can tap the connection and it could make continuity. Stilly need to tighten or remove glean and retighten.

Most likely the TIPM - Total Integrated Power Module - It's the whole fuse/relay box.

The problem is the wire harness that goes close to the strut mounting. It is probably worn through.
